I was so nervous when we had our first overnight. We both were.
We made plans of spending the entire time between the sheets (or on the couch, or against the wall, or in the shower lol), but ended up only having sex once the entire time. The rest of the time we reveled in being able to act like a normal couple. We went on a hike, went out to dinner, caught a show, sat outside on the patio drinking and talking about anything and everything. It was great.
Get one of these and show them that you are fucking serious.
Keep fighting until you get the help you need. You are worth it.
Damp rid is just a bucket of this chemical in crystal form that attracts humidity. It’s just a cheap first thing to try out.
You can actually see how much water it is attracting to gauge how bad the problem is.
I sorta think global warming is leading to a lot more moisture that we are having to deal with. Versus past generations.
DampRid Fragrance Free Moisture Absorber 4 lb. Hi-Capacity Bucket - For Fresher, Cleaner Air in Large Spaces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_7EGBQQ5VJY6JCXPF566M
thanks a ton! I found this on amazon - https://www.amazon.com/DampRid-FG50T-Hi-Capacity-Moisture-Absorber/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1477492108&sr=1-1&keywords=damprid
wondering how long your damprid lasts you?
I would suggest looking into ona gel and considering using that combined with a carbon filter if you really want to do this, but seriously slow down and think about this for a minute:
I assume that you have 0 growing experience and you are not sure if you will be able to contain the smell. You are not close with your roommates and you do not know how they will react if they catch you growing. Growing smells ALOT more than smoking does. Remember how hard it was to hide smoking from your parents? I highly, highly, doubt that you will be able to hide all of the smell from a grow from the people living with you. All it takes is one little slip up and your housemates could call the cops on you. How do you plan on getting in all of the equipment into your room? It would be suspicious to bring in carbon filters or have someone deliver a big ass grow box. I'm not trying to bust your balls here, but I just don't want you to get caught. I seriously recommend you wait until you have a place of your own.
The best thing you can get are these...
http://www.amazon.com/Ona-ON10061-Pro-Gel-Qt/dp/B00AC1N4DM
They are made for sewage plants and stuff to suck up smell. But since I'm guessing you don't have time to get one of those just do what everyone else is saying, Open all the windows, light a match, smoke a cigar then spray some febreeze.
https://www.amazon.com/Gonzo-Odor-Eliminating-Rocks-Eliminator/dp/B0061UMTVG
First, clean the items… Then, You will want to put a couple bags of this stuff in the bottom of a box, create a platform for the figures to rest on above the bags. Close up the box and check back ins few days
I have always had great luck with baking soda. Seal them in a bag or container with plenty of baking soda. There is also smoke removal products available. I have had good luck with this one too https://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Wave-Odor-Removing-Gel/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=mp_s_a_1_27_mod_primary_new?crid=3R3Z7015MNBYT&keywords=smoke+remover+for+home&qid=1666412642&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjIyIiwicXNhIjoiNS4wOSIsInFzcCI6IjQuNzQifQ%3D%3D&sbo...
Maybe try sealing in a container and spray Ozium in it? I know that to remove the smoke smell from cars, they will leave an o-zone generator in there for hours. I see that Ozium has helped some people with smoke smell.
There will likely be nicotine or tar inside of the Tama which you could try to remove as much as possible.
You could try one of these
I don't like to 'cover' odors, but I found placing one of these in the drawer (in between the filter and the bag) helps immensely: Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. (Pack of 2)
Looks just like this stuff. Pulls moisture out of the air
They’ll get woken up by one of the others and most likely get called sleeping beauty and have their stones busted until the next guy does it. These are also a staple for future occurrences.
We have had our litter robot since February. I haven't changed the carbon filter yet. We use tall kitchen trash bags as liners. The litter you use does make a big difference. We switched to litter with charcoal and sprinkle some litter and baking soda in the waste tray bag to absorb the odor.
This all helped a lot but the biggest smell reduction was made by putting a jar of Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel inside the waste tray (the tray has a big gap between the carbon filter and the liner). People really love these gel air fresheners. They're a tad bit pricey next to other options but work really well.
thank you so much this gives an idea. carbon filters are too expensive here. i think i can close the door don't let any air go thru to house, open the window. put a fan so air goes outside. and put this gel and reduce smell a lot. i mean i hope i can. but can people smell it outside? thats a concern.
