The XM3 are the best wireless headphones on the planet in literally every aspect you are looking for besides gaming id say. But for the possible upcoming XM4, I am not sure what to say towards that. Obviously it’ll be better, but by how much and if that much is worth waiting another several months, especially till possibly AFTER your upcoming flights in August.
As for gaming, if it’s PC or console, get yourself a good HyperX headset since your budget is $450. I really have no idea how the XM3s handle gaming. But I own the XM3s and they are the absolute best you can get with wireless ANC headphones. If you are NEEDING a pair of amazing headphones, get the XN3s now. But if it absolutely isn’t necessary and you can wait; wait for the XM4.

HyperX Cloud II are highly recommended by this community. Picked one up for myself a few weeks ago and they are great, very comfortable for long gaming sessions
Here is amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494099812&sr=8-2&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
Just to be clear, the only HyperX wireless headphones are the Cloud Flight, nonetheless, as stated in Amazon by a HyperX agent, they just work wired with the Nintendo Switch.
I just bought the HyperX Cloud 2 wired and they are amazing for the price, really comfortable. Amazon has them as a prime deal
I use the Hyper X Cloud II headset. Amazon link Don't worry about the price, it's often on sale on Amazon for maybe 60 bucks.
I've tried a couple of different headsets and they all pinched my ears. The Hyper X is sooo soft, it covers my whole ear and is like a soft cushion around it. I'd recommend it a hundred times, also for its quality all around.
You will probably get some more help from /r/Gaming_Headsets if you want some people who probably know more about this stuff. But I would personally recommend some Hyper Xclouds they are really good for headsets, and mic is great at not picking up any external noise.
Hyper X Cloud 2 is one of the best in the business bunch of people swear by em a bunch of esports pros swear by em and I’ll highly recommend. Right now they’re even 10 bucks off on amazon.

I think I've found what you're talking about. HyperX Cloud II, right? This is defiantly in the budget. Do I need to do anything with software, or if I buy these, can I just plug and play?
I currently have these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Mobile/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1443368162&sr=8-2&keywords=headset+kingston
They are comfortable, have very good audio quality and work on most devices (think you need an adapter for them to connect to the Xbox One).
Everyone always talks up the golds, but the Kingston HyperX Cloud II is a fantastic headset. Yes, it's wired but it goes directly into your controller, and it never dies, I actually consider it a plus. The sound quality is better than the golds, they're MUCH more comfortable than the golds with memory foam and leather padding. They're a plug and go headset that is a much better buy in my opinion.

If you want budget, then you're stuck with gaming headphones as those are budget, if you stray outside of that you get into headphones + amp + mic territory. The best budget friendly gaming headphones right now are the Hyper X Cloud 2, it has good sound, a built in DAC, and a detatchable microhphone.
On top of that, they're on sale right now.
I've had 2 in the last decade. Mic went out in first, but it's still good. I use one of the higher end hyperx wireless headsets now and it's good for a wireless headset, just took some getting used to and it's not as great.
I personally use [HyperX Cloud 2's] I love them because I can pretty much tell you the exact pinpoint direction a sound comes from in the game, they are comfortable headphones as well.
On the cord itself, there's a button for you to Turn ON or Off 7.1 surround sound.
I'm sure you can get a cheaper gaming headset and use that too, but make sure it lets you turn off 7.1 surround sound.
Some streamers use such as Psychoghost uses Sennheiser headphones. Other streamers use AudioTechnicas etc. I know RachtaZ uses hyperX cloud 2's as well.
What are your requirements / preferences?
If you're fine with wireless, the HyperX Cloud II is normally priced at $100, available on Amazon for $70 right now.
Might be wrong but Amazon is showing Cloud 2 Wireless for $99?
A little bit over your budget but some great headphones in my opinion. For $40 it’s not a bad headset. A lot of the comments paint an accurate description of the quality. The ear cups didn’t start falling off my until maybe 1.5 years in, but I gamed almost every day for a few hours. The sound quality wasn’t bad and is probably better than most others within the price range.
Playing with my buddies, they did comment often on how weird my mic sounded at times. Sometimes it sounded clear and crisp to them and on other days they reported me as sounding muffled.
Amazon currently has the HyperX Cloud II wired headset for $59.00, I have these and I think they’re a much better headset although the wire is super long and can be annoying.
Second this. I use Hyper X headsets exclusively. The leather and aluminum construction has lasted me almost 7 years and shows no signs of wearing down anytime soon, and I’m gaming anywhere from 10-15 hours a week. And for the price, it’s by far one of the best bang-for-your-buck brands around.

I've enjoyed these. I hope the link is okay. It's not affiliated.
I use my XM3s inside when listening to music, podcasts, or ASMR; or when watching YouTube, films and TV shows, etc.
When I’m outside, I use my IEM headphones (similar to earbuds), namely the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, which are fantastic.
The XM3s and the XM4s (they’re not that different) are not good for use in cold weather as it can mess with the controls, I’ve heard. They also have no IP rating, so they shouldn’t be used in rain, even light rain, or anywhere where water may splash on them or moisturize can build up.
And for gaming, you definitely need a low-latency set of wired headphones unless you’re just gaming casually. I recommend the HyperX Cloud II, which are an extremely common headset that is six years old now, so they’re pretty cheap ($88 on Amazon US). I’ve used these for five years, and they’re absolutely fantastic. I own three pairs, and my brother has two pairs. They’re pretty sweet for gaming, but I also used them for listening to music, and everything else, before I got wireless earbuds and my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones.
For $15 more you can get the cloud ii which i do believe are much better in terms of build quality and sound quality. Its not for audiophiles but still better than cloud stinger core
You're in luck -- HyperX Cloud II -- $80 on Amazon US at the time of this post.
Been using for about a year now -- very comfortable, sound great, mic works great -- cable is 3.5mm and can be used with game controller, tablet, phone, etc -- also comes with USB dongle that simulates 7.1 sound.
I don't know what black magic fuckery goes into simulated surround sound but it is a trip-and-a-half to hear bushes rustling behind and to the left of you with just a pair of headphones.
If these broke tomorrow, I would buy another set in a minute.
I'm looking into some too. My HyperX Clouds broke and I would buy again 100%. The Cloud 2 are on sale for $105 ($120 for the other color). They are like wearing butter on your head. I've tried a few headsets, not a lot, but none feel as comfortable as these.
Want a good head set for about the same price? hyper X these are absolutely amazing, I have the dual pulse and these. Tried them both out and the hyper X are by far superior in my ears.
The only gaming headset I'll ever recommend is the HyperX Cloud. I would normally skip the getting the 2, because virtual surround sound is a gimmick and the speakers in them are good enough you don't need it. It's on Amazon Prime Day sale right now, which is why I am recommending it though. It's what I got for my girlfriend, and they're amazing quality for the money.
Are you sure that Amazon India helps after 10 days? I am looking for a more definitive answer. I will repeat my question again, Is there any HyperX service center in India?
Also, the amazon product says no warranty for some reason? https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00SAYCXWG
I use a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3, that I got for my home office. They’re really nice, but there are other options that work really well. My brother in law uses these and they sound really good too. Beyond that you’d have to look up reviews.
1) Today was the first day, I went no-poo and I conditioned my hair and added styling gel. I realized after diffusing that the curls on my hair were pretty defined and looked nice but my hair itself is still dull, dry and a bit frizzy.
I did not do the reset wash yet (waiting for the product to ship) but I'm thinking either it's because of that or that I didn't use enough conditioner (or gel?) to prevent the dryness/frizz?
Would either of those contribute to that? I know I am still very curly in the process. I'm just curious on what I could be doing wrong and what to improve.
2) I have a habit of tying up my hair when I'm doing work or need to focus, how bad is this for curly hair?
3) I wear huge headphones for work. I'm thinking now these might weigh down my curly hair on top when wearing them. Should I go again and buy regular earphones instead because of this or should this not be a major issue? (These are the ones I wear: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG?ref=emc_p_m_5_i)
Wow! Things got serious right now lol. Purchasing power is our bleeding wound. I really wonder should your economic situation be very good to be able to afford this? Because same headset's price is equal to %37 of Turkey minimum wage. Can you image that?
Edit: There is no minimum hourly wage in Turkey. The amount I stated is the total amount of money you will receive at the end of the month. It's fixed!
It's this one. The fake digital surround sound on the card is useless and sounds much better off, but it's good to have for physical mute/volume functions and microphone integration.

