I received my x56 in December and have really enjoyed it. I picked up some mounts on Amazon which really helped.
J-PEIN (Upgraded): the desk mount for the flight sim game joystick, throttle and hotas systems. Fully support almost all of flight sim game hand-control devices. (not include game-device) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_ZhMaGbTNM2CF3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I play Elite Dangerous mostly. I’m considering getting Microsoft Flight Simulator.
I’d suggest going with these mounts. They are much cheaper, and come with everything you need to mount a warthog. No additional accessories needed.
They are also available through Amazon so you won’t have to pay for crazy international shipping. I owned these prior to upgrading to VKB Mounts, and can say that they get the job done.
Edit: Check out all the photos on the page I linked you. They show both the Warthog Stick and Throttle mounted on them. $130 for 2 mounts is a fucking awesome deal.
Here you go Bud

One is TM and the other is J-PIEN gear mount $69 on Amazon. I was so impressed with it I cancelled one of my TM mounts because it will work with the Honeycomb stuff too... I think!

Yeah, they restock on May 10th at 2 AM Eastern Time. LOL. I just ordered 2 desk mounts from Amazon. These look pretty good, and the base adapter thing comes with them. I'll get them on Monday, so will be able to test them out before the restock on the 10th. If they are not so great, I'll just send em back to Amazon. People seem to like them though, and the price isn't too bad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Someone here found these J-PEIN (Upgraded) which struck a nice balance between cost and function. So I picked up two for the joystick and throttle and they work pretty well - very adjustable and easy to clamp to my desk when I need to use them, then move out of the way when I don't.
these have a hydraulic clamp. put a mark on your desk, or some tape or whatever, for where they go and they're easy as fuck to either slide out the way or just take off. they're wicked stable, as well. $75 for the pair (us)

Just dropping off another option that is less than a third of the cost of some other options.
J-PEIN mounts have worked perfectly for me. Solid as a rock. Easy to assemble and mount with a clamp. Height and distance from desk are widely configurable. Cannot configure angles though if you think you need that.

Looking for some help with a desk setup! I recently upgraded from an old G29 racing wheel to a newer Thrustmaster T300RS and accompanying TH8A shifter. I have a sturdy sit/stand desk that I clamp these to directly (no floor space for a full sim rig in an otherwise multi-functional space), but I'm running into an issue with the shifter. The old G29 shifter was low profile and I could mount it just fine at the desk level, but the new TH8A is a long throw, and I do a lot of truck simming with it and the shift knob I use to get a range/splitter control is even taller than the default.
I'm looking for a relatively cheap way to drop the shifter, without needing a separate floor stand. I was looking at something like this which is more geared towards a HOTAS setup, but I think I can just clamp the existing desk mount directly to the plate. Has anyone ever tried something like this? I'm also open to other suggestions as long as they don't break the bank or require much DIY work.
If you want a cheaper alternative to the Monstertech option, there's the JPIEN offering: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've been using two of them, and I've got no complaints. They aren't exactly the most beautiful mounts, but I've been able to easily mount my Orion throttle and Warthog stick to them. I keep them under my desk since I use my desk during the day for work, and I can quickly mount them.
The part that clamps to the desk has a rubber pad on the top metal arm, but the bottom plastic part that actually locks into place to clamp it there is a hard plastic. To prevent it from messing up the bottom of my desk, I just grabbed two cork candle lids that I use as a buffer, but it works pretty solidly.
I can grab some pictures of them on my desk later, if you would like.
Out of curiosity, what's this cost you on materials and time?
I just ended up picking up a pair of the J-Pein mounts on Amazon when they were on sale for 49.99 ea last week: https://www.amazon.com/J-PEIN-Upgraded-joystick-hand-control-game-device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7

If you're in the US these are freaking amazing and WAY more affordable.

Also VKB rudders hands down if you dont want toe brakes which honestly I dont even care for anymore.

