Hi New Dad! New dad here! This stuff is HARD! They say it gets easier. It does. But there’s always new challenges. It can be extremely frustrating man. You’re waking up at 2 or 3 or 4am or all three consecutively; your partner’s going through post-labor pains, and you have to go back to work. Whatever the case may be. Whatever you do, as frustrating as it can be, stay strong. Don’t yell at your newborn. They don’t know how to communicate what’s wrong. It’s typically three things: I’m tired, I’m hungry, my diaper’s dirty. It gets better.

TL;DR: Don’t show the baby you’re frustrated. They sense that shit

Quick tip: set a routine! We do bath time at 7pm, bottle at 8pm, and bed at 9pm. We bought a sound machine and that thing works wonders! Stays on all night. We set it to white noise. Baby stays asleep for a solid 10 hours!

I just searched Amazon and found multiple $20 options so I’m not sure why you think they are all $50.

$5-10 is not reasonable for a reliable one that’s loud enough to drown out sound from outside the baby’s room. But for $20 you can definitely get a good one. Like this one here

If you haven’t already, set a routine. For us, it was 7pm - bath time, 8pm bottle, 9pm bed (these times are the latest with bath time starting at 7p. Bottle and bed could be earlier).

We also invested in this sound machine and he slept a solid 7-8 hours.

Our son is now 1 year old. He was very fussy at 1 month, and at that age this is not uncommon, and very soon, you’ll get him on track!

It’s so frustrating at this age, but don’t lose hope!