My personal favorite headset I’ve ever owned
I generally would recommend headphones and an attachable microphone such as antlion modmic but if you're set on a headset then;
This It’s the headset I have. The HyperX Cloud II. It’s currently $90.42 on Amazon. I’m no a “pro” gamer but I do like playing competitively. It gets the job done and more. It has surround sound and the audio quality is superb. The mic also quite good. You can look at the reviews if you’re not convinced.
Try the hyper X Cloud II. I have had mine for at least 6-7 years and the size adjuster doesnt even hold anymore because I've used them so much Ive had to duck tape it to hold. Sound quality is pretty solid, mic is detachable, simulated 7.1 surround sound through the sound card in the usb cord if you like using it, I have used it both on and off. Headset is pretty comfortable and the best part is I got them on sale on amazon for like 70 bucks. I'm gonna need another pair of these soon once my current one falls apart. Many friends I have recommended to get this headset and every one that has loves it. Easily the best budget "gaming" headset I have ever used and replacement parts like new padding or a microphone dongle or new cords are all available on amazon or the hyperx website.
Here is the amazon link to them if anyone is interested
Does it have to be from Argos? You can get the Hyper X Cloud 2’s from Amazon for under £100. They’re probably not the best on the market, but they’re the best and most comfortable affordable headset that I’ve ever had. Three years on and they’re still going strong.
HyperX Cloud II all the way. I’ve had both the HyperX Cloud I and II and can say that these are quality at affordable price. I mainly use the headset for Xbox paired with a Turtle Beach adaptor so I can have mic monitoring and volume control between chat and game. The HyperX also comes with adaptor to use with Pc so swapping over to play on the rig is seamless with plug and play.
These headphones also come with a two year warranty and the one time I had to reach out to customer service, Hyper I mic went out, I was pleasantly surprised. Actually ended up receiving a whole headset.
I’ve got the link to amazon below. Let me know if I can answer any other questions! Good luck on the search!

Noise cancelling headphones are super important. I use the HyperX Cloud 2 headset because it's very comfortable and has good sound quality. If you can afford it, maybe try active noise cancelling headphones?
Hyperx cloud 2. Its the probably the best I've had so far and defintely the most durable. The only problem I have is that I have a wired controller and if you unplug the headset it gets weird. Need to restart console once or twice but it'll work again. Other than that it works great.
I'm in love with my HyperX headset. Affordable, good overall quality and they are comfortable for extended periods of play. There is probably a cheaper tier of headsets that would suit OP better though if he's only using them for 2K.

