Regarding medical care, I would get on the phone and speak with a physician back in the United States (or whatever country you are from) that you are comfortable with. This is a time when it really helps to have a long term primary care physician who knows you.
Call them up and ask them what kind of images they'd like to see, and what kind of diagnosing you can do on top of it.
They won't be able to give you as much accuracy as if you were there, but you should be able to get pretty close.
I have a lot of experience in Latin America where medical care is very "cafeteria". You just walk into imaging or labs, and ask for what you want, and then they email you the results as a PDF. It's not like in the states where everyone wants a referral first and are reluctant to give you your own results (which is weird as hell).
For initial care, see what you can do with RICE (especially the first 48 hours), then from there see if you can find a nice brace. The hinged variety offer a ton of support but aren't as comfortable:
