I have the Sony Pulse 3D headset and this pair from HyperX.

The Cloud Flights are definitely more comfortable, but I do prefer the audio on the Pulse 3D headset.

Another note is that brands other than Sony are not as well integrated with the PS5. For example, when I turn off the Pulse 3d headset, the sound automatically goes to my TV speakers, other headsets, you need to take out the USB dongle everytime you want to switch. Might not be a deal breaker but it is nice not having to plug/unplug the USB everytime.

Hyper X Flight S wireless - currently on sale on Amazon for $169.50. I have this headset and main thing is its excellent battery life, decent mic quality and acceptable audio quality. Has hardware buttons for muting the mic, turning mic monitoring on / off as well as game / chat balance.

Also supports wireless charging which I thought initially was a gimmick but it's actually pretty useful to just be able to plonk them onto my wireless charger every now and then to top it up. Never had to consciously think about charging it overnight.

If you’re looking for something wireless, I have both the Hyperx Cloud Flight and the Cloud Flight S and while they aren’t the absolute best sounding headphones I own, they are still quite decent (especially for the price) and both have an excellent microphone.

I mostly only got the S version because I wanted to use the original as my Zoom/Teams headphones for work due to the microphone being so good. For the price difference id generally recommend the S unless you want to be able to connect wired, which for whatever reason only the original can do.

Discord is definitely better than the in-game chat at least from my experience. Any halfway decent headset with a mic should be fine. I like hyperx personally, but I'm sure others will chime in with more.

What I'm using currently.

Hyper X Cloud Flight S is also on sale for $120 down from $160. Main differences are

• Slight change in headband/cushion design
• Qi wireless charging
• No light up red logo (a plus for battery life)
• Extra customizable buttons on headset for things like media/mic mute/etc

Mic quality, audio quality, battery life should be similar between the two

HyperX Cloud Flight S is probably your best bet atm. It’s still a new space, I would imagine we’ll be seeing much better options coming out in next couple of years.