I have the HyperX Cloud Alpha myself. The clamp was tight so I broke them in using the box, but after 2 days they are super comfortable and the quality is fantastic.
People also recommend the Cloud II. They're currently $110 on Amazon.ca. Stellar reviews, and for that price you really can't go wrong. https://www.amazon.ca/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529758771&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
Hi, thanks for the reply, is this the headset? HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Red https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XThmBbWWNP4HK I’m looking on there and I can’t find anything in the description about a party chat volume slider or w/e its called, can you maybe link me a video or a confirmation about the party chat slider because that is honestly the main selling point for me, USB I don’t really mind but can be annoying sometimes
Maybe the wrong subreddit exactly, because this is more peripherals, but what would you guys recommend as a good headset for gaming? I want something comfortable with a nice, clear mic, I'm not much of an audiophile otherwise, though. And I'm not particular bothered whether it's wired or wireless. I would rather not spend more than £120 on it.
At the moment I've seen people recommend this: HyperX Cloud II, and apparently this brand is like "reddit's favourite" or something looking at some random related threads. Some of the reviews say the mic is quiet, though. Is this a good option to go for? Or is there something better? I'll try and go somewhere so I can actually wear them on my head before purchasing to check whether they're comfortable, but the thing is I live out in the middle of nowhere so it's a long journey to get to a city where there are shops that will sell a decent selection of these, and I want to have an idea of what I'm looking for before potentially just wasting my time.
What do you guys use and what would you recommend?
I have had these for over a year, may be a little to expensive for you but there fantastic. Great sounds and mic quality and won't hurt your ears over long play Times. HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 - Red (KHX-HSCP-RD) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_I3oxAbBD5PX6H
The only thing with the hyperx 2 they have a little flappy part near the ear cup. is that metal or plastic? Im talking about the red part.
You really had to make a thread for this.. the hyper x cloud 2 are the best gaming headphones on the market.. link
Actually I just found the Cloud II's for $69.99. Will the sound card justify that $10 price increase? Does 7.1 Virtual Sound stage and Noise Cancelling/Echo Cancelling Mic via inline Sound Card actually mean anything?
Another option I could have is to just stick with my current headphones (Bose Soundlink Wireless Around Ear II) and get separate mic. Is this a better option than spending $50-70 on a different set of cans?
^^Sorry ^^for ^^asking ^^so ^^many ^^questions...
Ok nice that you already got a pretty good graphics card. An SSD is very nice to have. If you install your windows on the SSD, everything you do, which has something to do with windows is much faster. Just to be clear you can have both a SSD and a 1TB HDD in the same system, it will just work as two different harddisks, so you have the programs you use the most (and windows) on your SSD and the rest of your games, programs, songs and photos on your HDD.
For sound the motherboard will be fine, unless you are like really into audio and have like a pair of $200 headphones and a $100+ microphone, but for average users, it will sound just fine. Just a quick recommendation for a good headset; the HyperX Cloud II(or just the HyperX Cloud) is the best headset you can get for under $100.
HyperX Cloud I ($79.99) or HyperX Cloud II ($99.99). Cloud II's come with a sound card if you need/want one. These are arguably the best headphones for gaming+audio quality. Mic quality is not the greatest but it works well in my experience. They are re-branded Takstar Pro 80's which are great for music/audio fidelity.
I have the Cloud I and the top headband was uncomfortable before wearing it in over time. Cloud II has memory foam on the top headband so it should be more comfortable. Comes with leather earpads with great passive noise cancellation and velour earpads if your ears ever get sweaty. Detachable mic, extension cable, volume control, and a plane adapter. Pretty great deal overall.
I'd throw some more at it just to get a headset you know if on the better side of things. The Hyper X Cloud 2 I usually recommend to people for a sub $100 headset the sound and mic both perform really well for the money. If you're on the "Ill buy the cheap one now and then upgrade later" train but can swing it now, I'd push to get the Hyper X instead. I don't know about those headphones you linked but I've had bad luck with lower priced headsets sounding muddy, faded and having an awful mic. If you can wait for Black Friday (if thats a thing for you) you can usually grab the Hyper X Cloud 2 for around $60-$75 new but if not you can always snag one from the amazon warehouse for $80. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&s=warehouse-deals&ie=UTF8&qid=1504757473&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
I've bought two pair from the warehouse along with many other things including headphones and never had an issue.
Peripherals, as in keyboard and mouse? A good mouse is absolutely an investment worth making. I've spent time with a bad mouse (couldn't play more than 45 minutes without pain) and some very good mice. I've also bought mice when I felt my current one was limiting me in a game. And from all of that, I say that a mouse is going to be one of the most important things in your overall gaming setup.
As for a keyboard? Nah, keyboards are mostly for features (customizable LEDs, rebinding keys, macros, media keys) over function. I wouldn't invest in an expensive keyboard over something else.
For headphones/headsets, it goes back to the mouse: An ill-fitting pair of headphones is uncomfortable and painful. A bad quality headset is going to have your friends complaining about your shitty microphone and you wondering why all songs sound flat and lifeless. But you can get away with very little: HyperX Cloud II is a very good headset, not only in its price category, but in gaming headsets in general.
I don´t own one my self, but i heard that HyperX´s headsets should be good. HyperX Cloud II for around $100 on Amazon
I bought mine off of Amazon and it appears that they are still at the same price.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: If you want to buy local and there is a Canada Computers near you, they also have them for $109.
Ohh very nice and much more affordable. But not available in UK, they have the Cloud II assuming thats part of the same line, should be okay? And a removable mic, since I'll rarely use it. :D
budget: < €150 ($170 £130)
i have these and i would like just a wireless version that has the same comfort level.
i am not sensitive at all to sound quality, but i am to comfort. purpose is too watch movies at night while rocking baby to sleep. currently using the headset above, but the cord is not practical at all.
After researching it seems the Razer is 7.1 on PC only.
I got these a few weeks ago: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pt2bzbJD2QS1J You'll see one of the answered questions is related to 7.1 and PS4. Yes you can activate 7.1 with this headset however you're not able to use the volume buttons on the USB adapter. You can still use mute though.
I have a pair of the Kingston Hypercloud X2s. I'm very happy with my purchase. Great sound quality, a detachable mic, all for 100$ or less depending on the color. Looks like the black/grey ones are on sale for 60$ now. That's a steal. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493326951&sr=8-1&keywords=hypercloud%2Bx2&th=1 I don't use the provided sound card for 7.1 surround. I just use Razer Synapse for that.
I also looked around for a long time before I bought my current headset. I ended up buying the HyperX Cloud 2's. If you don't know them it's one of the only gaming headsets that audiophiles can tolerate, cause it really is just an actual good quality headphone with a microphone (pretty good too) strapped on.
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 - Red (KHX-HSCP-RD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_H19nybQN6W064
These are amazing headsets. Better than my Razer Kraken 7.1. Its about 860 sek but idk if u guys get taxed more for these products
Did it break where the cup attaches to the band? If so, that's how most of those break, that's how mine broke, it's due to the cheap way they attached it, never will buy one based on that design again because of it.
That being said, I bought a set of HyperX Cloud II's and they are very well made, and work great.
I'm using the HyperX Cloud II Headset and it's working great. Really comfortable (even with my glasses), surround sound is good, sound quality is good (to my mind, at least). It has a 3.5mm plug (so it's good as a normal headset), but comes with a control pad with a USB plug on a very long cable. Noise cancellation is good, though not perfect when used on an airplane.
If I had one complaint, it doesn't have a mic mute button on the headset itself, but there is a mute switch on the control pad.
I did some research a while back, and all of the wireless gaming headphones are a lot more expensive than most of your other wired options, and they tend to be (slightly) less reliable. I've got a pair of HyperX Cloud IIs, and I absolutely love them. Comfortable for long periods of time, great sound, and superb microphone quality.
Pretty sure that if you have the xbox one controller that has the 3.5mm jack, mic monitoring is available with any headset you like.
Personally, I use the Hyper X Cloud II's and they work great.
HyperX Cloud II, review pa lang panalo na.
>So, not so funny story: Someone in the apartment unit above us got STABBED. According to the cop who interviewed us, the attacker rang the upstairs doorbell, and when the guy answered the attacker forced his way in and stabbed the guy. You want to know what scary part is? I didn't hear a thing, thanks to my amazing HyperX Cloud 2 headphones. I got them on Amazon for $99.99 (free shipping). These things work as advertised! Probably the best noise cancelling headphones I've ever owned. 10/10 would buy again.
Hyper X Cloud II are generally regarded as very solid intro headphones under $100. I linked the gray one so it doesn't clash with your build but they also have red/black and pink/white. I would stay away from the Kraken as the audio quality is pretty poor. I do own other Razer products, but don't recommend their headphones.
Check out the HyperX Cloud 2
If that is too high of a price I would definitely recommend getting the headset that came before it. They are very comfortable and great for the price.
Budget: ~~$100-$150
Source: PC
Isolation: This is how much they block / cancel sound? That would be good but not a primary concern.
Type: ....the type that goes on your head and makes sound?
Sound: Whatever the best I can get for my budget is and for learning to do rudimentary audio work.
Past headphones: Terribad ear buds. Nothing to base my preferences on. Anything will be a 500% upgrade at the minimum.
Music: All kinds
I desperately need an upgrade from using my running ear buds on my computer. Mostly just recreational music listening and movies but I've been messing around with some audio editing of music and dialogue and I'm interested in doing more along those lines. Thinking about trying to do some audio book voice work which will probably involve more editing.
I saw a gaming headset Hyper X Cloud II for 40% off, gaming isn't my primary concern but it seems like a good deal.
But I'm wondering how well those would function for the purposes of audio editing / mixing?
(good enough? trash? Is there something far superior at a similar price point?)
Any input appreciated.
The Kingston HyperX Cloud II are widely regarded as some of the best gaming headphones around. They come with a built-in USB soundcard which will provide 7.1 surround. Look up some reviews online or on YouTube, I think you'll be impressed.
These are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used (memory foam). I can wear these for hours at a time without any discomfort. Works great with my PS4 and PC.
Have you heard/considered HyperX Cloud 2. Currently using them. It's a 3.5mm cable which is either a standalone or can be plugged into the included USB sound card (7.1, as well as control for putting up your mic volume, and or game volume, and a button to turn on/off the surround sound). It has a pretty great mic, especially considering its $90. Imo it's pretty well, even if it's not one of the two you're looking for.
The only downside is, its not wireless. Something that I am just now realizing is a feature for both of the headsets you're asking for.
If you can get the Chat Adapter or if you have the native 3.5mm plug on the new controller, my favorite bang for buck are the HyperX Cloud 2 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Mobile/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447082717&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2)
Cheers!
HyperX cloud 2's are fantastic, I use them for both my PC and Xbox one. For a $100 the build quality is fantastic. There's the HyperX clouds for $70, the only difference is they look a little different and mic is slightly lower quality.
These are a great lower priced option headset if you don't really like the Astros. I have had these for almost half a year now and they are just as good as the day I bought them. I did lose the detachable microphone at some point, but I emailed Kingston support and was shipped a new microphone within a week of contacting them for free with no hassle to verify my purchase. They work great with PC, Xbox One, and PS4 with a very easy system for interchanging between PC and console. The great thing about these is that they are not half as expensive as Astros, and still maintain a quality standard that is leaps greater than any other headset in the price range.
The Cloud II's are on sale for $70 on Amazon right now. The USB interface that comes with the set only functions on PC / PS4 as X1 does not support USB DACs, but you can still just forego it and plug the standard 3.5mm into a chat adapter.
The active noise cancelling is a feature of the USB DAC, so while you'll get some passive noise-cancelling, it's why most people hear a lot more background noise while using it on the X1.
This. Hyperx Cloud or Hyperx Cloud II is the one exception to the headphone + mic rule. I have a Could II and it's really nice. Comfortable, clear mic quality, decent sound quality.
Get the Cloud II if it has to be headset, or buy headphones and a mic. Either a nice desktop one or one that can be attached to any pair of headphones.
If you don't mind the white/pink one, it's on sale now for for $74.99 compare to the normal $99.99 price.
Try the HyperX Cloud II. It has 7.1 Surround sound, they come in 3 different colors, of gunmetal, pink/white, and red/black. They are extremely comfortable with memory foam, come with an extra set of ear pads, works with PS4, and XONE, teamspeak certified, can confirm, the sound quality on the mic is amazing, the mic is detachable, and you can use it on your phone or any other mobile device. I personally have them, and they're only $100! Why wouldn't you get them :) http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440889426&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
I see these getting suggested almost everytime.
Are they actually that good? I thought Kingston specialized in Storage devices.
Also, are they sturdy?
Edit: Just saw this http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436566171&sr=8-1&keywords=hyper+x+cloud+2
The HyperX Cloud II meets all of your requirements. It has a long, braided cable with it's own sound and mic volume control, no bass boost, 7.1 surround, and a very solid aluminum frame. It's also large and very adjustable and fits well on my enormous head. It's got 2 types of earpads you can change out depending on your preferences, and a detachable mic.
I'm going to be honest, tl;dr, but if you want a great headset get a Hyperx Cloud II It's cheap, high quality, and ridiculously comfortable. And it has surround sound.
I've had them for a while, only reason i'm really using them is because my HyperX Cloud 2's broke, if you're dead set on Steelseries get these, if you're open to recommendations, get these
those are the best headphones i've owned so far.
I just recently got the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset you should check it out
The Kingston HyperX Cloud is a great headset and works on pretty much every platform. Here's a link to them if you're interested. Note that if you ever get an Xbox One you will need an adapter in order to use this headset with it.

