I will be starting grad school soon, in the fall. Over the past 2years I've been compiling some resources for grad school and learning new skills that will hopefully help me succeed. Here are some resources I've found.
try using a zettelkasten. It's an efficient note taking method for retaining long term knowledge.
I took a technical writing course for publication, and this book has been a godsend:
Other graduate writing resources:
[How to write a thesis](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WKJU6FI/ref=cm_sw_
Systematic Approaches to a Successful Literature Reviewr_apan_glt_T46BNEHDZ1ARCTNS80F8)
Also learn how to use a reference manager like zotero if you haven't already. And regarding note taking apps, i don't like notion b/c its web-based and i do not trust that it's private. There are plenty of other note-taking apps that do not require you to make an account to use them. Some of them are linked in the Zettelkasten link above. You just have to find the one that works best for you.
You could also learn typesetting with latex. It has a learning curve but is very good for managing and formating large documents like a book or thesis. I started learning it last year and it's been amazing (I hate Microsoft word with a passion)
Note: I typed this on mobile. If there are any issues with the links lmk so i can edit or Dm them to you.
