You are very misinformed. For instance, with the leather sheath on the kabar, you cannot put the knife in the opposite way, something you would kind of need to do to go from belt carry to scout carry, unless you could flip the sheath around. But regardless, the leather sheath cannot be carried scout style.
here ya go!
Come back when youve done your research. Ill be waiting.
Do you have to pay import taxes or anything? I can go grab you a new KaBar at the damn knife store here and ship it to you. I'm happy to help any way I can.
Edit: Amazon has them new for $65.09 with free shipping (to me) with Prime. I can then ship it to you. Should come in under your budget. Let me know if you're interested.
KA-BAR Full Size US Marine Corps Fighting Knife, Straight [link]
There are a bunch of different versions if you just search for Ka Bar, black, serrated, etc. The black sheath I also got from Amazon, figure I'll attach it to my hunting bag or something, I prefer the leather one for wearing.
What would be a fair price for these. I see them for about 100
Im also looking at this [link] The KA Bar I like a little better and is a tad bit cheaper.
My father was in the marines in the 70s and came home when I was somewhere between 1 or 2. April 22 was his birthday and I always have a hard time finding a present for the old bastard. I stumbled across this on amazon one night trying to get ideas. [link] I have never seen his eyes light up like they did that day. He looked like a little kid on christmas. Apparently before he went in one of my grandfathers friends gave him his kbar that he used in ww2 island hopping in the pacific and he had etched the places he had been in the blade. Some scumbag stole that knife from him just before he was to leave to come home. Definitely one of the best reactions I have ever gotten from anyone I have bought a present for.
I haven't personally tried that one, but every kabar i have tried have been exceptional quality. I personally still prefer this kabar. The style of kabar you pick will mostly be personal preference because they are all very nice. Even their machetes are beasts
Oh yeah? this is a cooking utensil? KA-BAR shouldn't be held liable if somebody buys this off of Amazon, without a background check no less, and kills somebody but Colt should be held liable when somebody buys an AR-15 and kills someone?
Amazon has them for $70. About the best price you will get.
Well obvs you need the pistol bayonet as backup for your assisted open tanto folder in case you don't want to mar the finish on Ol' Juggy.
Is the ka-bar listed on Amazon good? Or should I go to another retailer?
Also, are there other good ka-bar retailers?
Might Not be exactly what you had in mind but by god that knife can do just about anything. I’ve had mine for three years and I have quite literally zero complaints.
Ah. This is where I got mine.
That's a very broad question…
Any other info would help.
Do you want folding? Fixed blade?
An idea of your price range would also help us make suggestions.
Without any other information, the classic fighting knife is:
KA-BAR Full Size US Marine Corps Fighting Knife, Straight
Another option (I personally recommend)
Glock KB17281 81 Field Knife
The reply above showed me https://www.amazon.com/Ka-Bar-Marine-Corps-Fighting-Straight/dp/B001H53Q6M . What do you think? Im getting a couple opinions sorry $100 is a lot for me lol
You can but you can buy them new as well. Still very high quality.
$68, it does come with the sheath
Watch out, a brand new one available on amazon for $71 here:
Amazon carries them
That knife is probably for decorative purposes only and would break chopping a steak. Real fighting knives are made by KA-BAR
its probably the KA-Bar
Owning a USMC KA-BAR means nothing. You can order one directly from KA-BAR if you want. Or if you prefer Amazon, you can order it there, too!
also, at that price... well the kabar isn't that much more expensive.
I got mine used (still looks new) for $70 shipped to canada, all told.
edit: I also got the cool sheath with mine - that's where all the wear is - from sheath use.
Here's a pic of it
They are sub-par knifes
Not all of them.

amazon has em for 44 i think...
oops - 52 - my bad. I know you can get em for 46 out there if you look..
If it's good enough for the US Marine Corps for almost 70 years, it's good enough for you. It's also half the price.
Meet the KA-BAR, it's good enough for the USMC it's good enough for you.
This is what I thought about. But it is most likely too far away from the Rambo knife. (also quite a bit smaller and lighter)