I have had the Thrustmaster clamps on set-aside/favorites on Amazon, Bestbuy, Walmart websites, plus used on FB marketplace and Kijiji (all Canada). Plus there are generic brands like this for.less that would also work. J-PEIN (Upgraded): the desk mount for the flight sim game joystick, throttle and hotas systems. This is because the typical market for these mounts is for people that have spent hundreds of dollars for virpils or high end VKB sticks. At that point it's worth the investment for a rock solid base for your sticks.
There are alternatives such as these from Amazon, but I don't know how good they are. You usually get what you pay for.

J-PEIN from Amazon. Reasonable price, very sturdy. Went together in about an hour and a half while watching TV
I use two of these, one for the yoke and one for the throttle:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a little pricey but honestly worth it. I work on the same computer I sim on, so it's nice to be able to pull them off my desk with ease
Not sure what "inexpensive" exactly entails, but this was the cheapest desk mount that worked for me for a while:
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
Doesn't list the NXT on there, but someone in the Q&A said they mounted it fine.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_6MDRTWPB1KK9140F4NWH
Any mount may work as long as you can orient it the way I did, this mount is a pain to keep adjusting, but once I was able to clamp it and set the right height it was fine. Also fyi this is a mirra one and not a mirra 2. So YMMV.
I've used the JPEIN desk mount for the better part of 3 years for all my flight Sims. They work really well for the price. I don't have any real complaints about them.
I used 2x J-pein HOTAS mount. They're easy to assemble and sturdy, aside from the mounting bar for the MFD's. Be careful when tightening it, it warps super easy. The HOTAS mounts are really good though.
J-Pein desk mounts from Amazon have worked great for me.

I got some of these mounts too. They're not bad, and I got them overnighted from Amazon.

Check to be sure your gear is supported or be ready to get creative.
Also, make sure your desk is at least 30 inches from the floor, otherwise your gear might be too low.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Z-PzFbEXNAGS6
They are pretty good once you go through the pain of assembling them. I'd also recommend looking into foxx mounts as they seem to be a cleaner setup for a similar price. However the owner hasn't restarted taking orders yet, so I went with these cause I didn't want to wait.
You can always order the J-Pein mounts as well from Amazon. Just be aware that the instructions are probably more usable as toilet paper than an actual instruction set for anything.
Thank you for the reply and information. I use J Pein mounts for my TM WH. Is that a mount that your triple MFD would be able to be made to fit to?

Thanks in advance!
I bought PEIN mounts on Amazon, kind of expensive, but great quality. They also come with the adapter plates and rails for a bunch of bases, including WarBrd. I think that they are out of stock right now (there were 6 and I bought 2), but they will probably restock any day now.
There are other options, but these were nice and easy to grab with Amazon 2 day shipping.

You can contact the company directly through the HOTAS discord very easily if you waiting ask about restock.
Got these J-Pein mounts from amazon. I debated between that and Foxxmounts But the 2-day shipping and flexible brackets for when I upgrade sold me. Thanks /r/hotas

My first button box build! When I was figuring out what to do, I found it really helpful seeing what others had done, so I thought I’d share mine in case it might be helpful for people considering doing something similar. This button box is for the left-cockpit off-throttle controls for the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft; I modeled it after the Su-33’s cockpit, since that’s the FC3 aircraft that has the most left-cockpit off-throttle controls, but I laid it out so it works well for most or all of the left-cockpit off-throttle controls of all the FC3 aircraft. (I play in VR, so it’s not confusing having the wrong labels when I fly other aircraft - the labels are just for fun since I can’t see them in VR anyway.) I have to say, it feels so much better to use what’s basically the actual controls for these aircraft rather than just pressing buttons on the throttle or keyboard to accomplish the same actions! And it’s much easier than groping for the keyboard in VR.