HyperX Cloud II, yo tengo los Cloud Core desde hace 4 años y son macheteros, súper cómodos.
EDIT: Antes los vendían en yoytec, parece que ya no.
It’s a bit of personal preference really. And not many people consider it beyond hooking their headphones or speakers directly to the motherboard, so there isn’t a lot to choose from. This is my personal setup:
https://www.newegg.com/creative-sound-blaster-z/p/N82E16829102048
https://www.klipsch.com/products/klipsch-promedia-2-1-thx-certified-computer-speaker
When my wife is watching tv I use these:
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG
If you are using a usb headset or audio through hdmi a sound card won’t benefit you at all.
Here are some options for a usb sound card (or DAC (digital analog converter)) again these will be just for hooking speakers up. Another option for speakers is to look for “powered monitor” type speakers. I’m not wealthy so I don’t have any experience with them. You will have to look at reviews to find good ones.
The HyperX Cloud II has a wider frequency response than the G430 at both ends so bass and treble will be clearer/more detailed/less grainy. Here are some good reviews about them:
http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-gaming-headset/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64wnwW0Y6n8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI4jM8noFxA
If you can get them for less than $100 they're a good deal. On Amazon for example they're going for $80 + shipping/taxes.
You could always get the Cloud II's now and maybe save up for an "audiophile" set of cans like the AD900x or similarly sub-$200 wide-soundstage open-backs like the Sennheiser HD598/AKG Q701 + say a ModMic 4.0 ($40 boom mike that you can attach to any set of cans).
I have a pair of Hyper X Cloud 1st gen headset I love. After watching Linus Tech Tips review of them I bought them. The 2nd Gen is currently on Amazon for $90 and I think the first gen which I have are a bit cheaper.
Removable mic, carrying bag, extension cord, splitter, USB adapter thing I think, extra ear pads, great box. Very worth the money IMHO.
I use them almost everyday for ateast 4 hours and they are by far the comfiest I've used personally. Never have sweaty ears, head never hurts, etc.
Looks like it's $69.99 on Amazon

