convenience and price are pretty important I feel ya. I'd say in the mean time buy some grip tape on amazon. This is the stuff I use and I really like it. I wrap it on my thumbs when I do olympic lifting. You could use it for HG.
Also, I wonder if liquid chalk would be allowed? (or if anyone would even notice...) I noticed in some of the reviews for this product (I just searched for liquid chalk and this came up, I have no idea what the best brand is) that people say they use it because their gym does not allow conventional chalk. I think it might be worth grabbing a bottle and trying it out...I suspect the issue gyms have with chalk is more about chalk getting all over the floor rather than the bar (I mean you could just wipe off the barbell after youre done lifting anyway)