I hear you. My landlord has a zero tolerance policy and they have enforced it. My neighbors would narc me off in a second.
If you have to, Ozium, some form of smoke buddy and a good 'ole towel will keep a roof over your head, guaranteed. I'm pretty homebound, smoke rosin all day long in the midst of really straight people without the use of above, and nobody's ever said a word. Couldn't do that with buds. Good luck.
p.s. I've only used ozium when closet growing and only when leaving the apartment. Scent too strong.
I guess - from what I’ve seen and read from others - this is what is amazing to put in the waste drawer in the front by the carbon filter
Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EEA4ZDQY4FDTSQPR8EKR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You could probably bag it during off-use.
A heavy duty construction site style garbage bag, tied and taped, would probably be sufficient to keep humidity relatively low. You could also bag it with something like this to help if you're concerned.
Or just take the burner off, stick it in a rubbermaid tub or a plastic tote box, and you'll be fine.
I wonder if putting damp rid buckets in the room would work?
Not a perfect answer but consider toting some M9 odor eliminating spray around - available in 2oz and 8oz sizes. We use it at the hospital and it’s pretty great in that it virtually odorless after the initial chemical smell vaporizes after 10 seconds
Hollister M9 Odor Eliminator Spray - Unscented - 8 Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZUEQTE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_39NX4GSBDRKNSAS29EW8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
start huffing Ozium-Air-Sanitizer-Oz-Spray
Thank me later: Poo-Pourri PS you spray the bowl before you shit and it creates a magical scent lid with the film it creates on the water
I foster kittens and understand how much they can stink! I have had good look with this odor neutralizer. Fresh Wave
Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go WC-Sprühflasche, origineller Zitrusduft, 7 ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0108XRDJE/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_PPCQ927DT2KHW8ZTXG7K
In addition to the clean up if you can buy a can of “Ozium” https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Air-Freshener-Sanitizer-oz/dp/B0143M9KP6
Before you leave for the day just spray a ton of it and the smoke smell will disappear. Used to do it in my car all the time.
I'm similarly incontinent and two things have helped me with a third that's worth a shot.
First, a good diaper pail. I have the XL Dekor, which works reasonably well and they make aftermarket liners that aren't terribly expensive.
Second, M9 Odor Eliminator spray. That's an amazon link, but you can get it elsewhere. Not to put too fine a point on it, but my bowel movements REEK worse than anything I've ever smelled (and I worked in healthcare for years), and that stuff makes a decent dent. It's not perfect but it's significantly better.
Lastly, you might look into an "internal deodorant". Nullo and Devrom are the two big brands. I haven't tried the name brand of either yet, but the knockoffs I've tried didn't work all that well.
I have a 4” in-line fan with the corresponding ductwork/ carbon filter in my 2’x2’, and to be extra safe on top of that I have a few of these around that room Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7T3RPNA4CN01CT2S31ER?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Kind sir, please take my upvote for your wife's great sense of humor! I've heard good things about this product for smell reduction: https://www.amazon.com/Ona-Products-ON10061-25-8-Neutralizer/dp/B00AC1N4DM Peace - God Bless Willie
I've been in this situation. Unfortunately you seem to be doing everything you really can in this situation. Outside of continuing to talk to your RA (or if there is anyone above them, we had proctors in my dorms). As another mentioned, you might be able to mitigate smells using air freshener (baking soda is a great idea in general for close spaces). When I worked in detailing we used something called Ozium to get really tough scents out. I like this stuff because it's supposed to actually bind to particulate matter, not just cover up the smell.
so something like this?
I stick one of these down in the litter drawer (right behind the filter). I curve the bag halfway over it to prevent litter from falling in. Works great.
Ozium

https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Air-Sanitizer-Oz-Spray/dp/B07B66KHXM

You can buy it at auto parts stores. I used it to get the smell out of my car after I let my dad smoke in it when we commuted together for a few months.
Arm and Hammer litter and one of these inside the tray: Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_CEW0B9D3JHRAHTGP41MA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Smell gone for me.