Cloud 2s are actually $95 on Amazon - highly recommend them!
Depends if you want a more competitive (better soundstage)/less "fun" headset or a less competitive/more "fun" headset. Simply put, open back headphones will generally be more competitive and have less bass, whereas closed back headphones will generally be less competitive and have more bass.
I see HyperX headsets talked about a lot. I'm not sure which model everyone recommends, but currently the Cloud II is $139.99. You could price match Amazon (or another retailer if they are even less) and get it for about ~$50 + tax (or less if another retailer).
The other option (but much more expensive) is the Sennheiser Game Ones (if they get more stock at BB). The Game Ones are open back headphones, whereas the Cloud II is closed back. However, I think people usually argue that the Sennheiser 598 + a modmic is a better value than the Game Ones.
Here is a headphone assistant guide from r/headphones for a simple answer.
While these are a great headset, the price for this definitely is not a "run to the store" type deal at all. They are $49 .99 on both Amazon, Hyper X Site, and Bestbuy.
If anything and you really needed one the $50 at Bestbuy you could do free shipping or even slowly walk/drive to the store after its held for you with store pickup XD
Ja neznam od cega je tebi glava kad mozes to cudo koristit... Imam ove nikad problema s njima.
I don't think so, I'm talking about this one.

You could look at some Superlux, depending on if you need Open/Closed or, if you wanna stretch your budget a bit and get a good headset https://smile.amazon.de/dp/B00SAYCXWG/?coliid=IWD3ETU5518MX&colid=1SUPPBA040KOT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it which are basically takstar pro 80s with a decent mic attached.
I have the HyperX Cloud II. I really like them. However, you do sound pickier than me.

Thanks for the suggestion and I am part of the sensitive ears club too. Probably mostly why I love velvet/velour so much.
Just wondering if you went with this one: https://www.amazon.ca/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=asc_df_B00SAYCXWG/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293000624592&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10079001138135828466&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001419&hvtargid=pla-381707145357&psc=1 OR this one: https://www.amazon.ca/HyperX-CloudX-Compatible-Noise-Cancelling-line/dp/B08KS397GY/ref=asc_df_B08KS397GY/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459615357524&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10079001138135828466&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001419&hvtargid=pla-1062636301416&psc=1
You've mentioned 7.1 and I don't see a mention of 7.1 for the CloudX so just wondering. Either way, they're not very expensive so that's good and I do like the detachable mic.
>logitech g930
Are you using it wireless? Is there an option to plug in? Any time you have wireless technology you are increasing the delay between what you say and what your players hear.
Plugging straight in tends to have a better signal, less distortion, etc., in general.
If you have a good gaming headset for a console with a USB input then those are good.
I have these and it sounds good: Hyper X Cloud
I swap my Sennheiser EPOS headphones between my console and PC and all I have to do is plug and unplug them. They sound great (discord chat for dnd)! I run them through an amp though, and that might affect the quality
Honestly though, if you have ANY feelings about doing what you do with very high quality or professionally (like you want to start a podcast or maybe you want to pre-record you reading room descriptions or big bad monologue) then you should think about getting a dedicated high quality mic. You could spend $100 and get something amazing.
And I think there is value in what u/OwariRevenant is saying, but I disagree with his conclusion that cheap USB mics are going to have superior voice quality on the virtue that so many of us already have $100 - $200+ gaming headsets.
One of the great things about using a gaming headset with a mic is that you never have to worry about your mouth pointing at the microphone. If you turn away to ponder a piece of dialogue or chew the scenery, then a headset mic will keep your sound quality good. With a dedicated mic on your desk, you're going to always have to be 'about a fist' away from the mic.
But his advice on using your g930's as headphones and buying a dedicated USB mic is solid.
HyperX Cloud 2. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00SAYCXWG
Have had this headset for 3+ years and counting Never let me down. Strongly recommend.

I'd suggest Autonomous for the desk. Not sure about the chair. For the headphones, Audio-Technica and Sennheiser have some great new headphones out for gamers/audiophiles. The SteelSeries Arctis and HyperX Cloud headphones are great too. Highly recommend checking out YourPlaymat for the mousepad. They let you customize everything so it fits your setup perfectly. custom image for the design, custom dimensions, very nice quality. Then for the keyboard and mouse it's really up to your personal preference, but I recommend an optical-mechanical keyboard (will basically last 10+ yrs without issues) and a mouse that best fits your hand. If possible, try out the mouse in the store first, make sure it fits your grip style ergonomically, your hand and wrist will thank you for it in the long run. Apart from all this, maybe some decent desk speakers, a cool lamp/light, a headphone stand, and perhaps a good webcam, and your setup is complete! Good luck

HyperX Cloud II are solid performers. I know lots of people that use them. Get a pair, you want regret it. They can be had for less than $60 on sale. Watch for Cyber Monday sales and see what you can find.

