I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for but this tent has the smallest poles I could find on amazon (14”). I use a smaller stuff sack for the tent and just pack the poles separately so it packs down pretty small and fits in my top case.
You can get something like the Kelty Salida 1P for $95.
Little bit cheaper is the ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 1 at $78, but also a bit heavier than the Salida, otherwise pretty similar.
Solo tents can be a on the smaller side, so if you're a bigger guy you may want to look at a 1.5p or 2p tent. The Kelty Salida 2 doesn't cost or weigh too much more than the 1P. The Lynx 2P does weigh a bit more, might want to consider the ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5. This one's not free-standing and costs a little more.
Those may be sale prices on Amazon, but you should be able to find similar prices with sales/coupons at other retailers.
you absolutely want more than a red cross bivy....you can still get a light setup for decent price, and this gear will last you a very long time.