Ask them what stink they're trying to cover up? That's all I can think in scented houses, like what nasty are you covering? Lol
I hate scents, too. I found an air freshener gel that works by removing stinks rather than adding extra crap to the air. It has a light natural scent that is barely noticeable. Maybe they'd be willing to switch to it? It's fabulous and does what it should. Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_15BSGVR080JF142N31C1
There's a few sizes and refill jugs, too.
If they say they like the smell then maybe you can see if they'll just use it in their room and not the common areas. Fingers crossed for you!
Try Ozium if you notice that the Febreeze isn't working as it should. I've noticed that it doesn't work to my liking, and Ozium takes the smell away, but leaves a lemon scent.
I use this : DampRid Fragrance Free Moisture Absorber 4 lb. Hi-Capacity Bucket - For Fresher, Cleaner Air in Large Spaces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PYDDCXJVZHESM8V07Z43?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'd love like to see someone try Ozium spray on a bag with fufu smell and hear the results (I haven't gotten a fufu-y rep yet!): https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Air-Sanitizer-Oz-Spray/dp/B07B66KHXM/
My fiance and I used this on his cousin's car when he needed us to sell it on his behalf (long story). His car had fabric seats and reeeeeked of cigarette smoke. This stuff worked a near miracle; we used it twice to remove the smell.
I read once (somewhere?) that ozone treatment rooms are also used by specialty dry cleaners to remove terrible, entrenched odors; e.g. sweat smells on hockey team gear etc.
Only caution is that this is powerful stuff, need to do in a very well-ventilated place and not inhale. (I.e., use it outdoors on a sunny day, e.g. on a deck.)
I put this in the litter compartment box in the front near the filter. No smell issues.

Ozium. I use this when my tenants have been smoking in my apartment. https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Air-Freshener-Sanitizer-oz/dp/B0143M9KP6
But I also spray down what you can with a cleaner like 409 and give it a good scrubbing.

There are some products that absorb odors - they are usually a gel or beads that absorb. It could help a lot. I use lavender ones.
I use these, Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel, 15 oz. - Special Value 2-Pack https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000I9QJ5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_As07FbYXS2NFD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

get a 6 ounce bottle of glade solid air freshener, it costs 82 cents. It might be cheaper than the shipping cost, and your house can smell nice
You can actually buy a big thing of desiccant at most home improvement stores, Walmart or amazon.
DampRid FG50T Hi-Capacity Moisture Absorber, 4-Pound Tub https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.AgFCb3XPYDYE
That sounds like an absolute nightmare. I would recommend checking in with other neighbors and coming up with a plan, have everyone call the police, or talk to them, or have everyone call the building manager/owner. Also find out of there is a law in your city where if the police are called more than once on a noise disturbance they can fine/ticket the people each time they are called. Lastly, have one of those Air-Horn cans that you can order from amazon, and when they get loud in the hallway, open your door and blast them with a wave of sound. It will shock the shit out of them and I bet they will shut up.
i put weather sealing adhesive plastic strips around the existing carbon strips, at the opening to the bin. this creates a tighter seal and prevents odor from seeping out.
i also put duct tape (black gorilla tape) on the inside of the bin to block the air vent (where the carbon filter is located. removed the carbon filter first). this is the main place smell seeps out of.
and inside the bin itself, in the space beside the carbon filter, i placed one of these smell removal gel jars. they smell like ointment at first but after 2 days have no smell and totally neutralize the litter smell. https://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Wave-Odor-Removing-Gel/dp/B000I9QJ5S
Ozium air purifier works great, actually purifiers the air, not just cover up scent.
Of course cleaning the pan immediately, wiping down the stove, counters, etc. but that’s kind of a challenge if roommate isn’t cleaning up. Also taking out the trash immediately and turning on the fan. This seems like it would really be less of an issue if roommate actually cleaned up straight away!
use moisture absorber. Put it in a box. leave it overnight. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=emc_b_5_i
It will absorb the moist.