I've never personally listened to them, but I've heard good things about these a lot. Even from audiophile groups.
I have the hyper x cloud 2 and can't fault them at all.
On sale at Amazon today. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CoCSCbXAQJYQ2
Hyperx Cloud II's are fantastic and you can totally find a pair on ebay or amazon for under $100! The Alpha's are slightly nicer, but if you don't want to spend the extra money you will just be as satisfied with the Cloud II's! They have similar mic quality if you're concerned about that, but the Alpha's have parts you can remove and a nicer sound stage.
Quite honestly, I've had a few different headsets and stuff...
Hyper X Cloud II - They feel amazing. Let me effing tell you omg. They are the most comfortable headset I've ever had. I'd use them for 12 - 18 hours at a time (I don't really sleep :s) and they never make my ears hurt, I didn't get hot with them on, and they didn't press against my glasses on the side. They were perfect for not hearing external sounds. I loved this about them! Sadly, the mic on it is quiet but the sound on it was decent. I got them when they were first released and the quality was good. Mine finally died on me earlier this year and I bought another... I was disappointed. I think, despite ordering it new on Amazon, the seller sent me a refurbished set (the headband was not the same that comes on the HXC2) so I sent it back. It's priced at around $80 - $90 if I'm not mistaken. They are USB wired and come with it's own external sound card for 7.1 surround sound. Side note: I'm sad they don't sell the pink and white ones anymore :(
Hyper X Cloud Stinger (Wireless) - I'm still conflicted about this headset. The sound is decent, though I use the Razer Synapse software to boost it and it sounds a lot better. The mic is pretty good. They are extremely lightweight and just as comfy as the HXC2. The product CLAIMS to have a 17h battery for the headset. Pure lie. Mine stay charged MAYBE 5-7h if I'm lucky. It pisses me off. The wireless range is pretty good. I can walk downstairs and still hear / talk to people so I think it's probably around.. 20 - 30 feet or so? I hate that it's swivel to mute, I feel like this is just something that will eventually break. The mic is very flexible though. The volume control is on the right ear which isn't bad I suppose. If no sound has been played through them, they will automatically cut off to preserve battery after about 15-20 minutes which is a nice feature. The charging cord is an okay length, but if your tower / closest USB port isn't close to where you sit, don't expect it to reach. You can use them while charging though so that's nice. They do not muffle outside noise (for listening) except a tiny bit. I'm okay with this. I -hate- the dongle that comes with it. It's too big. It's the size of a regular 2GB usb thumb drive. Not a big deal but since I plug mine into my front ports and my tower is in front of me, I end up kicking it sometimes, lol... The ear cuffs swivel 90°, I find the feature stupid and useless but I'm sure someone out there loves it. However, they are cheap. I think $50 or so. I think one of the cheapest wireless headsets that's a brand, but I'm not sure.
The other headset I've tried is the Astro A40. It's about $130 dollars and... Well I thought I liked it at first, but when I went to write my Amazon review on it, I second guessed a lot of it's "features" that were actually just money gouges. I'll just link you to my review for it but in short, I like the sound quality, it's comfortable but I feel like the ear cushions make me a bit not, nothing too bad. The mic is good though! You can put the mic on either side of your head as there is a hole in each ear piece (covered by the tags) and the tags are interchangeable per side and easy to take off as they attach via magnets.
The mouse that I currently use for league is the Mad Catz M.M.O.T.E, why? Because I honestly though I needed a mouse with 15 buttons. I don't. I use maybe 3 other than the standard ones. I love how much I can adjust it's dpi but it seems to have issues that may or may not happen to you. After a year it started to double or triple click w/ left mouse button. I thought it was the mouse itself, turns out it was Windows, or possibly just Windows 7. The issue went away when I upgraded to Windows 10, proof it wasn't the mouse itself but possibly a driver. The company was bought out by Logitech and it's hard to find the software for it so... I don't really recommend this one at all, but it's comfy and adjustable, with lots of customization via the software. I'm not sure if you can find them anymore but the only one I see on Amazon is the tournament edition for $90. I wouldn't pay $90 for this considering there is no way to take advantage of the warranty on it. I only paid $40. I think the DPI ranges from 25 - 8.2k and you can adjust it individually for left to right and up to down. I've owned the Mad Catz 3 and played with a Mad Catz 7 or so. The 7 was nice, very simple though.
I've tried a Havit HV... something
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KKAQYXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Very, very cheap gaming mouse but it's actually good. The DPI isn't as adjustable as the mouse above, There are 4 set DPI levels, but it lights up, so I got it. I don't have any complaints about it other than having set DPI levels, it's a pretty simple mouse.
I got to try out the Ajazz Wireless Gaming Mouse. I like it overall, it's probably not good for people with larger hands as it is a slimmer mouse. You can customize it in a lot of ways. You can play with it wired if you want as it has a very nice cord length, the dongle is short and discreet. I'm a sucker for lights so I loved being able to change the colors on it, though not all colors appear as vibrant as others. It's $28

My insanely long review on said product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1RCPKV0LDJ4J3/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07PFHQYPR
I've had bad experiences with Logitech headsets and Turtle Beaches so I don't even bother trying their brands anymore. That was a few years back though. I've been told that Logitech has improved but I won't be trying it on my own dime >:[
I don't bother a special gaming monitor or keyboard because I'm a cheap ass bitch. So I can't help you there, lol...I currently have a dual monitor set up but the monitors are nothing special or gaming specific, mine are standard 60hz. Though, from the comments, it seems 144hz is the way to go.
> What is like THE BEST gaming headset
HyperX Cloud II's, $60 on Amazon as of black friday and today.
I know the HyperX Cloud II are often recommended - a little outside your budget, but it looks like they are on sale for $80 on Amazon right now:
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-GM/dp/B00SAYCXWG?th=1
Honestly, it's hard to beat the HyperX Cloud in the budget range.
HyperX has been doing a good job of partnering with other vendors to produce good sounding headphones under their brand.
If you're more music oriented, the Phillips SHP9500 + V-Moda BoomPro is a fantastic combo when the 9500s are on sale, but it might push your budget a tiny bit.
Right here, brother. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lrboFb5QEVSJ7
These have better sound for the money than anything Razer makes.
I have the Astro Zelda and found that the hyperx headset is much better. I've also tried the Mpow EG3 and found that it is on par sound wise as the Astro but far more comfortable.
The hyper x was a game changer for me. 7.1 surround is hard to beat. I found it on sale during black friday and I see it often on Amazon daily deals. The only issue that I have with it is it doesn't have a mic on/off. I had to buy an adapter for PS4
First I will say, a dedicated set of headphones from sennheiser, philips, or audio technica will always be superior to a “gaming headset.” However, in your price range, you have a limited number of options. If you’re dead set on an easy solution that has an attached microphone, the HyperX Cloud 2 is by far the best sounding gaming headset on the market.
If you want to go for some better quality sound, the philips headphones another user here linked are a very good option for the budget.
As an alternative to the philips, if you really love quality bass and headphones with a heavy bass balance (some people consider this more “fun” sounding), then the audio technica ATH-M40X ($79) is a great option. The ATH-M50X is the next level up and improves the sound quality but may be out of your price range at $129.
Finally, an offering from sennheiser would be my personal choice. They tend to have a balance sound which some people view as “flat” but I feel is accurate. They make some of the best consumer level headphones out there. The hd599 se you linked earlier would probably be my recommendation if you’re ok with an open back design. The difference between these and the others I have listed are they will let more sound out (it will sound like you have speakers on your head to those around you. This may not be desirable unless you are using these in a private place.) but they will deliver a vastly superior sound stage. The HD569 ($150) is going to be the best closed back option available from sennheiser.
Big oof
I'll just leave a link to it though just incase:

These are what I have, but anything with 7.1 surround sound should be good. They're a little pricey but the sound quality is excellent and they're really comfortable.

Just bought the HyperX Cloud II for the same price as this from amazon as well. Better buy at the same price point. (Thanks to your advice in a previous thread)

HyperX Cloud II are amazing. I ran with them since their initial release until I finally decided to upgrade to a headset with a DAC.

Ok after some advice I have picked a few. If any of you prefer one over the other for footsteps/telling if someone is above/below/left/right of me(afps games in general).

