How about the Kershaw Oso Sweet?
Seems like a love child of those 2.
The OSO Sweet is the knife that I recommend to first time buyers and 100th time buyers consistently. Other knives may be sharper or hold an edge better but if you take decent care of it that knife will resharpen like a dream and work just as well
Cheapest and one of the most durable knives I have. 25 bucks on amazon. Had it for 7 years now, 5 of them were hard use in a lumber yard.

How about this?
get something decent like this
This is the one I've been rocking for years: [link]
For what it's worth, I think you did the right thing.
Pepper spray doesn't do shit if the person has been sprayed before. I've been maced four times (don't ask). The last two guys who maced me were rent-a-cops and it was probably at least five-six years ago. I promise you they still have aches and pains from what I did to them. You mace a homeless dude, you'll just escalate the situation.
You deescalated the situation, then created distance, then left the area.
In a previous line of work, we were taught to deescalate, create distance and, act decisively (lethal force). You didn't have the final solution, but you made due with what you had.
I would suggest you carry a flip-out baton or a knife. It doesn't take a ton of proficiency in either to give you a critical edge. You're not going to fight off three NFL linebackers with them, but you wrap someone's ears with a baton or cut a person, and they're going to think twice about continuing to attack you. You'll need some basic education. Talk to Zander at 313 JuJitsu, tell him GP For Life sent you. Seriously. He's a good guy.
This is a great little knife for the price; I have one and quite like it.
