I use this system. It is a Reverse Osmosis system that re-mineralizes the water to add alkalinity and flavor, while remaining scale-free (so far for me). As a bonus, it includes a permeate pump so as to reduce waste water. It also uses a larger tube diameter that increases flow rate. It gives me a source of delicious filtered water on tap, and a perfect solution for coffee and espresso as I do not have to worry about descaling.
If you don’t need a plumbed machine, any reverse osmosis system with a re-mineralizing phase should do the trick - I just happened to pick this one.
Check out this one, it's serious business filtering and was fairly easy to install. With the permeate pump the water waste is cut to 2:1 and the flow rate out the tap is plenty fast. The only thing that's a little jarring is that you get room temperature water out of the tank instead of cold.

Get something with a non-electric permeate pump, saves tons of water.
which RO system do you have? I think i narrowed down my choice to the home master RO system based on user reviews on another coffee forum. From what i've learned is that it leaves minerals from tap behind which is ideal. My main use is for pour over and drinking water so i don't have to worry about scaling. thanks for your input!
I love this one. It has great reviews, it's compact, and supposedly is a 1:1 production ratio meaning it wastes 1 gallon of water for every 1 gallon of filtered water it produces. This is actually very good as most systems are 3:1. The pressure is very good with the pressurized tank and it is relatively easy to install yourself.
Awesome, I was looking at that one and this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N2941T2
100% get a reverse osmosis system. I’ve had this one for 4 years and love it… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2941T2/.
My very rich friend who’s always drank bottled water because of how much they hated other waters, loved our water so much they bought one. They just moved into their $3 million home and bought another one.
Plus, they’re in Phoenix, AZ so shipping comes fast. They also have ridiculously good customer service. You can call or email and they respond right away and give away replacements without question.
You can also buy directly from them… https://www.theperfectwater.com