When I still had a car (Toyota Camry) I'd hotbox it a lot. Used a Gonzo Odor Eliminator; left it on the ledge behind the backseats & the sun recharged it all the time. My sister always said my car smelt like a dentist's office. 🤷🏻♀️
Stay safe & 🖖
The cheapest thing on my list is this air freshener that is 97 cents! Hehe. A random fact about me.. hm.. I really like colors, and I have weird knees that have always popped all the time, lol! Thanks for hosting! :)
Try a different litter. What are you using?
Also: I swear by these. Put one of those in the waste drawer underneath the bag, they last about 2-3 weeks each and they actually do a hell of a job of nuking any smells lingering.
I told a mechanic about a used car that I had looked at, but was turned off due to the STRONG smell of cigarette smoke. He immediately replied that this product, Ozium, worked, as he was a smoker himself. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B66KHXM/ref=psdc_15735121_t2_B008XNZZ7O
Pasting this from another thread:
^^^ This stuff works, specifically this one. Dont bother with any of the sprays or other scents. Ill open this up with the windows closed and let it circulate before I start a indoor session, get my stuff ready then ill open the window a little. Ill finish my session and open the window full to clear my room, seal up the tub and close the window. I love with people and people come to visit and dont notice at all.
4) I dont take any of those precautions in my car. (Though I wouldnt recommend vaping on a solo in a car). Ill have sessions in my car with the windows up and air on circulate and it wont smell when im done. By the time I get out of my car and open the door, I could go in the house, change my clothes and take someone in my car without them noticing a smell as long as I didnt spill any bud.
Ah, that makes more sense.
So, you could install a small fan in the window to help minimize the sound in the bathroom. Obviously, that won't help with smells, which you probably don't want being blown into the kitchen. Best option that I can think of for the smells is Poopouri spray . It coats the surface of the toilet water with oil, so it traps any smells.
Alternatively, you could install a super-cheap accordion style door on the laundry room, for under $100
Try some Ozium air sanitizer. Get the original scent.

https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Air-Freshener-Sanitizer-oz/dp/B0143M9KP6
Try Ozium. It works great and smoke is one of the things it’s specifically designed to handle. Ozium has both spray and a canister versions. Try using the spray on your clothes and get a few of the canisters as well. Place one in your closet to help prevent future smelliness; change it out as needed. Place others where they make the most sense, perhaps even inside a vent that you suspect goes between your spaces. The spray is noticeable smell-wise right after use (I personally don’t mind it) but it does dissipate so if you’re particularly sensitive perhaps use it before you’ll be out of the house for a bit.
Available right on Amazon:

Damp-Rid is great stuff! We leave a tub in the bathroom behind the toilet and it sucks all the moisture out of the air.
https://www.amazon.com/DampRid-FG50T-Hi-Capacity-Moisture-Absorber/dp/B0029EGUNG
Someone recommended Ozium Air Sanitizer from Amazon at some point and stated it works quite well.
$16 shipped on Amazon if you have Prime. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0143M9KP6/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1BR7QKSK7V7W&colid=25RZYO554YZJD&psc=1
Do you still have the box that the case came in? As well as the foam inserts for said box? If so, the case box + foam is the perfect transportation / storage option. Just put the foam on your PC case, and place it into the box. Secure the box, and place it in an elevated location where there isn't too much humidity. You can purchase one of these which should last a long time, and leave it in the same area as the PC. I have used these, and they work great. You should be good otherwise. Best of luck, stay safe, and thank you for your service!
Oh I thought the idea was to take the air from the vent and push it through the bucket so the bucket of ona gel will deodorize it. So i want the fan pointed away form the bucket?
Also and recommendation on which smell to get? https://www.amazon.com/Ona-Gel-Pro-30-oz/dp/B00AC1N4DM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511129479&sr=8-3&keywords=ona+gel
Sop the water out and check it any time it rains. Get several pails of desicant to start sucking up the moisture. You can find such in the paint section and you can recharge it in your oven if funds are tight. That should hold till the shop is ready, it's probably something simple like the trunk gasket.
Ona Gel kept outside the closet will neutralize any odors that leak out into the room. If kept inside the grow closet you may have chemical-tasting buds.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0143M9KP6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3-nozb9Z5K085
I smoke in my car, bathroom, and sometimes my room When there is no neighbors out. It's a really good solution and works quite well based off my past experiences with it.
