infantino 4in1 is what I used for 3 kids, still have it for this next baby. Still in good condition. Haven't had any issues or negatives for me. I'm not fond of the bib thing and took it off, that's about it. Will say I really only used it until they could walk. For something beyond that I can't say whether I'd still use it or what to recommend if another brand. When they get a bit heavier it can hurt your back to have it on too long which is a big reason I never used it past the walking stage. But also when we hike it's never anywhere non-kid friendly where we'd need a carrier.
There are the fabric wraps you wrap around yourself but I found this kind easier to deal with and for my husband to use. We are both slender but he's much taller and there's no issue with readjusting the straps when we would switch using it. My current baby used to take naps in it when I couldn't get her to sleep any other way. The other parent friends we have I saw the mom had the same one so I thought that was cool lol.
We use this one from Amazon! Suits our needs great and was super cost effective, especially compared to other brands. I wouldn’t say it’s SUPER comfortable, but certainly not uncomfortable. I can do a 30-45 min walk easily without any discomfort but it probably wouldn’t be comfortable for a long hike or all day.

Can you find out the exact name of the carrier from her registry? We might be able to suggest a more economical version. Baby carriers are awesome, and I love the one I was gifted.
I have the Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier. It's under $50 Canadian, and I use it almost daily.
Thats the one we got, seemed to get good enough reviews and we figured if she liked it we could get a nicer one. apparently this one also doesnt conform to proper hip support guidelines? makes sense.
nice thing is, for 30 bucks i dont even care that its money lost.
I used this one Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier [link].
I got it on sale at Toy r Us about a year ago. I carried my son around in it until he was about 6 months. Once he could sit up in a cart I didn't use it as much. He liked it, he found it calming and he would usually fall asleep in it. I'm not big on paying a ton of money for baby stuff that is only used less than a year. This worked well for me and it was not expensive.

This is the one we have. I'll definitely check that sub, and the wiki. Thank you!
ETA: That one has loops to make the seat more narrow for him so his legs aren't wide apart.
I got this and I have prior back pain. It’s on the cheaper end but works great for us!

My baby did not care for the cloth wrap and preferred a little structure. We tried the baby ktan and switched to this structured carrier.Infantino Flip 4-in-1
I got two from Amazon. A wrap and a carrier. They’re both effective but sometimes the wrap makes her sweat a lot so I use the carrier.
These are the ones I use:
