Sadly I'm not us based, looks more like 410 EUR (440 USD) (tho its in promotion rn) ence why I was thriving for a 32Go kit but kinston stopped producing the dual rank 2x16Go kit a while back
That looks like XMP kit, you need 1.2V sticks for AMD to run the correct speed out of the box (Unless you want to tinker and try unlocking advanced settings, i have no experience).
I suggest Fury Impact 32GB, fastest stick i could find that can run that speeds out of the box
Thanks for the comment btw, it reminded me to upgrade the module. I researched a bit again and finally ordered 2x32GB module from Amazon : Kingston Fury Impact 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) 3200 MHz DDR4 CL20 Laptop Memory Kit with 2 KF432S20IBK2/64 https://www.amazon.de/dp/B097QK6M3W/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_12FR8SSTRV6H4AC0D2DD
I read it in some forum that this module works and is best we can buy. I'll update if it worked.
It looks like good RAM, but based on the SPD timing pics in the Amazon list seem to show that you'll only get CL20 with XMP enabled, which to my knowledge isn't supported on Legion laptops. There is at least a DDR4 3200 non-XMP profile, so you will get DDR4 3200 CL22, but other kits might offer the same perf at a lower price.

I was indeed, thanks for your well thought out reply.
I'm thinking Kingston Fury Impact should probably fit our needs well.
It will work, but it will only run at 2666 until XMP is unlocked. This one will run at 3200 natively. Bit of a price jump though....
You can use the OP’s link to the data sheet. Here it is at Amazon:
I purchased mine before it was renamed from HyperX so that is not the exact same product page that I purchased from.
So, after further research, a bunch of Intel misdirection and contradictions, and a few random comments revealed what I suspected - that this laptop does not support XMP, it just allows you to select XMP profiles, that don't work. Selecting any ram settings runs any 64gb ram pair at 1.35v, which is unstable.
I bought Kingston Fury Impact 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL20 as it runs at default: DDR4-3200 CL20-22-22 1.2V yet it was just as unstable as all previous ram pairs (this was my 3rd attempt), experienced multiples BSOD's, gave up and put the 16gb pair back in, back to stability.
The only official ("Customer Reported") ram is G.Skill F4-3200C22D-64GRS - can anyone tell me why this might technically, when all others haven't?
These will also take 64GB, it's been proven several times that the Legion laptops will recognize 64GB even tho they claim 32 is the max. I plan on putting that to the test here soon. Gonna get the 64GB Kingston Fury Impact (Dual channel and Dual Rank) https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-FURY-3200MHz-KF432S20IBK2-64/dp/B097QK6M3W?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

Also, i was searching through some threads about finding out if your memory is Dual Rank and there is a free program you can install called CPU-Z that will give you all the speed ratings on your installed cpu gpu and memory including whether or not it is dual rank.
Link: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
The 64GB set of Kingston Fury Impact KF432S20IBK2/64 actually lists that it is Dual Rank in the spec sheet notated as 2Rx8. Some of the other memory brands actually note this in the spec sheets as well. 1Rx8 notates that it is single rank.
Spec Sheet: https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KF432S20IBK2_64.pdf
Thought i would share this info.
The G.Skill i don't believe it is, i can't find anything published to confirm or deny that.
I plan on upgrading again to the 64GB Kingston Fury Impact which is Dual Rank on the 64GB set when i have a extra 3 Benjamin's laying around: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-FURY-3200MHz-KF432S20IBK2-64/dp/B097QK6M3W?ref_=ast_sto_dp

Not sure where you are located but here's some links to the parts i ordered in case you want to save them. I did not get the kingston yet due to it being almost 3 times the price of the G.Skill which is why i got the G.Skill for now.

I love the 970 EVO plus, nice balance between price and performance and it scores higher in all speed test comparisons to the 980, here's a good page to highlight some of the speed differences. Also i don't know how much you do with 4K content but it's also faster at reading/writing 4K then the 980: https://ssdsphere.com/samsung-980-vs-970-evo-plus/

That kingston looks impressive, $279 to get the 64GB on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-FURY-3200MHz-KF432S20IBK2-64/dp/B097QK6M3W?ref_=ast_sto_dp

OK, thanks again. I'll do some testing once I'm ready to move forward with some games.
For now I'll image the machine, run some benchmarks with the stock RAM, install one of my 2666 kits, rerun the benchmarks, and then compare.
Here are some free benchmarks I found that were recommended on these forums:
If you know of any others I should test please let me know.
Below is a link to the Kingston Fury 64GB Kit.
(According to the post referenced above Kingston uses a confusing naming convention between the 32GB kit and the 64GB kit i.e. the dual rank 32GB kit has "1 in it's model name (IB1K2)" (2Rx8), while the dual rank 64GB kit does not.)

I'll also check out the OLOY kit you mentioned.

It comes with 1.2V memory and I'd get the same.
I upgraded mine with these and it's working flawlessly.

Do you recommend this kit? it is also 1.2v. Would it work?
Hello Tom/Team!
I have a question on RAM!
Does this RAM from Kingston work with Vision 14?
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B097QK6M3W/

Or I can only pick 3200 Mhz with CL22?
Thanks!
I know this is an old post, but it came up first when I was researching, so maybe I can help future X17 owners.
I got the Best Buy one (i7-11800h, 360hz FHD, 16GB, 1TB Gen3, 3070) as it is the only apparently in stock right now, and I had some of the same questions you do. I just did the first round of upgrades, RAM, and my SSD stuff will arrive soon.
My recommendation is to get the fastest RAM @ 1.2v you can find. I chose Kingston Fury (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097QK6M3W) as it has a CL of 20 in a 1.2v profile, so in theory it is even faster than Dell's crazy expensive 3466hz CL 22 RAM. And I can confirm that you can enable non-Dell XMP profiles in the BIOS! So it is worth it to get good RAM.
Re SSD you want probably want the fastest single sided one you can get, I don't think a double sided one would fit or be good for thermals. I bought the WD_BLACK SN850 2TB (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KFRFL8F) and this heat shield https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099Z7KJGG I'll be installing it on slot 2 just to test if it is a Gen4 slot or not, as I heard conflicting reports. I'll update on this.
I can post benchmarks once I'm done if anyone is interested.
These are the ones I've been wanting to get. I'm leaning towards Ballistix.

The Kingston FURY Impact is the only one I've found. Any other suggestions?

Can you Confirm if this is the Fasterst 64GB RAM Kit for laptop?
