Yes, but if you search Amazon for the cheapest ram there is usually some ram that costs less then $140. For example the Kingston-HperX Fury prices has been going down for the past few days and is sitting at $125 for 16 gigs as of this post https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1507828010&sr=1-2&keywords=ddr4+ram&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A677429011
Hey Termy,
I just bought Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM - Black . Would you reccomend me removing the old Ram or does it really matter, I have 4 slots on my motherboard. Sorry if this is a noob question.

Appreciate that. Do you have any recommendations as far as which ram to go for? I have an ASrock z87 Extreme 3 mobo.
Was thinking about this:
Hi, today one of my sticks of 8 GB ram died (my total was 16 GB which you can see here). I want to get another stick to replace it so is it okay to just buy one 8 GB stick of the same type? Should I just buy 16 GB and replace the other stick as well?
I would think about upgrading the RAM to this, also not too expensive.
I would think about upgrading the RAM to this, also not too expensive.
My mistake, I actually was aware that I needed to choose DDR3 RAM. Don't know why I didn't though. This should work right?
So after a bit back and forth I think I'll choose the 1070. The preisleistungsverhältnis (I assume you are german because you used a german article in your link) doesn't differ that much and I would rather keep my options open in case I choose to upgrade to a 4k monitor at some point.
Is it okay with you if I simply PM you tomorrow after I opened the case? Its just us two in the comments here anyways.
Thank you! is it good for ram? https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469446498&sr=8-1
My current psu is 400w sadly but i picked that thermaltake versa n21 has 80PLUS 600W psu (in Turkish pc stores)
I have 2 RAM slots so I was going for 2 8 GB sticks.
I was checking pcpartpicker and it said this was compatible with my motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=YKTWARYQOZAA&coliid=I3TQZXG6VBQF2N&psc=1
I mean I don't mind the higher price if it will work.
Almost all modern games only use 8gb of RAM which is why I only gave you 8. However, it's extremely easy (and cheap) to upgrade, so you can definitely add more down the line if you want. If you do, make sure you add the same kind as before. If you want 16gb now to future-proof, get this:

As for keyboards, the Corsair k70 is great and very well reviewed, but it's fairly expensive (around $120 I think). I don't know much about mechanical keyboards though, so you might want to try r/keyboards for extra help. If you're set on a mechanical keyboard, make sure you know which switch type you want (look it up if you're not sure what you're looking for- Cherry MX blue is the most popular, and the best IMO). Hope this helps!
is there a difference between the "Impact" HyperX Kingston memory and the "Fury" HyperX? Both auto overclock, the "impact" to 2400 and "fury" to 1866, but since the imac only runs at 1866, it won't make a difference. here is a link at amazon only $80 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8E8Y5C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
That RAM Doesnt seem ideal - its 3 sticks which means it wont run in dual channel.
Why not get something liek this which is 16GB and will run dual channel.
Do you care about OC? If not you cout get the Non K Processor/Xeon processor with H97 board
Honestly though is this even that much of a sale? You can get the 1866Hz version of this in blue/red/white for $89 at Amazon. Also its seriously kind of annoying that ONLY the black version of this is more expensive but I guess we all have to live with it.
These are 1600 which make them a slightly inferior product.
This is actually more about the use of a heavy IDE; Eclipse or any other heavy IDE can be a major pain in the ass with their RAM usage. I've taken a look at these and PC part picker indicates no compatibility issues but hardware really isn't my field of expertise.
Found a better deal on amazon same price but faster https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_13?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1508633948&sr=1-13&keywords=ddr4+ram+16gb
If anyone was wondering this is the PC I have: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16883280090
And I upgraded the RAM to 16gb: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hyperx+16gb+ddr3&qid=1563382168&s=electronics&sr=1-3
And now I just put in a GIGABYTE GT 1030: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-GV-N1030D5-2GL-Computer-Graphics/dp/B071DY2VJR/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=gt+1030&qid=1563382281&s=electronics&sr=1-3
16GB should be more than sufficient (depending on what you use your PC for). The GA-970A-D3P supports up to 2000Mhz RAM OC'd, so you would have to overclock to get that speed, other than that you are limited to 1866Mhz RAM. Anything from 1066 Mhz to 1866Mhz would work as long as it's DDR3 of course. The Kingston HyperX Fury Kits are great - https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C
I'm wondering if it's ok to use a 1866mhz ram to a mobo with a maximum support of 1600 mhz?
Specifically this ram: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C
And this mobo: https://www.newegg.com/global/nz/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132083
I took out the 2gb sticks and kept in the 8gb and my computer wouldn't boot up. Took those out and put in the 2gb and now my computer works fine.
I assume it's either a compatibility issue or hardware issue with the sticks of ram itself. Do you see anything that would cause compatibility issues based on what I posted?
Here are links to full specs of what I have
2GB Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820231449

