I know you wanted recommendations for butt plugs, but I have this glass toy which works amazingly well at "warming you up" to be ready for a plug. The small end is about the width of a finger, so it goes in incredibly easy and you can work up to the larger rings as you're ready. When you're comfortable and ready for more, switch to the plug.
