I just got done kitting out my bike for night riding and I got this for a headlight:

I never measured visibility with a tape or anything, but I’ve been concerned enough to point it down when I see cars coming because I’m worried I might blind the driver. Been thinking about putting some kind of hood type thing over the top so it can’t shine upwards. Works great for me so far.

It likely depends on the kart. If it has a roll cage a mount like this light uses would likely work. My Coleman kart did not have a headlight so I got this and it works great.