I’m using a Leo Bodnar BBI-32 board with 32 inputs:
and I use Joystick Gremlin to do things like sending the command when a switch is moved, so I can map the on and off movement of single-throw switches to two commands.
(Honestly a VIRPIL throttle would have gotten me most of the way there with a lot less work, but they’re always sold out and I haven’t been able to order one, so… here we are!)
This was a pretty fun learning process - I learned how to use Fusion 360, how to use a laser cutter, and how to 3D print. The button caps, the mode select knob, the landing lights switch cap, and the landing gear lever are all 3D printed. The faces of the panels are three layers of 3 mm laser-cut acrylic, so that I could get the top of the toggle switch bases flush with the panels. The top layer is white acrylic that I spray-painted black and then etched away the paint with the laser cutter. (The button labels are done the same way - they’re acrylic inserts that drop into the top of the button caps.) I thought about replicating the Su-33’s blue cockpit colors, but doing three colors (white, black, and blue) was much more complicated than two, so I went with just black and white since I can’t see it anyway in VR. The base, which allows for my TWCS throttle to be attached aft of the button box, is 6 mm plexiglass, and I have the whole thing mounted on a J-PEIN desk mount. The side panels are ¼”-thick Delrin (also cut on the laser cutter, and then spray-painted matte black), which was easy to drill into so I could screw the whole thing together.
I have a new appreciation now for the price of higher-level sim gear like the Warthog throttle now - I spent close to $100 (over $100 with shipping) on switches and encoders etc. alone (and that’s not including about $50 for the Leo Bodnar board)!
The mount and the desk both came from Amazon I will post the links in respective order.
I believe you are referring to the two touch screens that I use correct? If so, those are a phone and a tablet utilizing an app called game glass. It allows me to utilize many different functions on my ship via touch screen with essentially no delay between when I touch the button to when it responds on my game.
Typically the phone that is attached to my thruster on the left side is used for my exploration tab which gives me system information as well as being able to Target next system, hyperspace and supercruise features. The tablet I utilize for all of my flight systems ie: cheesing, landing gear, gear scoop, night vision, ships camera, etc.
The box in between the flight stick and the thruster is the saitek logitech heavy equipment side panel. You can find the link below
https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/farm/farm-simulator-side-panel.html
On the physical hotas mounts I also purchased phone mounts for each mount on Amazon link below
If you have any questions about my setup please feel free to ask. I have spent a lot of time and money on it and I am always super excited and enthusiastic to talk about it.
Edit: link for game glass below

It really depends on what kind of chair or desk you have. Either way, check this out - https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=hotas+mounts&qid=1595268628&sr=8-2

