Works for me. Maybe they're acting off similar info as Newegg, and they're getting multiple thousand units on Friday. Either this is a paper launch... or it it's just delayed a week. We'll know Friday.
Not sure why shills are down voting you...
Intel list price for 9900k = $449
AMD list price for 3900x = $499
Anyone can purchase a 9900k from amazon right now for $485, which is cheaper than what the 3900x will drop at.
Wo siehst du den für 482€ auf amazon? Der kostet 522 Verkauft von "Wellcum Tech Srl" (lulz)
Is it that much better? I was looking at some benchmarks and it didn't seem all that much better. Will absolutely get the i9-9900K then.
What about the 11900k?
Thank you!
Is this the right one?
same price on amazon if people prefer amazon vs newegg plus if anyone has amazon store card that's another 5% off https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i9-9900K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B005404P9I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1547050289&sr=8-3&keywords=i9900k+intel
That how I feel, I been watching vids about these two lol also the i9 actually is on sale now, if I'm going to dish out almost 500 on the Ryzen, i9 still seem too tasty. But as the time tell lol AMD came up on top so I think there is good evidence it is going to age well
So are you just going to downvote me without explaining how what I said was wrong?

9900K goes for $484 that's like $15 less than the 3900X, which falls under "AMD is selling the 3900X for $499, which is the price (more or less) of the 9900K"
The 12-core 3900X which beat (mind you) the 9920X is going to beat the 8-core 9900K, it's not even in the same ball park. The 9900K's true competitor(In terms of performance) is the 3800X which is CHEAPER than the 9900K.

So please, tell me how I was wrong
okay, thank you. Does it mean that if motherboard supports my i-5 8400, it will also support i-9? For example, motherboard "Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X". On re-sellers website there is no mention of i-9. But then there is Intel i-9900k https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i9-9900K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B005404P9I and there is mention of lga1151. It looks like some lga1151v2 motherboards support i-5, i-7 and i-9 but some only i-5 and i7... Or maybe I'm writing something very wrong. Third possibility - I am wrong and re-seller is lazy to update info on his website
Gotcha. I actually ordered mine from B&H this morning at like 1 am since I saw someone post on reddit that the page went live early and luckily the order went through. A tad annoying they won't confirm any kind of shipping date but oh well.
And as far as the elite goes, I think I might go with the Pro instead since it has USB C for an extra $10
edit: amazon will still let you order from this page. You can't find it by just searching 9900k but that page works and it's the same price as B&H was when it was in stock ($530). It was $499 this morning briefly but that was gone in about 5 min
>so i expect 9900k to be priced minimum 150-180% more than 2700x.
In what country? TPU writes mostly for an US audience.
9900K - $530 on Amazon
2700K - $295 on Amazon
So the price difference is 80% in US, so TPU messed up even in US where the prices are close to MRSP.
In Germany, sure, the prices are inflated but they should drop down to MRSP in 1-2 months.
9900K - €700
2700X - €318
In Germany the difference is 120%.
The 9900K is $479.99 so this will be a pretty hard sell at $500.
You can get a 9900k for $490 with free shipping on amazon. Your asking price may be a bit too high.

Apparently Amazon's chat-based customer support likes to play the same agent shuffle that most telephone CS services do. Anyway, below is the transcript of my conversation with them. I don't know if they received any stock initially, but as of now it seems we're stuck waiting for them to receive stock from Intel.

There wasn't anything in the MB box. Just a discount code for some cable-guides of some sort.
Do we think my 9900k will come with the "master key" required for this offer?
Amazon does that as well. You can see them if you use the direct links. But they stop making them searchable. Only directly saved links can work; and only if/when they do not redirect those to other parts in stock. The Newegg link specifically will first attempt to redirect to the in-stock, as of now, 9600K. However if you refresh the page the 9900K listing should load on refresh; a minor oversight on their part.

All of my items were wiped form my trickster, all armor and all guns i had in my inventory, i dont even have a pistol, i logged in, saw my character with all its gear (more specifically relogged in after the 30th crash of the day) and joined a friends game, (all steam players on pc) when i loaded in i had nothing, skills were unlocked but trying to select an ability to equip caused me to crash again. I reloaded again and saw in the lobby my character still had no gear and tried playing solo, gear still gone. looked at skills again, crashed, reloaded, joined the same friends game from earlier, crashed. reloaded again, tried to play solo, crash as soon as the first shot was fired.

