The Ultimate Collection books are beautiful, collect things sensibly, and are good value for a quality hardcover collecting so many issues (although if you just want a high pages/dollar ratio then you can't beat the Compendiums). 13-issues-worth in hardcover with extras for $22 on Amazon.
Here's a physical way to read it, but this only covers the first 13 volumes I believe. https://www.amazon.com/dp/158240500X/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_B3J733B5WH0TF2T3A8CX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The way I personally read it was through an app called comixology, because if you got a membership with them you could read half of the entire series for free. Things might be different now, but if you aren't interested in owning physical copies, that's probably your best way.
There are also completely free websites you can use that are easy to find, but it feels a little shameful to do so, so I won't link them here.
Are you looking for comics that cover the episodes that have been released so far? Are you wanting to read the issues but only up to the stuff covered in the latest episode?
I'm having a little trouble completely understanding your questions, but the first 3 episodes of the show have covered the first 10 and a half issues of the comic in terms of plot, although the show is jumbling many things around and doing some things pretty differently too.
I think something like this on Amazon will cover most of what I expect to happen in Season 1.
Boom, right here
There's currently 10 hardcovers out. I bought all of them maybe 6 months ago, and it quickly became my favorite comic ever. Starts off cliched, but becomes sooo much more than that.
Invincible, by Robert Kirkman. Awesome super hero story, lots of twists, lots of humor. Not a graphic novel but an ongoing series, although this ought to get you started. If you can get past issue 11 without being hooked then I sincerely apologize. Also, Walking Dead by Kirkman is equally awesome. It's zombies instead of superheroes, if you're into that.
Not related to the OPs topic but check out the comic Invincible. I too for a dozen or more years lost my fix on DBZ. This comic is more like an american DBZ storyline with a great twist. Try it!http://www.amazon.com/Invincible-Ultimate-Collection-Vol-1/dp/158240500X/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1313527945&sr=8-16
Yep. I want to send you my favorite 4 panels from the series, but they are super spoiler-y. I'd say you should buy the first Invincible Ultimate Collection. It's pretty cheap and will give you a ton of content for the money. 20 bucks used from Amazon.
The name's Invincible.
(I was going to link to Wikipedia or TvTropes, but they're both full of spoilers. Amazon isn't.)
I have been confusing the "Invincible Ultimate Collection(s)" (hardcover, each has ~13 issues) and the Compendiums!
Looks like the Kindle/ComiXology version is what will work best for me. I hear the paperbacks are so thicc that it's hard to actually read comfortably unless you're sitting at a table
Here are a few suggestions off of the top of my head:
-Huck
-Valiant: Man 'o' War - Volume 1
-Valiant: Bloodshot - Volume 1
-He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Hope that helps!
Is this the one you're talking about:
Invincible: The Ultimate Collection, Vol. 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/158240500X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_2NjGwb2T6A5P0
Most of your answers are listed in the Amazon pages. So if you look at the Ultimate editon it is 13 issues and in the product details it says it is 400 pages, 11.2 x 7.6 x 1.2 inches, and 3.2 pounds. All of them are well put together and good quality and rest is determined by you. I have the Ultimate one and I ma fine with it, but my gf finds larger ones bulky and harder to read. So if looking for the most for you buck then look at number of pages or issues per book and figure out which is the best buy for that price. If you don't like larger/heavier then the product details will show dimensions and weight and it comes to your personal tastes on if you like them larger or smaller or don't care.
I'm pretty against the "Big Two". That being said, you should read everything dubsideofmoon suggested. Image has a bunch of new series. You'll probably be able to get your hands on the #1 issues of Saga, the Manhattan Projects and Peter Panzerfaust. Also, I HIGHLY recommend looking into Invincible. It's somewhere around issue #90 right now, but you can easily grab the collected editions.
