You can also get wireless charging mounts that clamp to the phone instead of using a magnetic plate. I found this one on Amazon:
It includes a video showing how it works, and it even rotates! I want that so bad.
I went with this bad boy and hardwired it to the fuse box near your left foot. I tucked the cable where the dash meets the windshield and ran it down the hole where the a-pillar meets the dash.
I have several of this car mount/wireless charger. They worked great on my Nexus 6. Unfortunately I got a different phone without wireless charging so I cannot use that part of it. It is very convenient to just put it in and not have to worry about plugging in the charging cable. The suction cup sticks well, even to a textured dashboard.
Is this what you're thinking you want? I guess it's not necessarily magnetic, but I have the non-Qi version and it does a fantastic job of holding onto my phone.
I use this one with the wireless charging. They also have a regular version.
I love this mount.
I just got the iOttie one touch - www.amazon.com/iOttie-Wireless-Standard-Motorola-Smartphones/dp/B00UXS7958/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1441592633&sr=8-8&keywords=qi+charger+phone
I quite like it - you just push your phone against it, it claps onto it, and it charges, no fiddling around with it even though it's one oil the Qi coil is in the right spot for the N6.
To take it out you just tap the buttons on the side, very simple.
FYI: Mine came with a charger - so you don't need to buy a 2amp one for the car.
It's kinda a bit pricy compared to even the non Qi version but to me the convenience was worth the extra $30.
This is what you need. I have this dash mount (not with the wireless charger) and absolutely love it. Super easy to use, has never fallen off, perfect! I am just starting to look into wireless charging, that's how I can across this thread.
I have also been wondering this. Currently on my note 3 I use the Spigen magnetic mount and enjoy not having to fight with a mount.
Now I have my note 8 I'm looking forward to using wireless and I know that the magnetic plate will interfere with the charge process. I came across this iOttie however it doesn't support fast charge and its £65 from amazon which is a lot more than I'd be willing to pay. I discovered they have this model coming soon, I think we are both looking for a similar solution. The only other thing that slightly annoys me is that they both use micro USB rather than type C.
There are some on amazon if you search for “wireless car charger mounts”.
Link to one.
The AMPS hole pattern is an industry standard. You will need a wireless charger that can somehow adapt to it. The iOttie charger I use has a 17mm ball connection on the back, so I bought a 17mm to AMPS adapter, similar to THIS.
EDIT: It looks like the charger you bought has a ball mount. Just measure the diameter and see of you can find an AMPS ball adapter that matches the size
I use this wireless charging dash mount along with this Qi Wireless Receiver. I keep a substantial case on my phone and the wireless charges just fine through it. I use this along with the bluetooth in my car so I never have to even think about wires.
I'm very specific about car docks and I'd definitely recommend this one.
I've been using it for a few months now in my Altima and it is BY FAR the best dock I've ever used. It's extremely simple to dock and remove your phone with one hand, the build quality is very good, configuring it to almost any angle is possible, the suction is strong, and best of all it has built in wireless charging (though I removed the wireless charging component in it and modified the mount to have a fast wireless charger instead).
There's also the non-wireless charging model for much cheaper, which is still a good item. My wife has it in her car and I've only used it a few times, but I feel that the dock is a little more shaky than the other one, maybe because there's less plastic because of the lack of wireless charging components.
The issue with the iOttie is that it is not fast wireless charging, but they do have a new version out.
I replaced my iOttie [link]
with this one - dodocool Qi Wireless Charger 10W 3-coil Fast Wireless Charging Car Mount: [link]
The dodocool has a goofy name but works well. It is able to charge my phone while using Spotify and Google Maps at the same time. FYI Waze does seem to use a bit more juice than Google Maps.
Also, I like how it has the vent clip style mount included as I never have had any luck with the suction cup base mounts staying put after a hot day.
This is what I have. It expands and should work with most cases. You can pair it with a cupholder base (mine is Charger City).
As I was going through your requirements, I thought of my iOttie, until I got to wireless charging, but it looks like they have a wireless version.
I don't use the sticky pad they provide as I haven't felt the need to, sucks pretty hard.
I know it's not magnetic but I love my iottie wireless charging dock.
I understand the frustration, but I've had a great experience with this guy. Use it every day and haven't had any problems.
I use iOttie HLCRIO132 which has wireless charging (I used to have note5 )

For the app, yes it does delete old videos automatically if that's what you mean by looping. It also does background recording so i just make it record in the background while using my phone normally.

I have the Supcase unicorn beetle pro for my s7 edge, with the Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand and it works perfectly. Side note, I have the iOttie wireless car charger and it's able to charge ~1% every 10 minutes with max brightness, maps, and a gps app running.
I use this one. [link]
I have a solid mounting solution for my car that sits nicely out of the way and still accessible. Took a few tries, but settled on this combination:
iottie QI charger, connected to a ram mount ball, mounted to my dash via proclip.
I have one from iotttie, but i'm only in the car to and from work usually.

Anyone own one of these iOttie One Touch QI mounts? ([link])
I haven't gotten past the $65 price tag yet...
There's this one. And I'm sure they have other styles to choose from. I love mine.
I got this one as a gift for a friend and didn't really went well for his Lumia 950 XL. Volume/power buttons are pressed by the clips and it is complicated to align it for the wireless charging.
You can manage to get it in the correct position but it is a feat of pure skill.
