I was having a battery issue and picked up one of these to carry around just in case. Worked great the few times I needed it.

I’ve since fixed the issue but it came in handy.
I carry this in my car. I was lucky and got an Amazon lightning deal, but I love it. I’ve used it numerous times for my son’s car, neighbors who wake up with a dead battery, and a few strangers along the way. It works great and it’s easy. You can also charge your phone and it has a flashlight. I’m getting one for my wife’s new car next month.
Learned the hard way in my 2017 Volt when it was new and had some teething issues -- some kind of fuse blew and the high voltage wasn't able to top off low voltage, but you could still drive around.
At least until the 12V battery went too low then all hell broke loose, this happened as I was driving down the highway. Whole problem could have been solved with a jumper pack and saving about 3 hours of my life and a ride in a tow truck to the dealership.
I personally went with this one - about $100 and love it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M41FX48/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Get a jump pack. They’re small. Fits in your glove box. Most can also charge your phone. I bought my daughter one at Costco for $100. Here is a size comparison.

But to answer your question, yes, the city is less helpful than the small town’s. I grew up in a small town. So I know exactly what you mean.

You should get one of these
HULKMAN Alpha85 Jump Starter 2000... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M41FX48?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This battery jump starter is my essential winter equipment. It can start my car and it can charge my phone so I can call for help.
I wish I purchased this slightly more expensive version that's designed for cold weather: it has the additional feature that you can press a button and it will warm itself up in 5 minutes, so the battery is then able to start the car. It works for temperatures as low as -40F.
(I have no affiliation with the product.)
This is the one I bought: HULKMAN $120 on Amazon. There's another model for people who live in very cold places: it self-heats which makes the battery functional.
Remembering to keep it charged isn't really an issue IMO. The HULKMAN has a large display that shows the % remaining. Each start takes about 12%. I haven't owned it long enough to know, but it is supposed to lose very little charge between uses. You know when it needs recharging.
The HULKMAN is 4" x 9" x 2". The cables plug into it and are compact, only a foot long. It all fits easily into the center console of my Sienna.
Edit: This is the cold-weather version, $150 on Amazon. It's supposed to be good down to -40f.
Both are rated at 20,000 amps, enough power for a 8.5 liter gas engine or 6 liter diesel.
I have no connection with anything, no financial interest.
We have a Tesla and had to jump my ICE vehicle, this device worked great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M41FX48
I have a Dewalt air compressor/jump starter and it didn't work at all (on a full charge)
Tesla's (and prob most other EVs) have a 12 volt battery. I read it wasn't recommended to use that to jump start a vehicle though.
