I wear these in the summer to climb communications towers. The grip on them is really good. I've never tried throwing a disc with them though, I would think they are too grippy.
They absolutely suck for cold weather though. I wear wool liners with mechanix gloves for working in cold weather. For disc golf I just keep my hands in my hoody pocket or use one of these.
