They're pretty sturdy, just make sure all the joints are twisted tight once you have your fan positioned how you want it. I have one tilted down about 45° and it stays locked perfectly in place. I'm using Holmes Lil Blizzard fans and they get the job done for my current grow, but I'll probably try bigger ones at some point. The tablet holders extend out to about 11", so you should be good as long as the diameter of your fan base is no wider than that.
damn, I totally forgot to mention. I have a 8" fan I bought from amazon that is also blowing air inside. It seems pretty powerful. This little guy right here is laying flat on the top hole, blowing straight in and the exhaust fan sucks in the through filter, out the side hole, then out the window.

Yes, negative pressure is exactly what you wan... This is just too darn much.
u didn't buy that fan then bc it does oscillate. go to amazon and its this fan
If you read my other comments, you will see that I have all 5 vents/holes open and in the 6th, I have this 8" fan blowign inward, on high. https://www.amazon.com/Holmes-Blizzard-8-Inch-Oscillating-Table/dp/B000J07RMU
It is still suctioned to the max.
I just went ahead and bought a 6" AC Infinity Cloudline T6 last night. It is only 330cfm vs the 750cfm the 8" inline fan is.
If this is PLA that you're printing then it sounds like insufficient cooling. If you have a small 12V fan mounted on your hotend, then it's likely insufficient. I keep one of these handy for printing PLA: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000J07RMU/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687582&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00005CDPQ&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0MMJ69BRKBA9BKBZPXNK
Makes a huge difference.
Do you sleep with a fan on? This is the fan I have owned for 3 years now: http://www.amazon.com/Holmes-Blizzard-Oscillating-Personal-HAOF87BLZ-UC/dp/B000J07RMU
I highly suggest buying it, not only is it a great fan but its the perfect volume for people with tinnitus. I can honestly say, that without this fan I wouldn't have the great sleep and happiness that I enjoy today. Try meditating with some spa music off YouTube, I always use calming music when doing it. It masks the T, and adds an even greater calming environment. Try the marijuana in small doses, and avoid blunts or bongs--those are just too much. I saw a psychologist at the time too, he unfortunately couldn't help me. The one thing he did help me with was his sympathy, and essentially reassured me that this time in my life would be hard for anyone. Keep your chin up, and never plug your ears and listen for the noise. Do things you love, and advance your happiness through hobbies. By the time you get used to the sound in your head, you will be happier than you were before the tinnitus. Good luck, and feel free to ask me for any more advice.

There are some people selling the mounts on IG and around reddit if you don't have access to a 3d printer
I'm also in a 4x4. Been using two of these fans and mounts

This one is working great! Doesn’t seem to run hot and has been on for about 3 weeks straight now
This is the fan I use (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000J07RMU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Price for features it's good, it oscillates and moves a decent amount of air. I have 5 of them, my oldest is about 10 months old (started with 2, liked enough to buy more). So far they are preforming well, people complain of the noise they produce but it's in my tent away from me noise is the least of my concern.
I know a few other growers that run them and like them as well. The hardest part is figuring a way out to mount them.
Here is a small 8" one: https://smile.amazon.com/Holmes-Blizzard-8-Inch-Oscillating-Table/dp/B000J07RMU/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=small+oscillating+fan&qid=1555104639&s=gateway&sr=8-3
They work pretty well, I was using two for a good while. I recently upgraded to a tower fan https://smile.amazon.com/Honeywell-Quiet-Whole-Room-Tower/dp/B01N2P6V5P/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=tower+fan&qid=1555104710&s=gateway&sr=8-5
The tower fan is more powerful, quieter, and more efficient. It's worked super well for me! It takes up a good bit of space in my 2'x4'x6' tent, but I think it's worth it to have a fan, and it doesn't really take up much more floor space than the small 8" one (2x 8" fans take up more space than 1x tower fan). I hope this helps!

Thanks, this is very helpful. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of tent fan do you use? Like for helping the stems get thick and strong as you say.
I have this Secret Jardin oscillating fan in one tent, and I was waiting for a second one to be in stock at the grow store by me, but now it is making a lot of noise whenever I turn the oscillation on. So I might get something like this one, but I'll have to figure out how to attach it to my tent. Or maybe I just put it on the floor? I feel that the oscillating is a must have for a big tent like mine.
I have been thinking about this a lot so ill share some ideas with you. For ventilation you need to move lots of air out of the room (but not into the house). You want the vent sucking the air out of the room to be on the opposite side of the room as the window or the door where you have air coming into the room so that all of the air in the room is removed and not just small area between where the air is flowing in and out, a small oscillating fan will help with this. I plan on mounting a big inline fan in the attic above the room and then running 6in ducting from a vent in the ceiling of the room to an output in the roof. Along with a small oscillating fan inside the room this should be more than enough ventilation to prevent stinking up the house.
stinking up the room is a whole other problem. smoke sticks to fabric so you want to avoid it as much as possible in the room. Hardwood floors and leather/wood furniture would be ideal. unfortunately smoking around the books in your library will probably stink them up, but having good ventilation in the room should help minimize this.
Thats about all iv got, do you have any interesting ideas to add?
