You’re welcome! IFS has seriously been transformative for me. I have been able to build a relationship with so many of my hurt parts who have been alone and in extreme roles for a long time.
The “negative“ voices in your head are parts, and you can learn to live with them and work with them and build a relationship with them. A key idea in parts therapy is “all parts welcome.“ Another key idea is that all of our parts have a positive intention for us (but many of them need to be updated on what our life is really like now because they can be stuck in the past and doing behaviors that were adaptive then but are maladaptive now, like being really critical of us).
For me, at least, I needed a trained parts therapist to help me through this process. But if you’re looking to check out some resources to get a better sense of what this is and if you think it might work for you, I recommend:

And this book - https://www.amazon.com/Internal-Family-Systems-Skills-Training/dp/1683730879
(it is geared towards therapists but it can give you a good sense of what IFS is all about)
Wishing you well on your healing journey 💜
Makes sense. Frank wrote the IFS training manual.
