You can use that pinout and match it with one of these adapters and you have your cable

Just match tx from radio to rx from adapter and vice versa gnd with gnd and you are ready to go.
I've been using these adapters for hp 48g calculators for over a year no issue at all.
And also built my cable for my Baofeng it works great with CHIRP
Hope it helps.
No need for drivers! You connect it via the UART to usb converter to your pc. Un Ubuntu the drivers for such converters are most likely already installed. Open a serial reader of your choice (minicom or very simple the one of the Arduino IDE). If everything works and you chooses the right port, you should see NMEA messages streaming in.
Meaning "legit" RS-232, with negative & positive voltages reaching 15V in magnitude -- as opposed to a TTL-UART with 0V/5V logic levels -- which is to say, any cheap CP210x-based adapters aren't going to work without extra hardware :)
Is there a manual available (or a part number that I can search to get a manual)? What (PC) program did you have to use to download the code, or was the (E)PROM programming a separate step?
I'd love to take it if there are no other serious offers at the ready :)
I'm using this bridge.
IZOKEE CP2102 Module USB to TTL... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D6LLX19?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
So, doing what you said worked thanks.
Ok, I decided not to solder on GPIO pins to my raspberry pi 0, I have servo motors that I want to connect, could I use these as GPIO pins by plugging them into the Pi? https://www.amazon.com/IZOKEE-CP2102-Converter-Adapter-Downloader/dp/B07D6LLX19/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=gpio+to+usb&qid=1634814606&s=electronics&sr=1-29
If you take apart there are 4 pins inside. You need a USB to TTL cable to use this method, but it allows you access to the orbi bootloader where you can usually save a router.

Use Putty and make sure terminal emulation is on VT400. During the boot process you can halt booting by pressing a key at some point and them access the U-Boot menu. Lots of options in there.
Should I buy a USB to UART adapter like this?
