I think I only topped them twice? Maybe even once. They just naturally grew so bushy I didn't have to top many times. After topping I bent all the branches outward and that's about it.

I've been happy with these elastic trellis things in my tent to keep things upright. I've definitely heard of people chopping the top of a plant first and leave the rest to mature though. I'd like to try it and see if it makes a difference with the shitty buds near the bottom.