Great universal head set currently on sale for a very good value!!!
I've been considering buying some headphones for playing games such as PUBG (where sound direction is important). Up until now I've just been using some cheap earbuds which include a really crappy mic. I currently only have it for xbox one, but would use the headphones for both PC and xbox gaming.
I'd been eyeing the Hyper X Cloud 2's, they're currently going for $130, but I know they've been slightly cheaper in the past.
About a week or so ago I noticed the Alpha Pro's were actually even cheaper than that, at $125, and I took a liking to them for the adjustable volume control on the cable as well as detachable cord. Unfortunately they're now back up to full price ($142).
However, the Cloud Revolver is on sale for $129 from Mike's (through amazon).
I'm just looking for some opinions on whether I should grab the revolvers while they're cheap (is there much of a difference between them and the clouds?), go with the cloud 2's, or just maybe wait until the cloud 2's go on sale for a bit cheaper.
looks like the cloud II is also on sale
I would call myself a moderate audiophile but I'm also not willing to spend >$200 on headphones. I currently have a pair of kingston hyperx cloud IIs and they are the best headphones by far for the price. Sound great and extremely comfy. They are also currently on sale for $120. A slightly cheaper option is the cloud core at $100, which is the exact same headphone, just without anything extra. The cloud II has a usb control box for volume, mute, and simulated 7.1. They have a new model, the cloud alphas at $142, which I want to buy. Sound better, has better inline controls, and a removable cord.
They will work with anything that has a headphone jack. The mic boom is removable and has a small plug to cover the hole when it's out. As for sound quality, the bass is loud and clear, even at high levels. The mids are a little weak but if you have access to an equalizer you can make the headphones sound all around awesome. Mids sound better on the alphas because of the dual chamber audio. They sound very good on my phone using poweramp's equilizer. I use them basically exactly how it sounds like you plan on using them, except with a bit of metal and rap mixed in.
So my recommendation is alpha if you want the best for under $150, cloud II if you want something cheaper with inline controls on pc, or the core if you don't need any of the extras.
The Hyper Cloud II Gaming is a great choice for this price range.
I personally have the Corsair Void Pro Wireless and would really recommend it if you are looking for a wireless Headset!
I got the perfect thing for you, even below your budget.
Grab a pair of HyperX Cloud II's. They are the best "gaming" brand headphones.
The HyperX Cloud II, it is a bit over £55, but it is the best, and maybe you can get it cheaper when black friday comes around.
Nope, make sure it's the red variant. Here's the link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_02GeAbE3596XX
HyperX headsets are good in that price range. HyperX Cloud II is $70 right now https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG
Been doing a lot of research on this today. Check these out. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG?th=1
Honestly I would suggest just adding a modmic to your DT770.
If you really want the usb headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound the Hyper X Cloud II work plug and play and I use it on multiple distros without issue.
I have the wireless version so I don't think you'll like that, but there's a non wireless version and I really like my headset but it's high cost is mainly due to brand. I'll find some links soon.
I've heard good reviews on the HyperX Cloud II https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Xs75zb5JB175J
Razer Man o War in Wired https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KYP98T4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_7M75zb9PYVHP9
Razer Kraken Pro V2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWOKH7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_jO75zbP1P97DS
What about something like the below linked. They have 7.1 surround? Would this simulate positional audio?
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG
Can anyone give their opinion on the best gaming headset for under $200? The two I'm leaning towards right now are the HyperX Cloud II and SteelSeries Arctis 7.
Is the SteelSeries one really worth the extra money? I don't have audiophile ears, just want clear sound, clear mic, and most importantly comfort while wearing them for long durations.
Edit: Also have a relatively big head I guess so that would be important for comfort.
I personally use this one: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?s=videoga
It has nice sound but the microphone has medium quality
I also like these, though 2x the cost... https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG
Here you go: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 & Xbox One, Nintendo Switch - Red (KHX-HSCP-RD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jIhvzbQB6H747
replaced my a40s with these. good for the price
$200 is a solid range. If you wanna save money I say go with HyperX Clouds. the newest ones.
Those are just some. They have 2 more models I think.
Then these would be the best option honestly.
If you want a "gaming headset", the only one I'd recommend is the HyperX Cloud 2s.
Link: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 - Red (KHX-HSCP-RD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TdnyybQE68T5X
The only thing i can thing about the build is that, with a 1070 id get either a 1400p or 144hz monitor to get the most out of the card otherwise the card will be underused at least it would be able to easily max out almost everything you throw at it.
Best Gaming headphones for the price are the hyper x cloud 2.
For keyboard get a Mechanical with cherrymx keys, honestly absolutely one of the best investments ive ever made, every time i touch a non mech KB i wish i could have mine everywhere.
For the ethernet cable, just about any will work, id also get an ethernet cable tester.
Requires the stereo adapter: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481251738&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
Be aware they're closed ear which means outside noises are surpressed (I hate this) unfortunately your options with console are limited because harder to drive headphones will probably sound awful.
edit: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Revolver-Headset-HX-HSCR-BK-NA/dp/B01CIEBU54/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t
I believe those are open ear - I'd go for those if you could.
My birthday is coming up and my parents asked me what I would like. Since I need a new gaming/music headset anyway:
I've read good things about both but get some conflicting reviews when looking on Amazon vs. Newegg. It sounds like the Cloud Revolver is solidly constructed and sounds good but it doesn't appear to have a USB plugin (is this a problem?). The Cloud II does have a USB plugin. My current headset is wireless via a dongle, but all other wired headsets I've used have been through the audio jack so I'm not sure what the difference between USB input vs. audio jack input is. Those two are probably my top choices but I also looked at the regular Cloud and the Cloud Stinger. One last thing: I love my music but I've never had a true audiophile headset/headphones so I'm just looking for something that sounds pretty good without a fantastic soundcard, etc.
The HyperX Cloud II that I use is this one with 7.1 USB connectivity for both PC and Mac!:
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/
Note that the 7.1 only works on PC/Mac.
The licensed Xbox One version of it is this (only difference is it includes the case, has a inline audio controls, but looses 7.1 support PC/MAC)
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-CloudX-Headset-HX-HSCX-SR-NA/dp/B01HHBYS8E/
This is the latest model, HyperX Cloud Revolver ($120 though)
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Revolver-Headset-HX-HSCR-BK-NA/dp/B01CIEBU54/
I heard that it has a frame noise issue, but is slightly easier to put on. The great sound is still there, but not better. Personally, I went with the cheaper Cloud II.
I would shop around though as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00SAYCXWG
These are great, I personally use them.
Probably this
Sure. It has 3 colour variations. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=hyper+x+cloud+2&_dyncharset=UTF-8&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys
Over 2k good reviews or more
Then I would recommend these.
I just ordered this headset
It half off and apparently really good for that price
here is my post where people recommended it
I'm not sure but i think its either the same price or lower than the price of that headset
Best all round headset out there, priced between £59-£72 you can't go wrong ;)
I've had and used the Kraken 7.1 and the Logitech G933 in the past, along with an assortment of Turtlebeach headsets, but none of them hold a candle to the Hyper X Cloud line for me.
Here's the thing, surround-sound in inexpensive headsets (sub-$300) is almost more of a marketing gimmick than a feature. It's almost all emulation rather than actually being driven by hardware. A higher quality stereo headset will provide just as good of positional audio as any surround sound set, if not better. For me, the Hyper X Cloud was the first headset that really demonstrated this. Plus, most basic surround-sound audio cards can emulate surround sound just as well as most headsets so you're not really missing much.
Out of the box with onboard audio, it sounds a bit weak and quiet. However, throw in a cheap sound card with an amplifier for the front-jacks ($15-$30) and it really comes alive. The low-end isn't as deep without tuning, but it has a richer mid to high-end so things like explosions or gunfire sounds alot crisper than with bass-heavy headsets like the Kraken. A lot of headsets are designed to go heavy on the low-end with deep bass, the Krakens even more than most, so the Hyper X is in stark contrast there.
The microphone is fairly clear, I've never had anyone get confused as to what I was saying or anything, even if you'll not exactly be doing voice-over recording with it. The build-quality is also very strong from my experience; I take fairly decent care of them, but they still don't have even a mark, tear, or anything wrong with them after over a year of constant use.
As for pricing, you're looking a bit high for the Hyper X Cloud 2's if you're in the US. They are $85 on Amazon. I'll link it and the sound-card I grabbed that made this setup a winning combo for me. All-told, it comes to around $110, but your pricing and budget may vary.
Man this thread has me questioning my future headphone+mic choice.
I'm considering the HyperX Cloud II's for the 7.1 virtual surround sound and fantastic reviews.
Would getting the FiiO E10k DAC for it be a good idea or would it not be necessary?
I figured I could use the Razor Surround software for the Cloud II's 7.1 feature over the DAC. Or would it be best to use them together?
I'm not an audiophile, but I do want the best bang for my buck (which is a cheap budget).
Take a look at the Kingston HyperX Cloud headset. It has amazing sound and a detachable mic.

