Buy a warm steam humidifier. Its only about $30. i have two of them, one for upstairs and one for downstairs and pretty much run them all winter. I think its a Holmes brand. I only remember that because I worship Holmes on Homes.
EDIT: here is a link I am of the opinion that the people that have given this a negative review were probably smoking crack. I would never put a hot humidifier on top of my dresser.