Ozium is AMAZING. I think the creators of it were car detailers. It takes smoke smell away really well. Fairly neutral scent. I cant stand apple pie/baked goods sprays for the bathroom. I don't want to associate apple pie with poop.
Carry one of these in your utility belt.
That shit works.^No^pun^intended.
I used to have the exact same problem as you, then I bought this product: https://www.amazon.com/Gonzo-Odor-Eliminator-Non-Toxic-Fragrance/dp/B0061UMTVG
You can buy it at Home Depot/Lowes. It's basically a bag of volcanic rock that traps bad odors in the air. It has a ring at the top of the bag so I clipped it at the back of the cage where you can't see it (and out of reach from the rats). Within a few hours, it was as if I had no rats to create a smell! You could only smell them if you put your nose right up to the cage. This product is great too because if the rocks are no longer working, you can set them in the sun outside for a few hours to release the smell from the rocks and you can use them like new again over and over.
ozium is definitely available on the US Amazon site, is it different in Canada? https://www.amazon.com/Ozium-Sanitizer-Airborne-Eliminates-Freshener/dp/B0143M9KP6/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1470615827&sr=1-1&keywords=ozium
You wanna know what really works? THIS SHIT https://www.amazon.com/Hollister-Odor-Eliminator-Spray-Unscented/dp/B002ZUEQTE
Its weird (manufactured by a medical company, made for people with ostomies I think) but it really gets rid of any smell. Game changer for your bathroom. They do make a scented version too which smells nice but you don't actually NEED the scent to cover anything up.
OZIUM : BUY IT (and a Smoke Buddy)
I bought the vanilla scented Ozium, and it works far better than Febreeze. I could still smell pot even after spraying all over my room with Febreeze, but Ozium really does just make it go away. Not to mention Febreeze sprays liquid everywhere, whereas Ozium just mists into the air. Read the reviews as well!
Hm. LOTS of DampRid in your lens cases and camera bag. Possibly someone makes a version with antifungal stuff in it? Hm.
I would ask a couple of pro photographers... HEY! I know a pro photographer who worked in Bali for a couple of years. I'll ask him.
Can you get the little dehumidifers, that have the little balls in them? Kind of like this We could find them in pretty much any store in our city, it helps.
30F is when a lot of strains start to smell. Most stinky smells are just the weed. But if you specifically smell mold then thats when you need to be worried.
If you dont have a carbon filter ONA pro gel is next best thing to manage the odor.
http://www.amazon.com/Ona-Gel-Pro-1-Quart/dp/B00AC1N4DM/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1448298092&sr=1-1&keywords=ona+pro+gel
Decorate your house with buckets of Damp Rid?
I was able to get by with maybe 4-5 beach towels and then leaving one of these in the front seat for a few weeks. As far as I can tell, there is no odor.
http://www.amazon.com/DampRid-FG50T-Hi-Capacity-Moisture-Absorber/dp/B0029EGUNG/
Let me tell you the story of how something similar happened to me (with less catastrophic damage). I had a vehicle that was having a mildew problem and so I bought a large container of a product known as DampRid and placed it securely in the car so that I could still drive it. Well one day I was driving to my parents home in a semi rural area and where I was supposed to take a left, an on coming car was heading my way. I stopped with my indicators on and waited for the car to pass. Right when our cars were almost next to each other, I get slammed from behind by another car. The bucket of DampRid in the back seat EXPLODED and shot the pellets everywhere. That was fun to clean up and don't think I got them all.
Yup, pretty much. It kinda eliminates the smell also instead of just covering it up.
Here is it at Amazon if you want to read some reviews.
Wow we usually wash the sheets about every 4 weeks. You must have some major moisture! You need some Damp-Rid. http://www.amazon.com/DampRid-FG50T-Hi-Capacity-Moisture-Absorber/dp/B0029EGUNG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404582205&sr=8-3&keywords=damp+rid
I use damprid. I have seen it at Lowes, however I believe Amazon has it cheaper. That is if you have room in your safe for a big bucket of desiccant.