To be honest your design looks a bit flimsy. The runner is a nice idea, but anything like that will reduce its stability and you'll end up with something that feels very wobbly - which if you use a joystick you will know makes it really useless.
I would advise, if you can afford it, to look at the options that are available commercially. Virpil sells some great mounts (https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-desk-mount-v3-s.html) that are hugely customisable. and there are some options from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=psdc_402048011_t1_B086GT8KDR).
I do recall an amazon/ebay one that can be put away, but you might have to do some searching.
If you are set on making one. have a look at t slot aluminium extrusions would help you greatly.
If you're interested in mounting it to your desk, you could use one of these mounts:
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_PKS8DRX3S807F99HKCD8 25 bucks off as well. Some assembly required, but if you have the capacity to construct a Lego you'll be fine!
I just want to know how much they're going to cost. I estimate I can get the parts to make a pair of knock-off Foxx mounts for around £60 plus half a day's worth of time to put them together. If these mounts are going to be the same price as that or less, then I'd buy them purely to save the time-sink of putting my own together.
EDIT: Scratch that, $88 but not available via Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543739372&sr=8-1&keywords=J-PEIN+Steel+Desk+Mount
Desk is messy, been moving a lot of things around. A week ago, I was using just a VKB joystick and a CH Pro Throttle that had to sit on my desk. So, I have been upgrading this week. The desk mounts arrived last Thursday and were an immediate improvement. Link below. One caveat on these though with the VKB Gladiator Mk II, due to how forward the position on the base the stick sits, if mounted "normally", the forward pitch of the stick will be impeded by the mount. No problem for me, as side mounting it works better for my desk anyway. Unfortunately, these mounts don't have the flexibility to move the mount towards the rear.
The controls -
VK Gladiator MkII that I have had for a couple of years now. Can't wait until VKB's upgrade kits come back in, I want to upgrade to a Kosmosina grip.
X56 throttle, arrived yesterday, replaced a CH Pro Throttle. Just finished mapping it for E:D. I REALLY want a Virpil MongoosT-50 CM-2, but with the way their stuff goes so fast after restocking, that will be a bit of a crapshoot.
Razer Tartarus Pro, arrived last week, I am using it to control all the panel menus in E:D and a couple odds and ends
Razer Wildcat. I like it for SRV driving.
And of course, mouse and keyboard.
desk mounts I found on Amazon. with my odd desk, they work perfect. Oh, the desk is odd because it is built into the dinette area of the Fleetwood Bounder (think Breaking Bad) i live in.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
BTW, it looks like Amazon has these on sale right now. https://www.amazon.com/J-PEIN-Upgraded-joystick-hand-control-game-device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
Yes, as others said. I went from using a stick on my desk/in my lap to using a desk mounted center stick between the legs. Comfort went up a lot and I can fly a lot longer without my hand or wrist getting tired.
I use this cheaper mount from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/J-PEIN-Upgraded-joystick-hand-control-game-device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
Then since my stick has a 200mm extension, I also use two C-clamps to attach the mount to the desk which allows the mount to go lower than normal.
That mount is great though, can't beat it for the price. Some of the other mount brands are insanely expensive. I think it tells which joysticks/hotas it will fit somewhere on the amazon page or information.
I use this for Orion 1 but need L shape wire cheaper option
Those things are pretty flimsy, unless you spend an absurd amount of money (relatively speaking for what it is you're buying) on one of the good ones. You can get actual HOTAS desk mounts for cheaper than a sturdy one of those mouse trays.
I have one of these on my sim rig. There are different sizes you can choose from, you may find one that fits what you want. I've used it for various things, I used to have it extended off the side of my left stick to hold my throttles, but after finding a different mounting solution for those, it's now on the other side as a snack tray. (Snacks are important for simming!) It's fairly sturdy, putting pressure on it flexes the arm and plate of my sim rig more than the extension itself flexes. It's not something that you'll want to really wrench on with a stick on it, but it'll do if you're not too heavy handed.
Have the VKB stronghold mount for the cyclic and the jpein mount for the throttle.
Woops didn’t notice you wrote “mounts.”

I have 4 (!) of these for:

If interested I can upload photos of setup
Yeah this was my concern. There is a lot of torque involved, particularly when the stick is extended, and a monitor arm just doesn't look sufficient.

J-Pein - they are study enough to mount any sitck on the market. I've been using them with x55 setup 0 issues.
It supports virtually all sticks / throttles with what's inside the box.

I went from the mouse clamps posted above to these and can never go. It’s a nominal price difference if you will be using them more than a little.
I use 2 Gladiators on my desk and have never had any issues with slipping or tilting. That being said, I have been considering getting 2 of these or this set since they don't cost more the flight sticks but I haven't pulled the trigger.

Don't know about the price, in Amazon they appear cheaper to me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_75WPN1BEHZFJ2NDT95FX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
this is what i have. works great. https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
I got the J-pein mounts from Amazon US delivered to New Zealand. Best bang for buck mounts I reckon although Amazon UK are showing them as unavailable
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=j-pein&qid=1626670144&sr=8-1
I would also go ahead and recommend something like these mounts
I dunno whataa the dimension for the Hilver but the monstertech is too close to the edge https://www.monster.tech/en/?attachment_id=7236
I cant find the measurement for VPC
So either of these would be a safe