$530 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005404P9I
The price in the page that you linked is about as silly as me trying to tell you my 1994 Honda Civic is worth as much as a $55k 2019 Corvette, just because some moron listed it online for that price. Amazon sells the i9 9900k, one of the most powerful processors ever created, and something that will be complete overkill for gaming for the next 10 years, for $700.
The problem is that prices for computer components can be literally whatever someone lists them for. I could make a listing for that same processor for $100,000, but that doesn't mean it would actually be worth that much. The i5 2400 is being sold on Amazon for $250. That is a 7 year old chip that doesn't meet the minimum specs for anything since 2014. You would be insane to pay more than $30 for it, but anyone can list it for whatever they want.
Amazon is 679.99 in case anyone was curious how this compares.
you're able to push more power from the i9 than from i7 if you know how to overclock and you're giving yourself more power and better temps on the gpu for less money
+
I'd recommend buying all the parts from amazon
> 9900k. Link to the price please otherwise it is just hot air. Amazon and New Egg prices are close to $500 plus the tax which is %10 ($50). $450 shipped with not tax seem so very reasonable.

Upgrade
For those curious about my upgrades,
Intel Core i9-9900K
2TB Sabrent Rocket NVMe SSD (PCIe M.2 2280)
2TB Seagate Barracuda 120 SATA SSD
Processor was upgraded from 6 cores, 6 logical cores to 8 cores, 16 logical (hyper-threading), 4.7GHz boost to 5.0GHz boost. Cinebench 20 before: 2212, after: 4152.
NVMe SSD went from 2300/700 MB/s read/write to 2900/2900 MB/s
SATA SSD went from a HDD around 150 MB/s to 500 MB/s.
Issues
Currently running on a 4TB AFPS fusion install, which Boot Camp apparently doesn't like because it can't resize the container.
Doing This Yourself
Just a note for anyone trying this themselves, you need a NVMe heasink, NVMe adapter card, Torx tools, thermal paste, suction cups for the monitor, 27" iMac adhesive strips, and too much patience to speak of.
RAM
I'm looking to fully upgrade my RAM next, 128GB, and I saw something interesting between the Micron Tech RAM and the OWC RAM I purchased. The OWC seemed to run at a lower number than Micron and I just wanted to confirm before I make a purchase with OWC or go with Crucial.
Nice looking build! Looks like we had the same idea :) copy and pasted from my Twitch. I just wished this case had better airflow, i did not know it was basically fully closed off in the front running a negative pressure setup.

This seems OOS for delivery, but amazon has it now for $ 567.99
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B005404P9I/
I was lucky and looking for an upgrade right when it came out. I got it for $580, the cheapest one I see now is $1500.
To be honest they are just an i9-9900k pre-binned to be able to handle 5.0Ghz and then factory overclocked. You could just buy an i9-9900k hope for a good bin, and then overclock it yourself.
IMO you should go with a Ryzen 9 3900x, my wife just upgraded to one of these and it's very nice. On top of the Ryzen winning in most performance categories it comes with a nice RGB cooler where I had to purchase one for my i9 when I noticed it arrived without one. It's also 100$ cheaper than the i9... I'm pretty sure AMD made this to hurt Intel's architecture choices on chip size.
You lose a little bit of power when it comes to single threaded apps, but its not much. The Ryzen wins out on everything else so the trade is worth it.
Not released yet, but for some reason you can already buy a 10700k on Amazon?

Check YouTube, there are a lot of really insightful (and entertaining) build guides, jayztwocents and linus tech tips are where I got all I needed to know when I built my first pc :)
A big thing that almost caught me out was part compatibility, some CPUs won't work with some motherboards, you need to make sure 100% that your cpu socket matches the motherboards,
it'll often specify it in both the CPU name and motherboard name. intel is currently lga1151 I think so the CPU will specify that and the motherboards will have it in the name
Intel Core i9-9900K Retail - (1151 etc https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005404P9I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v15PDb54JSZVS
Would only work with a motherboard that is 1151
Like this ASUS Prime Z370-A II LGA1151 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HFR4CR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_r25PDb8TC6SNC
Well this sucks. Woke up at 7 and scanned amazon, nothing, went back to bed. Checked again at 9, looking at newegg. Sold out. Cool, guess it sold out in 53 minutes.

