I think you're wrong and I have a pretty good example I think.
See ecologists, they organize, they march on the streets. Do they get shit done ? No. Even though most of young people see themselves as ecologists, no way they change anything.
See, if only they (as a group) were more culturate about marxism, leninism, revolution, how the bourgeoisie and the state maintain their power, syndicalism and systemic, they'd understand that non-violent protesting and smoking weed will never solve the ecology problem. And I think that the only reason we're not on our way to a more sustainable world is because they're not curious enough about previous revolutions (black people fighting for their lives, indian people fighting for their independance, etc.) and still think that non-violence bullshit.
I read How to blow a pipeline (link) so I might be a tad influenced towards violent ecologist revolution.
>1) unless society is radically restructured, the world is going to end within the next century due to climate change
There's even a recent and reasonably-popular book advocating for climate terrorism, and while I haven't read it yet the title claims to inform you how to do so effectively, but so far no one seems to have bothered trying.
Yes, and in the meantime, it's time for riots. We the 99%, even the 90%, vastly outnumber the super wealthy that are causing this.
Destroy pipelines, stop working, riot. Desperate times call for desperate measures. https://www.amazon.com/How-Blow-Pipeline-Andreas-Malm/dp/1839760257
The big concern I've got right now is that last week's Ezra Klein column has gotten a lot of people reading How to Blow Up a Pipeline, and thinking about whether continued strategic nonviolence is the right course of action. There are enough activists that it's fairly likely that some are going to give up on nonviolence.
Either we regulate pollutants extra-constitutionally or we don't regulate pollutants.
Come on Ezra....go to the dark side....you are so close.....

Who says do nothing? I'm only saying your approach is not nearly good enough.
Go ahead and do it, more power to you, but your approach works within the confines of the very system that is causing climate change in the first place. Green capitalism will not save us.
Here's some books for you. How to Blow Up A Pipeline
