I bought this one. It came with a CD but you can also download the software from their website. It was really easy to set up and once you assign the keybinds it stays onboard the hardware so you don't have to run any software in the background.
Pedals is where it's at!
Get yourself something like this and use it for key modifiers, stance dancing, push to talk or whatever else.
And just use a good gaming mice instead of those shitty mmo ones.
It's really the least necessary but also depends on how realistic you want your experience to he. I have a yoke and a joystick and use the joystick for the rudder. However if you're not picky, I did buy these and they work with flightsim. Even gives you an extra pedal for the parking brake.
Heyo. I only use one hand (lost nerve function in left hand due to gunshot wound to brachial plexus). Have 1,600hrs in Rust and can play it fine. I map everything to buttons on my mouse (Corsair Dark Core) and some shitty foot pedals from China. Only thing I lack is strafe (A + D). But you'd be amazed how much movement you can get out of w (mapped to side mouse for thumb) and jump (next to w key). Also, alt-look (mapped to a pedal) is so nice when you only have one hand.
That said, if anyone knows of anything better with controllers, I'm all ears. Good luck, man!
wouldn't say i've beat it, but i'm a long way from where I was! I spun my wheels for a long time looking for specific fixes, but i'm having much more success working around it - focusing on general fitness & fulfillment. rest, stretches and ice/heat are a huge help, but radical change & pattern disruption are my long term tools to beat pain programming/conditioning. chronic pain with no obvious cause is a tough battle, but a holistic approach is the best approach, to me. don't etch stories in stone, mind the language you use when discussing your condition. belief is a great healer. believe in yourself and the pain-free person you want to be and all of a sudden that future is within reach.
here's the pedals on amazon. they're sort of set on a fulcrum and need only a little bit of force to engage them. they work well for me! best of luck <3
USB foot pedals are worth considering, too
i unfortunately don't know the level of control (key binding, toggle versus momentary switching, etc.). that one looks pretty good.
the cost of a cheaper vertical mouse + foot pedals might be less than some high-end vertical gaming mouse.
Get some Foot Switches and a Tartarus. Put mouse right and left click on your feet and put WASD and whatever else you want on the Tartarus along with the thumbstick on the Tartarus to control your camera. Probably won't feel as good as mouse and keyboard and you might not be a pvp god, but you can play.
threw me off seeing a CD. wow
They make foot pedals for exactly this use case. Some are expensive, I have this one.
$40 pedals!! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753CSGTK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also jammed a steering wheel on a GRS spinner, it works extremely well!!
ah I see. the key that I've found to have as many bindable buttons as possible that are easy to smack.
I wonder if a joystick mouse paired with a set of footpedals or the microsoft adaptable controller would be your speed:

bind back, forward, left, right to joystick access, abilities bound to footpedals and mouse.
or, if your foot dexterity isn't there, you could get the microsoft adaptive controller and plug in some big buttons to hit with your hand for abilities.
of course, they aren't amazing but they do the job.

This is the one I use, it’s fine

I use this and map it to really high function keys that can be assigned to SWS extensions.
Good luck!

I play PC games (FTS, flight sims, RPS, etc.), am right arm only (shoulder disarticulation; no stump) and I use a Sandio 3D Game O2. It's out of production and but you can still find them on eBay. I've played lots of different game with it including the Battlefield series and lots of War Thunder. Sandio 3D Game O2 Mouse (eBay link) I also use X-Mouse Button Control to remap the two side buttons although you may want to use the software to disable them for LH use? X-Mouse Button Control
Additionally, I use a generic Chinese foot pedal (3 pedals) as well but they tend to give up the ghost after a few months. I haven't yet found anything that I want to try at a reasonable price point.Generic USB Foot SW (Amazon link)
I've become pretty competitive in FPS so re-learning will be challenging. That being said, you will hit a peak where you are limited by your interface. For example, with the setup I outlined above, you will typically be out-melee'd because you can use only one axis at a time (forward/back or left/right) unless you map forward/back to your foot pedals...which I found feels unnatural. Experiment with some different equipment until you find what feels the most natural and most capable. When you get rolling, you'll get trounced for a bit but you will find you gradually regain your capability once your brain "re-wires" and you adjust your playstyle a tad. Actually, after reading these comments, I just ordered and started using a 3D Rudder but, so far, I don't love it. There are others who swear by them so I am continuing to try to find what settings, etc. might make it click for me.
If you have any questions about these things, hit me up! In the end, I've given up almost nothing from my "bi-arm" days. There is always a way!
I'm a little late but maybe have something to offer.

if your iq is higher than 200 go with this bad boy triple pedal...it can take 3 hotkeys off your hands and make shit way easier...for example my ultimate manas are on a pedal and my sio on my mouse, so now I don't have to switch my thumb position back and fourth 100 times per pull to spam mana and sio I just hold down the mana pedal and focus on my sios. gives you the same effect as putting mana/sio on scroll wheel up/down (makes it way easier) but now you can still scroll your bps and such.

I have a Razer Tartarus and I can't recommend it enough. You can use the 8-direction thumb stick for WASD movement, which frees up all the face buttons for your PAs, Techs, etc. Definitely go for the Tartarus version 2 for the extra row of face buttons -- especially since it's the same price.
Some things I wish I knew about it before buying it: The thumb stick isn't an analog stick, it's just a digital 8-direction button. The thumb stick is also prone to break after about a year of use, so you should definitely get a protection plan if you want to buy it. The Tartarus I have now is my 3rd one because the thumb stick on the 1st 2 stopped working consistently.
I actually use an Azeron now, and I like it much more than my Tartarus. It is twice the cost of a Tartarus, but it's fantastic. This one has an actual analog stick, which I'm hoping will hold up longer than a year compared to the Tartarus. The buttons are much more convenient as well, since you never have to change your hand position.
Both can be programmed using the software they come with.
Also, if you're the type of person who likes optimal keybinding / hardware -- I also use a foot pedal that has 3 buttons on it. You can bind them to anything you want, and it also comes with software. I use 1 button for push to talk on Discord, and the other 2 I use for in-game abilities. Something to consider.
err, isn't this just like the pedals a transcriber would use with software for typing dictation? So you can get some USB foot pedals, and assign keystrokes to it ? for less than $100 off amazon.
I'm looking into foot pedals, and having one with at least 2 pedals would be nice, 3 would be optimal. A quick Google search shows plenty of options (all for the same product) starting at about $25, but those take over a month to ship. Prime shipping ones start at around 40. Although, most reviews say that the product works great until it begins to stop working a couple months after purchase. Does anyone know of an alternative option for an inexpensive foot pedal with 3 pedals? I am also open to buying one from one of you if anyone here is selling. This link should provide a good picture of the pedal that I was initially looking at but am now trying to avoid: https://www.amazon.com/iKKEGOL-Triple-Keyboard-Control-Hospital/dp/B0753CSGTK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
