It as a simple brace similar to the one linked below. The night I got the brace we camped with a hiker named Beamer and his wife Goldilocks. Beamer was a physical therapist of sorts and had a muscle shocker device that he had me use. Interesting item to bring on trail but holy crap did it work wonders. Did a 0 day to rest up, then I was good to go. I have not done as many miles since so I am not sure how it will hold up on 10+ mile days with lengthy downhill. At the gym I have placed a greater focus on lifting legs to strengthen the supporting muscle but have not done any treatment.
Oh and this is the brace I ordered. I wore it once while bowling and didn't notice any difference so I haven't worn it since. Should I keep wearing it? Order a different one? [link]