JPIEN Mount
As far as the throttle goes I posted this today. https://www.reddit.com/r/hotas/comments/nb0bnj/vesa_mounts_for_8040_sim_rigs/
You can easily make a solid adapter plate (plywood, aluminum, 3D printed) to go between your throttle's base and the VESA mount.
Not sure on the center mount but you should be able to mount it with some extra profile and right angle brackets. You might be able to hack something like this to make it work. https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=j+pein&qid=1620865022&sr=8-1
Absolutely! Keep in mind I also purchased separate phone mounts that I used the hardware that came with the hotas mounts to set them in place I'll link both of them just in case you're interested in both.
These are the clamps I'm using, I got them off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Flight sim gear is sold out everywhere since Microsoft Flight Simulator came out basically, but I scrounged my setup together over the past few years (or, in the case of the pedals, like a decade ago)
Thrusmaster FCS HOTAS: $170
HOTAS desk mount: $65
CH Pro USB pedals: $70
Thrustmaster MFD Cougars: $98
DCS World F/A-18C Hornet module: $59 (steam sale)
ABS Gladiator pre-built gaming PC w/ i7-9700F & RTX 3070: $1,499 (no longer available)
Wireless keyboard and mouse, PC monitor: Free through my work
Thanks for the wealth of info! The link for Virpil Sizing/ergonomics is super helpful.
And I have a similar hand size to you, so I would probably have similar challenges with the VKB MCG grip, which rules out VKB for now (as I didn't find any of their other grips have the button layout or features that I was looking for).
I also do have some basic mounts, the J-PEIN Upgraded set.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got those primarily cause they come with all the adapters and plate sizes for all the major manufacturers, so they work with the Thrustmaster's I have now, as well as any VKB or Virpil bases. I may upgrade down the road with better mounts if needed, but for now they are sturdy with no flex.

Another topic brought up in this thread that I had not considered before was Stick Extensions, and if I went the Virpil route I would have to get the VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base instead of the WarBRD which does cost a bit more. Have you run any stick extensions in any of your setups before? I am wondering how much of a game changer it is. Too bad the VKB currently isn't an option with their grips as their Gunfighter Bases all have the ability to take extensions.
J-Pein might be a cheaper alternative desk mounting solution (though I can't speak for their quality): https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
Also, you could go (semi-)DIY:

