Get one of these travel tents. Very compact for travel, gives the kid their own safe space, and is the same space no matter where you take it, and gives you a closed space for the times you need it. If you get it soon you can introduce it at home first, maybe with play/exploring, then a few naps. This works for my 2-year-old. We first used it when she was 10-11 months old on an air travel trip, fit well in a suitcase, then we’ve used it camping (her tent in ours, next to our sleeping bags), and it has been her sleep space for occasional nights at the grandparents’.

We use one of these PeaPod tents and will probably upgrade to the “Plus” version when our little one outgrows this one.

Something like this? I've never used one, but we've got friends who love it for camping.

We did this with both kids at < 1 yr. Backcountry canoing for a week too (in the summer). We found the PeaPod to be a very useful tool for naps, since it gave us freedom to get things done (like washing diapers :) ).

Camping with the little ones gets better and better. Now they are carrying their own packs on the portages and stomping through the mud.

We got this and try to stick it in an out-of-the-way corner 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works… less well

We camped with our then-11 month old and she slept in a PeaPod. We also bundled her up in a pair of thermal pajamas, a fleece snowsuit (with hood) over that, and then a Zippadee-Zip on top. She seemed pretty comfortable.

we picked up a peapod by kidco. It ended up being really compact and packable. I think we will be using it camping for years to come.
