Maybe the size of the ones you got wasn’t right? This one has a way you can measure your hands and chose the right size. Because I’m sure the wrong size would not be helpful at all. Hope this helps!

And they've been a great help. They don't offer the wrist stabilization that I was looking for but there are other products out there that may fix that.
I agree with everybody telling you to go to the doctor, but in the short term, compression gloves have given me some relief from my arthritic symptoms. I use these. And, bonus you get to wear "cool" fingerless gloves!
Try compression gloves. They are flexible and cheap.

This is an example of one.. Occasionally just wearing a generic wrist brace can be helpful as well.
Also, just as a thought, maybe pads aren't the best input device for you. My hands hate controllers these days, possibly because of computer work for my job.