Should I just say fuck it and go with an i9? I need a new computer asap, and now I have a feeling getting one of these is going be another month or two of waiting. Thanks for all your help guys. Major bummer.

What really sucks is if I had scanned newegg at 7 instead, I would have gotten it. What'd they make, like 4 of these for launch?

they sorta already did, this processor destroys tarkov.
A prebuilt rarely has a quality power supply. A quality power supply not only lasts longer, but provides more stable power which leads to other parts lasting longer. A higher quality motherboard than what is in prebuilts could also lead to longer lifespans for your cpu and ram. The case that is available for a prebuild might also not be compatible with future PSUs or motherboards that you might want to buy. In gaming, with CPU performance, the speed you have your CPU at is almost more important than the actual CPU you get. So getting a high quality cooler for your CPU is very important for performance. Getting a prebuilt with a top of the line i9 9900k, and it might constantly be thermal throttled at 4.2Ghz. At which point, you PC probably would be performing better with a CPU thats $200 cheaper but has a cooler that lets it stay at 5.0Ghz. There is also things like the aestetic inside a case, which is typically better in prebuilts, you can make your ram, motherboard, gpu, and psu match for example. Also, you do usually pay a premium for pre built PCs.

That said, there is definitely an appeal to the simplicity of a prebuilt. And like having 1 warranty in case anything isn't working and just being like, this isn't working, i have a warranty. Instead of a custom built PC where it isn't working, you need to find someone that will lend you parts so you can find out which part is faulty, and then hopefully you still have the original packaging for that individual part.

Also, the progress being made with hardware has definitely slowed. Like Upgrading is making less and less sense imo. You could buy a prebuilt and have it last 5 years probably and then just buy another. And if you custom built that, its like, ok, i guess if i wanted to push my luck I could keep the PSU after 5 years, and the hard drives, and thats about it. And the only thing you're really could want to replace before 5 years would be the GPU or the RAM. But that is only necessary if you cheap out on them off the bat, or if you want really bleeding edge graphics constantly. The GPU is also probably the easiest part of any system to upgrade. So, I think its important to just not cheap out on the ram. Like I bought a new CPU, ram, and motherboard, and i bought 32 gigs of ram, not because I think its useful now, but because I think i'll want it before I want to replace the motherboard, ram, and cpu; so it just makes sense to buy it now.
I have a preorder with Amazon US and was hoping to snipe one here in Japan this weekend since it doesn't look good from Amazon. I should have preodered here too, but the original estimation was Oct. 27 and I didn't want to wait... lol.
For online ordering in Japan (Thought I would toss this out there):
1-s.jp shows instock tomorrow (Nov 2 @ 11am)
pc-koubou.jp has a message about honouring preorders first etc.
ark-pc.co.jp removed the listing completely sometime yesterday
amazon.co.jp removed listing a while back, but it was here (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B005404P9I/) I have it saved in my wish list ha.
Not sure if you guys/gals know of any other sites/stores. I really don't feel like spending the day tomorrow roaming around Tokyo trying to hunt down a single unit. Ugh.
It’s $530 usd on amazon.com I think:

27th is pretty much what all stores are saying online and offline in Japan (I'm in Japan - Just outside of Tokyo).
Here's another popular site to buy PC parts here in Japan that also says for the 27th. https://www.ark-pc.co.jp/i/10150487/
I pre-ordered on Amazon US, but also added it to my cart in Japan when it was up (https://imgur.com/a/MD8qr32) but never checked out here because I thought I would get it cheaper, but more importantly FASTER from the US. The 9900k listing on Amazon JP was taken down quite quickly.
The link to the product page in my cart leads to a 404 basically https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B005404P9I/

Pre-orders of the 9900K seem to have immediately sold-out for the initial release offering. We'll see when these return. Hopefully soon.

Where are you paying $766.98 for an Intel i9-9900K? Are those US prices? Right now the i9-9900K is $484.99 on Amazon (US).
>cpu
BEST is probably i9-9900K = $530
>ram
Solid Ram for $100 16GB 3000MHz = $110
>mobo
This is mine and I really like it. =$120
That would come out to $760 so you you could always drop down to last gen CPU i7-8700k for a lot cheaper and still significant capability.
I only mentioned intel as I really know little about AMD / ryzen.
