A few months ago, I was helping a new Data Analyst to settle in, made sure she had PBID installed, gave her access to the workspaces, etc. She then freaked out because she'd opened PBID and it looked completely wrong, where were all the buttons she was expecting to see? It turned out that she'd only ever used Power Query, which her manager was unaware of.
For learning PBI and DAX, I started completely from scratch and checked out quite a few books, finally settling on these:
Introducing Microsoft Power BI by Ferrari & Russo: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IPIUTTU/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title
Definitive Guide to DAX, also by Ferrari & Russo: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TS4FPZM/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title
Applied DAX with Power BI by Teo Lachev: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RTLVGY1/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title
I didn't actually get that far with them, reading the introductory chapters then dipping into later chapters as needed, but I've still been a PBI expert in every role I've had since then. For me, the most important lesson was understanding the different layers within PBI, what they do and how to use them - that goes a long way in distinguishing you from people who just treat it as Yet Another Reporting Tool.
