I'm not real brand conscious kind of person generally, and this need is pretty generic. It's once you know what bits you are going to use (replace) that you know which ones are worth a brand premium. I got a couple of these kits at Harbor Freight. Many people here don't like HF but the bits were OK.

This is the kind of kit I was talking about. If you like a bigger kit and the half inch, this one has more flush trim and bigger bits.

There are other sets. This is the one I got from Harbor Freight. It's not as great a deal as it once was.

If you want to make jigs do look into "T-slot bit". I find it can often replace expensive and complicated T-track by just cutting the T shaped slot in the wood. Once you get the routing habit you're going to be a bit collector. Straight ones roll away.
It was the Hiltex Set.
