I bought an adapter on Amazon. It was ~$30. It works pretty well. There's a bit of wobble if I bang the desk, but I'm not worried about it falling out. I don't trust it enough to put the monitor in portrait mode though.
Edit: the Amazon description doesn't list this monitor, but the vendor's website lists the D2717H/X for this mount.
I don't think it has built-in VESA mount screw holes, but Amazon seems to sell an adapter that would attach where the base does. (out of stock for the one I linked I guess)
Did you come up with a solution?
I would just get a dual arm vesa mount. I've bought a couple ones from Amazon with good results.
Edit: also, I didn't realize that there are adapters for mounting a lot of monitors without traditional vesa mounts. For example:
HumanCentric VESA Mount Adapter for Dell SE2416HX, SE2717HX, SE2717H, S2216M, SE2716H, SE2216H, S2817Q, SE2417HG, S2316M, S2316H, SE2416H and More [Patented] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DAYR3ZM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DQESCbS3H4500
Actually looks like Dell has a specific monitor mount for this monitor, but it costs 4x as much as the Primecables mount I added.
I assume this means I can remove the monitor stand (Its a Dell S2340L monitor).
I dont know if I trust that one over the first one I posted.
This one is compatible. I believe the model isn't listed an amazon's page, but the vendor's site lists this monitor as compatible. The wobble's not too terrible. I notice every couple of days that my monitor is slightly askew and just fix it by hand.
I wouldn't recommend portrait mode, as the adapter just slides into place and there's no bolt.
Indeed, it does. Nice find.
Quick, I'd better find something wrong with it so I don't just buy it on impulse...
edit: actually found something, no VESA mounting -_- they still make monitors without that?! Still a great catch tho
edit 2: adapter for $32. Hmm.
There is an adapter plate on Amazon
Not by default. There's an adaptor on Amazon for $32. It does wobble a bit, so I wouldn't recommend putting it in portrait mode.
Your lucky I stubbled upon this post. I have a Dell S2316h, which is very similar to your monitor. Although they aren't VESA compatible you can buy VESA adapters. This is what I have done with my monitor. The one I bought was from amazon in the link below which will work with yours also as stated in the title

You can buy vesa adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-SE2416HX-SE2717HX-SE2717H-SE2417HG/dp/B01DAYR3ZM. There are also more universal ones out there. However I have zero experience with these.
Confirmed, I tried looking around for a cheaper price but I didn't really find anything.

These are the ones I used, I found them cheaper though on Ebay. I got two for $35 shipped.