I've been using my pair of VKB NXTs mounted on a pair of these. They're nice because you can just unclamp then and put them away when not in use. You can also adjust the heights to work with your chair or desk height. my shtoyle
Gotta get you some desk mounts for those now!
J-pein mounts, available at Amazon - $70 each
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
both bases can be mounted (although you need an adapter for the warbrd), so no worries there.
i'm not sure if you're in the usa, but if you are, jpein has a mount that you can use for the throttle. it has a couple of mounting options for various throttles and sticks and is adjustable. hmm...unfortunately, it seems like it's out of stock right now though
it's $70 and works well enough for my cm2 throttle. originally i planned on getting it for my gunfighter mcg pro, but after receiving the stick, i realized that i needed to buy vkb's mount because it was a little higher than i would've liked using the 200mm extension. if it does turn up in stock again before you submit your order, i think the jpein mount would be stable enough if you're not using extensions (ie not extending the stick away from the desk for clearance). it can be flimsy with side to side torque when extended out like that.
anyway, if you do end up getting the virpil mount however, you'll probably want to get the v3 s and if you're getting the warbrd, the warbrd base adapter
if you're not planning on extensions, there isn't really a compelling reason to get the cm2 base over the warbrd. although it costs extra, you can buy the linear sim cams, and the extra heavy spring for the warbrd (but if you're not using extensions or the all metal thrustmaster grips you probably wouldn't need this).
hope that helps,
good luck with your purchase!
edit: modified the links to be easier to read
Looks like the J-Pein hotas mounts. They run $80 on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
MonsterTechUSA makes some aluminum ones for about $100-$130 a piece.
https://monstertechusa.com/product/joystick-hotas-table-mount/
I have these and like them a lot
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The J-Pein mounts are pretty quick to remove. Sturdy and a little less expensive than Monstertech and Virpil's mounts.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
not really, the only time i used one, i just made it (basically a wood shelf)
my current desk has a sliding shelf under the main desk, its just right for my hotas or yoke to clamp to so i dont need it
quick search found this one just to give you an idea of what they are, but never used it (dang sim gear has gotten expensive)
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=joystick+mount&qid=1597293468&sr=8-2
Sir you are looking for the J-PEIN.
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=j+pein&qid=1596742971&sr=8-2
Cheapest most reliable desk mounts. Korean made. And I have two. Use them for my VPC Constellation Alphas. But they do support the TWCS Throttle as well (I owned one but gave it to a friend after upgrading to Team VPC)
hey that's a pretty nice chair. looks more comfy than my playseat bucket...I use something called a J-pein mount. I modified it slightly to mount to my seat as opposed to a desk, but all I really did was turn a few pieces around and cut it shorter. maybe this could help? btw my hotas is center stick, not sure if you were going for center or side stick...
hope this helps! happy simming!
Oof, definitely don't get Monstertechs unless budget is no issue. They're very overpriced. Even a j pein from amazon works fine for much less: https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7
J-Pein v2 parts (universal oval-plate, plate mount/adjuster, 1x 'T' bracket w/ 90 degree slotted bracket, 1x .5m(?) x 10mm(?) 'C' channel extruded aluminum [aluminium for you on the wrong side of the road], associated fastening hardware salvaged from the respective mounting kits)
iBOLT TabDock Flexpro Clamp with the clampy part removed and just bolted to the side.
Amazon Fire 10 HD but do yourself a favor and get the 8 plus HD or whatever.
VKB Gunfighter mk3 Pro S SCG Premium
Razer Tartarus v2 Gaming Keypad - I really hate the software; if anyone has solutions to bypass it please let me know. The device isn't bad. I just use it as a button box, way overkill.
Mini USB Volume Control Knob but it's programmable if you have notepad open and hold the button down while connecting the cable. This lets you set each direction and the push as a different key which repeats as you rotate. This works great for most games since they can be sensitive about axes. They are also 'HID's so mesh outside of the game. I really want to explore QMK and custom keyboards with touch pads and rotary encoders more deeply. I'd replace both of these with a BMW iDrive type device if I could find one.
Edit: Nothing has been modified outside of popping some velcro to the bottom of the keypad and the volume knob.
Double Edit: My dust covers.
The J-PEIN mounts available on Amazon are actually really good for the price - I have two. Building them can be a bit of a pain if you're bad at critical thinking, but it didn't too long to figure out. Way more comfortable and stable than having my kit on the desk.
I bought 2 of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Joystick-Throttle-Hand-Control-Game-Device/dp/B07KJCC4Q7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=J-Pein&qid=1590539936&sr=8-1
Using them with a CH Pro Throttle (had to drill some holes in the plastic base, but I knew what I signed up for) and a VKB Gunfighter Mk.III (fits the J-PEIN mounting plate out of the box). They also do have foam pads for the undersides of the top plates, and the bottom plate is metal but has a plastic "shoe" to protect your table.
I am thinking I might be using too many devices. Hehe. Desk is a bit messy, I've been moving stuff around.
VK Gladiator MkII that I have had for a couple of years now. Can't wait until VKB's upgrade kits come back in, I want to upgrade to a Kosmosina grip.
X56 throttle, arrived yesterday, replaced a CH Pro Throttle. Just finished mapping it for E:D

There's a review video for this, using the Warthog, on Amazon. Video makes the mount look unstable when it is set low, is this accurate? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJCC4Q7?pf_rd_p=ab873d20-a0ca-439b-ac45-cd78f07a84d8&pf_rd_r=ZH4T7FQPKF1G6TRTM850 I'm considering buying it but the video makes it look pretty sloppy.

Thanks!
They're these HOTAS mounts.
I just started using a pair of J-PEIN mounts. They're designed with Thrustmaster gear in mind, not sure about your Virpil stick's mounts though.
I'm mentioning them because they include mounts for the Cougar MFDs. Just having the mounts is making me consider getting a pair :|
The Amazon listing has photos showing the MFDs mounted:

Unfortunately they are only sale on Amazon US.
