Yeah OP make sure to use a cleaner, I use denatured alcohol and/or a wax/grease remover like this Kleanstrip Prep-All Wax & Grease Remover, Gallon (KLE-GSW362) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008QDSVPE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Y3KSDARK3D30T18VNVSG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I always keep some of this on hand. Works better and faster than goo gone, it’s only as harsh as the material you’re scrubbing with, it cleans plastic trim really well, and it’s safe on cured paint.
Edit: a number of auto parts stores have it and it comes in a spray can too.
So hopefully I can clear up some stuff, what you've applied is a spray wax with ceramic blend. The haziness you're experiencing is most definitely from that application. I would suggest using a product call Prep-All https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008QDSVPE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_907G74V6VWQ7AR7DQH2D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and a clean microfiber cloth to remove it. Take your time and be deliberate in getting everything really clean, try to avoid getting the product on any rubber moldings. Apply it liberally to the cloth and use flat up and down motions to wipe the windshield.
Once the windshield is clean, you can then apply a true high grade ceramic coat from a company such as Avalon King. https://avalonking.com/shop/ceramic-coating/armor-shield-ix-diy-kit/ Notice the price difference? That because this is a pure ceramic coating vs a spray wax blend. It's more expensive but a more pure product and won't produce a haze over the windshield if applied correctly (mainly just a clean prepped surface). The application process is simple, take your time, follow the instructions and allow proper cure time and your results should be great. I am not sponsored by any of the products I mentioned, they just happen to be the ones I use. There are other brands that offer similar product, main point is, don't buy anything in a spray bottle. That CMX is VERY misleading. It's branded as a ceramic coating. https://i.imgur.com/p0CBB9O.jpg but if you go into the specifications it says it's a car wax. https://i.imgur.com/KRvYINO.jpg Definitely a marketing ploy as a real ceramic coat is expensive and would never come in a large spray bottle that size for $24.
Hope this helps, DM with any questions!
PrepAll is half the price for a gallon but you can also buy quarts .. it goes a long way.. you might use like a pint on an entire car.
