Someone on here recommended this book and it has been so refreshing:
It’s like we’re all led to believe if we just ‘focus on ourselves’ and ‘stop trying’ we will develop into these beautiful butterflies who are finally deserving of someone’s love. All the while people who aren’t doing an ounce of ‘work’ on themselves are falling in love every single day. Or we just blame ourselves for how wretched we must be as a person if no one wants to be with us.
Should we never be introspective about some possible reasons relationships aren’t working? No, but sometimes it really is just luck of not meeting the right person at the right time.
It's Not You: 27 (Wrong) Reasons You're Single is also a great book for women who are in a low point while trying (or not trying) to date.
