• For those of you that are hands on & would like to save some cash, this is the oil change guide for you.
• Before we take anything apart, let’s make sure we have all the tools we need for the job.

• TOOLS:
• Drain Plug: 13mm wrench/socket
• Torque wrench with range at least from 30Nm(22 ft-lbs) to 25Nm (18.44 ft-lbs)
• Oil Filter Wrench:
T1N 02’-06’ OM-612/647/651/M272 motor 14 flutes 74.5mm
NCV3 07’ & up OM-642 motor 14 flutes 84mm
• Oil filter for OM-642: OX380D
• Motor oil: In accordance with MB 229.XX series spec sheets
• Funnel • Waste Receptacle (At least 13qts)
• Rags • Absorbent mat to catch any spills (optional)
• Eye protection, long sleeves & gloves (optional)

• PROCEDURES:
• Ensure you have the correct specified tools/consumables listed above before taking anything apart.
• Warm up vehicle by letting it run for 10 mins (oil flows at a higher rate when warm)
• Place absorbent mat & waste receptacle below oil pan.
• Once waste receptacle is in optimal spot to catch oil, use your 13mm tool to remove drain plug slowly. Let it flow into the waste receptacle.
• Now we'll move to the engine bay.
• Remove/move air box elbow (Don't forget electrical connector & two pop tabs)
• Use Oil Cap Filter Wrench to remove oil cap, using rags to catch any spillage.
• Replace both O-Rings & the filter.
• Reinstall oil cap (pushing down & turning clockwise)
• Torque to correct specs (listed on your oil cap)
• Replace washer on the drain plug & reinstall plug. Torque to specs.
• Grab your funnel & begin pouring in oil through oil fill port.
• Once you get to about 11-12 quarts start checking dip stick frequently (qty is dependent on your specific oil amount)
• Ensure oil line is at about HALF.
• Reinstall air box.
• Once you drive your vehicle & it gets to driving temps the oil will expand. Check dip stick oil level after your next drive. If needed, add. If you overfilled immediately take it to a shop or use an oil extractor pump to remove excess.

• EDIT: At 17:02 I said "oil fill port" instead of "dip stick port"