I've had both of those and they work perfectlly
link the HyperX cloud 2 comes with a soundcard and it's a great headset but all 7.1 virtual surround sound sucks.
The static was probably due to the usb to audio converter thing.
I would recommend the hyper x cloud 2(recent sales), since it has exactly what you want, it has surround sound via usb if you want, and a 3.5 mm jack as well if you want to use a dac if you still have those problems, also its pretty much the best sounding headset for under 100 bucks.
Gaming w/ mic (used by CSGO pros at large lans) - http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG
However, if you have a spare mic lying around and would love headphones not branded for gaming but great for it (large, accurate soundstage) get the audio technicas Ath-m50's http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1460949991&sr=1-2&keywords=audio+technica
Hyper X Cloud 2 is what you are looking for :)
This. It is a gaming headset but if I turn off surround sound mode, they are pretty good IMO.
Look way too cheap and I'm not really sure if the manufacturer is trustable , You should check out something like HyperX Cloud II
I use this http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG
works fine on my xbone.
I got the hyper X cloud II's which are pretty fantastic! You just have to get an adapter if your controller doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. Review
HyperX Cloud II https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ Review: https://youtu.be/64wnwW0Y6n8
Now... I'm taking a look at the HyperX Cloud II:
http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG?th=0
The headphones there are the HyperX Cloud II, the mouse is a Razer Naga Molten edition, the mouse in the background there is the Logitech G502, the tablet in the back is a Wacom Intuos Draw, and the keyboard is of course a Poker 3 with blue switches, and These key caps!
Edit: Updated with links!
HyperX Cloud 2.....absolutely insane audio and they are really comfy! Only $100 on Amazon.. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_N.DDwb3PNRHBK
Hyper X Cloud ll On sale for $99 right now
I would reccomend the Hyper x cloud IIhttp://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1447386148&sr=8-2&keywords=hyper+x+cloud , sorry if I misunderstood what exactly your looking for...
hyperX cloud II: http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG
I would DEFINITELY say headphones. A mechanical keyboard is nice but is more for the feel than performance or practicality purposes. Although it does help a BIT to have switches that suit your needs.
I would highly suggest the HyperX Cloud II's. Probably the most popular headset on the market right now and you can find some used ones for around $80. http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442675153&sr=8-1&keywords=cloud+ii
When you do decide to get a keyboard I would highly suggest avoiding Razer. They're prices are nice and the products are ok, when they work. I use to be a major Razer fanboy for about five years but I noticed almost every product I got had issues. I would recommend either the Corsair K70 or the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid. If you want the tenkeyless keyboard go for the CM Storm. It's got great reviews, is compact, and you can choose blue, brown, or red switches. It doesn't have any fancy LED's though. http://www.amazon.com/Storm-QuickFire-Rapid-Tenkeyless-Mechanical/dp/B0068INSUM/ref=sr_1_14?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1442675405&sr=1-14&keywords=keyboard
there's no one answer to this question
I use this though
What do you think about this headset? http://www.amazon.ca/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Mobile/dp/B00SAYCXWG
First is HyperX Cloud 2 and the second is the first generation. The Cloud 2 has a USB dongle and is 7.1 Surround sound which is amazing. I currently have the Cloud 2.
http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/
Get HM5 earpads if they're still not comfortable enough.
Your better off getting the Cloud II's, they're about the same price and way more comfortable. and they work great with the adapter.
I myself use the HyperX Cloud II, it's been a pleasure using it and I've not regretted it for even a second! they're really comfy and a reasonable price for the quality they offer! http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG
HyperX Cloud II 79.99 USD . This Headset its amazing http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG . Great sound quality and you could play forever with them without feeling in your head.
Do you even check Amazon? It's $99.99... and since when does Amazon not include a warranty?
HyperX Cloud 2? Here It's red but its brand new and 33% off.
Absolutely love these. Few friends got them as well. No issues whatsoever. Even better it's currently on sale.
Hopefully its the same for your country specific.
Funny thing is 3 years after the date the hyperx cloud 2s are on sale again for $99!

You're welcome. That's a very close match, but actually this one, which I think is the more feature-packed model? I'm not sure the differences, but it was the Cloud 2 I was impressed with.
Care to share what you disliked about your Logitechs?
the best headset you can get and a shit ton of people will agree with me is the HyperX Cloud II https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1470256228&sr=8-2&keywords=cloud+x
or if you want headphones with clipinmic then go with sennheiser hd 558 or 598 for soundstage is you play a lot of fps or go with audio technica ath m50x or m40x for other games. the microphone i use is the one i showed you before and they give you 3 of them in the package. they work perfectly
HyperX cloud 2. Very Good price/quality headset. For 100$ box it's a deal. edit: Since you won't use USB cable, the 3.5 cable is very short.
I had the Sony Gold but I hated them, they battery life sucked and i just hated the fact that i had to keep charging them. I have these headphones and quality wise they blow the Sony Golds out of the water. Take a look. These just plug directly into the controller and no cords need directly plugged to ps4. http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1447834497&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=kingtston+hyper+x+cloud