Thanks again for lending a hand.
Hello! I want to know if this RAM (https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479923460&sr=1-1&keywords=16gb+ram&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A677429011) is compatible with this motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131358)
> This should work right?
Yes. But it is a bit faster than needed, the ram will clock down to the slower one you already have, in practice the difference does not matter. This kit will work equally well and is a bit cheaper.
> So after a bit back and forth I think I'll choose the 1070
Ok. The G1 Gaming you had in your initial post will be fine then.
> Is it okay with you if I simply PM you tomorrow after I opened the case?
Sure. Und ja, wir können deutsch reden ;)
Should I also keep my antivirus program I already have on my Mac? Also, would I need an external hard drive to backup my mac
Also, is this ram kit fine? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/
https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Series-16-Memory-Module/dp/B00J8E8Y5C?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 It was this stuff, and may have beem AM3+ if that's any different.
I'm not an experienced pc builder so i was wondering which to buy. I want more power for the buck. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me= or the one i posted above... Still not sure.
http://smile.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458946412&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+fury+ddr3+ram I would be interested but its cheaper brand new from amazon
I'm hoping for $60 shipped for DDR 3 1866 RAM but if you're in Washington I think amazon has em for $69.99 without tax and Free shipping.
Edit: found em!
This is my next upgrade. http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1456353903&sr=1-4&keywords=ram there are cheaper options @ 8GB
I say go for the 16gb, cause it's so cheap now days, why not have the extra power? $77 for Kingston HyperX Fury 16gb
Black ones are only $2 more http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8E8Y5C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
96.29 for they White Hyper X on Amazon http://smile.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1435851217&sr=8-4&keywords=kingston+hyper+x
so I'd think your gpu might have some time left. so upgrading your ram, mobo and cpu would be cost effective
Ram
cpu
and motherboard
comes to a total of 477,28$ if bought today
I don't know what case you have so i assumed it was compatible with standard atx.
one thing that would also help to know is what psu you have but the difference in power consumption of the cpu is less then 20 W.
You could save some money on the cpu and get a i5 4590 which isn't a bad cpu if you wanted to get another case or a new gpu (might go a little over budget if you opt in for a 970 or 960)
if you have any question feel free to ask
IKEAs lights are lovely, everyone in my family uses them as back lighting on their TVs or computers. The variable color scheme is nice.
Platinum and titanium are wayyyy overkill.
Here's a link for the ram. Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM - Black (HX318C10FBK2/16) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SVePvb5P51HNQ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SVePvb5P51HNQ
Try Amazon for one - http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C
My current mobo only has 2 dimms, would it be silly to buy 2x8 brand new?
I think this is the best 16gb deal right now on amazon!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Buy this Ram instead: http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1866MHz/dp/B00J8E8Y5C
Its cheaper and runs at a higher clock, it is CL10 though, not sure what that means to you. If anything at all
Cant see where its £99.95 but for that price you can get 16gb of HyperX Fury higher speed RAM 1866Mhz which is a better deal IMO http://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Series-1866MHz-Memory-Module/dp/B00J8E8Y5C in either the red or balck
If i already have a pair of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8E8Y5C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01
would it be bad if I got these ones? Would it cause any issues? What does CL9 or 10 mean?
