I have the Intex Explorer K2, a 2-person inflatable kayak and it’s perfect for occasional use.
Pros
Cons
Overall, at that price point and for its convenience and portability, I’ve been super happy with the purchase. Hope that helps!
My gf and I got this kayak a few months ago and it’s the best investment we made this summer. Sits up to two people, inflatable and comes with everything you need. Lightweight too. We take it out on Lake Union and never had a problem with it tipping over or feeling unsafe in it.

Hey! Im 6’ , 250 and also recently got into kayaking.
‘I got This one for 179 and love it! I just use one seat and put it towards the back so I have room for my legs to stretch out. Takes maybe 10 minutes max to pump up with the pump that came with mine. havent had any issues so far. I think the official weight limit is 400 so I could bring someone with me (depending on size obviously) but usually throw stuff in the back behind my seat like dry bag with shoes keys wallet phone etc. or could fit a small cooler or something.
Let me know if you have questions!
I've used both. Hard shell is smoother and easier to navigate. An inflatable kayak is really for convenience and freedom to launch where you want. It wasn't on my radar until my friend got one and vetted it prior bc I thought I'd sink at first paddle without their assurance.
This is the model I got. If you have you gone kayaking in this area, you're likely to have seen at least one or two of Intex branded kayak on the lake. FWIW I actually purchased it for $90 and I've already got my money's worth given the rate of rentals. I guess Amazon is doing surge pricing bc has almost tripled with demand or I got a really good deal?
Hey! I think i’ve decided to just get an inflatable one for now. That way I don’t have to concern myself with hauling one, buying stuff to hook it onto my van, etc. I’m also going to be super busy starting this August with school etc, so i’d rather not buy a canoe to just take up space in the garage when I might not be able to take it out as much as i’d like to. I found this one on Amazon, (it’s actually a Kayak) and it seems to have really good reviews and is fairly cheap! I’m hoping it’ll last me two years or so and then I can get an actual canoe. There was one on marketplace for $200, 12 footer and looked in good shape (just needed a new paint job) but I hesitated to quickly and now it’s gone.
Thank you for asking!
I have! This is the brand here. It's an Intex K2 Explorer 2 Seater. The Amazon link shows it comes with electric inflation pump, but mine didn't. Honestly, I think it inflates quick enoguh with the manual one.
Nope, this is a $100 kayak you can find on Amazon. I know because I have the same one and I don’t bring it anywhere except calm lakes that have little to no waves. I’ve taken it to Lake Ontario before and that was perhaps the scariest thing I’ve ever done. It has almost no stability and takes 10x the effort of a hardshell kayak to move forward.
This will fit 2 adults and a 6yo, if you don’t install the little seats. I think it would still work with the seats installed if you really cram the kid up front.

Funnily enough it was an Intex, looks like this one:

I don't have personal experience with this specific one but it has fine ratings on amazon so I'm sure its good.
We have 2 of these - Worked great so far unless you're going in the Ocean or somewhere with crazy waves:
I've thought about getting this inflatable kayak for a while because I live at an apartment with no room. It usually hovers around $80 when it's in stock. You can also look into pack rafts
I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. But it was well-reviewed.
Showing as “currently unavailable” now. But there are probably others like it on Amazon.

Great Job! Did something similar once. I recommend looking into this kayak. Works great for trips n such.
I use the Intex Explorer K2 - the '2 person' kayak, which actually means "my fat ass, plus my tackle". It's okay - takes maybe 5-10 mins to inflate and deflate, especially with the $10 Intex electric pump on Amazon. It did a good enough job getting me off the bank and out to fish - 9 of my 10 biggest fish last year came from the kayak, once I got off the shore and out to where the fish were. It makes all the difference in the world, even in a pond.
Edit: Just to elaborate a bit more - much like /u/TNNRR I had some big worry about punctures - I had to constantly be on the lookout for submerged timber or rocks that could ruin my day, and sometimes retrieving lures was a dicey proposition when there were branches and such around. Mine also 'wore out' pretty quickly - the skeg just slides in and is super easy to lose, and once you lose it the kayak twists and turns back and forth and makes paddling a nightmare if there's even the slightest bit of wind. It is tall and inflatable so it drifts even more than a normal kayak, and for me an anchor was a necessity. One time, the seat became deflated while on the far side of the lake, and that paddle back, into the wind, with no seatback, was one of the most painful things I've gone through while fishing. Despite that, it's a sub-$100 inflatable, so you expect most of those things. It did a fine enough job, and if you're on a budget it's still a good option.
My husband and I have the Explorer (https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Explorer-2-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00A7EXF4C/ref=pd_bxgy_468_img_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VAHEVHZJJYNQ2ZA0WTAC) for tandem and it is just the slowest, clumsiest, most comfortable boat. We call it the RaftYak. Tracks like hell without the skeg, but does alright with it.
Would an inflatable model work? https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Explorer-2-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00A7EXF4C
How did you manage to get it so cheap? On Amazon its more expensive with the shipping to Malta https://www.amazon.de/Intex-Explorer-Personen-Aufblasbares-Aluminium/dp/B00A7EXF4C/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1532511095&sr=1-1&keywords=explorer+k2
I got the Explorer K2. You can barely find anywhere to get them, and they are so overpriced. Even looking for a life jacket here they were charging €60 per life jacket. Was like fuck that and ordered from ebay.
It's this model - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A7EXF4C/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Used once and works great. I just live uptown and haven't found time to take it over to Bayou St. John as much as I'd like.

/u/AgentAlinaPark you linked a different model, this one still costs $200. It's still used regardless and OP most likely won't see past $150/$160.

Seems like everyone bought that $80 inflatable amazon kayak. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Explorer-2-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00A7EXF4C
Oh yeah, apparently, the inflatable kayak in question can handle some “mild rapids”. I would use it for fishing, but wouldn’t take it anywhere rocky
