I ordered cloth face masks with filters, and surgical masks from Amazon. These surgical masks are in stock right now w/ two-day delivery.
Lots of people selling cloth masks with filter pockets on Etsy, but I’ve found the quality of the cloth masks I ordered from China through Amazon were way better (and cheaper) than the highly-rated ones I ordered on Etsy. Probably because they’re manufactured in a dedicated facility vs someone using a sewing pattern at home. Only drawback is that it takes 2-4 weeks to receive cloth masks from China.
ban this asshole for trying to profit. stop hocking your warez here.
N95 masks are being held for hospital workers and emergency workers, but you can get a regular mask on Amazon right now.
Here are some disposable masks in stock on Amazon, $30 for a pack of 50. I received mine, cut one apart and confirmed they are 3 layers with the center one being a melt blown cloth filter.
re: hand sanitizer, if there is a local distillery near you, give them a call. I lucked out and one near me had converted part of their setup and was selling the WHO formula hand sanitizer. I fill plastic pocket spritzers and use those
> I am very resistent to masks for aesthetic reasons.
Then wear the fucking mask. Don't ask for evidence, just order 100 from Wuhan for $30 and deal with the aesthetic mismatch.
The possible benefit discounted against whatever you think the probability of inefficacy is so fucking large I cannot imagine you think this was a good post to make without being so deep in the navel-gazing game that is the culture that you are incapable of stopping and thinking, as an individual person, "What do I actually lose here?"
Seriously. This isn't a good look on its own, 'aesthetically'. Aesthetics are not a valid concern in a public health situation, even a totally fake one. Your uncertainty, if you value your ability to evaluate the situation on anything even vaguely resembling an empirical level, should be high enough that the vanishingly tiny cost of wearing a mask is a net benefit in any meaningful calculation.
If you absolutely need some kind of reference, why not this? 2009, before any of this got political. Why not anything on the front page of Google Scholar?
Shit man, just educate yourself on the terminology enough to be able to refine better searches, then dig deep. One of the great things about the hard sciences is it's really hard to argue with someone's empirical experimentation. Doesn't mean it can't be wrong, it just means you're going to have to do some of your own to attempt to refute them.
If you stood to gain $1000 for wearing a smeared piece of carrot on your forehead every day, with a once a year chance of it happening, I would say fucking do it. Everybody else would be, too. Easy bet. Forget your aesthetic concerns, they're a mental block that prevent you from doing something good because the deep seated contrarianism in your brain has turned pathological in this case. Wear an ugly fucking sweat to your next Christmas party if it'll find you a hot partner or whatever you care about. This is an absolutely solipsistic question.
Get over it. Wear a mask. Buy a year's worth of these. They will be effective enough to get most of the social benefit.

What is a "surgical mask" to you?
Notice that all of these people in surgery are wearing simple, disposable 3-ply masks that widely available on Amazon and other stores. Even the CDC notes the difference.

Buy it through amazon, dont send it yourself unless it is n95
The surgical mask are made in china
These face masks have been in stock for 2 weeks. 7 cent masks being sold by Amazon for $39 (sometimes $40) for 50. https://www.amazon.com/Face-Mask-Pack-of-50/dp/B086KMYNSS
The hand sanitizer does sell out fast. Amazon originally sold an 8oz bottle for $2.60 or $2.90. Purell retail on 8oz is $2.99. But during corona Amazon raised the price to $8.99 on their brand (hit 1 year on the chart): https://keepa.com/#!product/1-B07NFX5Q2Z
I know people that work in amazon warehouses and they have told me if you ask about corona safety you are fired and replaced. If you get sick you are sent home and replaced. Now this is second hand information ill give you that.
One you didn't address is that its a slap in the face to sellers that Amazon brand non essential items were prioritized during this while all other brands weren't.
