Maybe yes if you want to focus the herding instinct. otherwise only recommendation is ball with stiffer plastic that can't be torn up. The stiff plastic ones limits her options to only fetching it or pushing it around the yard. IE she has to play, she can't chew it.
We have this one for now, it was her first herding ball but now she's big enough to mouth it and bring it back https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EMSVVAI/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_V4CKP9NM1V7RK6X0MD5V_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
We like it. It's soft enough for her not to hurt her teeth and small enough for us to still throw and kick. I'll eventually graduate her up to a bigger ball that she will only be able to push around.
Amazon has a soccer ball type ball called the Jolly ball or something. It's not stuffed and doesnt have stitches. If the dog bites it, it pops back into shape. They're under $20.
My guy used to destroy most of the toys I gave him. So I had to make a habbit of only letting have certain things while I was actively using them with him.
I got the soccer ball version of the Jolly Ball...it's softer and easier for dogs to pick up. We're still working on the soccer-playing, though...
Our boxer mix is very similar. We found that actively playing with her with big, hard to destroy balls helped. We play and then take it away. We liked both of these because they can be punctured a lot and still remain able to use and play with.

I found this for those interested in this as I was. Not Kong but has better reviews than the Kong soccer ball.

Here too!
Suggestion if he likes balls.. the Jolly Soccer Ball is aaaamazing. We're going on over a year of daily play. It's full of punctures but hasn't deflated. It's his favorite toy in the world. I paid I think $40 at the pet store. I can't recommend it enough.
Jolly Soccer Ball
In all seriousness if you don’t have a ball like this one for your dog you should try it! It doesn’t deflate.
I have a 2 year old red nosed pit.

My pit is obsessed with large circular balls, and she'll easily deflate a soccer ball in minutes, so I bought this rubber soccer-sized ball that doesn't deflate. I kick and throw this ball around, and all her attention is on it. She's a gnaw-er, so she try to bite through basketballs and soccer balls as quickly as she can. This ball has stayed un-deflated for weeks now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EMSVVAI/
For fetching with smaller balls, I bought two lacrosse balls, as they are very durable. And the reason they're durable is because they're not mostly empty inside, like regular bouncy balls you'll find at Petco. My pit isn't good at dropping the ball at me, so I throw the second when she gets close enough to me with the first, and she'll drop the ball: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006JANLLU/

I also have the luxury of having a co-worker who had a dog supply ecommerce website (closed shop last month) and he gave me these large deer antler(?) bones as well as several other items for free. But the antler bone is easily the best chew toy the dog has ever tried to chew on, and it was free.
