Well you can order Kicking Horse through Amazon in the US and get it for under $14 a lb if you get the 2.2 lb bag. (That's assuming free shipping - not sure it that happens or not for you). Personally I much prefer KH to Peets...but that's just my taste. :)

Not a college kid anymore but still very frugal. Can't afford $20 12 or 16 oz bags anyways. I buy alot of coffee on Amazon.ca. Ethical Bean Espresso (rocket fuel) is under $10. I recently tried out a couple from San Diego Coffee Co. that were around $11/12oz. I use an aeropress with a stainless steel filter so I don't even need to replace the paper filters once a year or less (save $8 bucks) and buy another bag of deliciousness.
