Koss KSC75 iirc. They're very highly regarded in the budget audiophile community iirc.
Definitely not. They are very uncomfortable. The vinyl covering the pads is as thick as shoe leather. The headband is too narrow and doesn't expand properly for larger heads; it just flattens out, causing a poor fit. The sound is meh.
The absolute best headphones you can get for cheap are the Koss KSC75. They are super light weight, and sound great. They sound better than headphones that are 10 times the price. They are open, so they have little distortion, but you will be able to hear your surroundings. That's a both a pro and a con in my book. Plus people sitting right next to you will be able to hear what you hear (sightly).
They're $16 with Prime shipping on Amazon.

Eventually, I break them, but I keep buying them. I just ordered my 5th pair in as many years. I also own the Sportapros. Same sound, but with a headband.
Some people think that "bass boosted", "closed back", "noise isolation/cancellation", "virtual surround", are good things when it comes to headsets for csgo. Honestly had some of the best sound with these cheap things when I was looking for headphones.
Edit: For those in the market, the most important thing to look for are ones with open/semi-open back for a wider soundstage and something with decent sounding treble. Bass is only going to make things harder to hear so avoid anything that's over the top.
I completely agree, and was considering bringing this up myself. $20 for a $5 Monk+ with a braided cable isn't as good a value as the KSC-75 at $15. They're both cheap, portable solutions with low isolation. They cater to the same needs.
The Monk+ is great at $5, but if you're going to be spending $15+ then the KSC-75 is definitely better for the money. People love collecting those Monks, though, which is understandable.
Edit: The KSC-75 is currently <strong>$10</strong> on Amazon, which makes them even more of a great value for the money.
I’m going to hop in here with another recommendation. Not wireless, noise canceling, or anything. Koss KSC75 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0006B486K/
Ears won’t get sweaty, no problems falling out of canal, 4ft cord, cheap enough that you won’t feel bad shoving them in a sweaty shoe.
US Amazon listings are a bit odd for them, but this has new and used ones between $12-15
In the UK I have to import them from the US and they're strangely easier to find.
U play FPS or MMO-RPG's?
Cos FPS needs precise ones like pinpointing footsteps. If FPS primarily check this one out best in budget range,
I have the same problem - constantly losing earphones.
These Koss ones are a good compromise between in-ear and over-ear. They are also very well regarded for the money:
Well, I can sort of relate so I've generally switched to in-ear monitors from over-ear headphones which is something you may want to consider.
I would imagine if the KPH30i doesn't fit the Porta Pros probably won't either.
You can also take a look at alternative form factors like the earclip design of the Koss KSC75 that doesn't rely on a headband, I find them fairly comfortable for short-medium sessions (<4 hours) but a lot of people don't so YMMV.
Are these the ones you're referring to?
https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
I'm sorry I forgot to mention this, but I'm looking for full size over-ear headphones. I hate headphones that press on my ears.
I'll edit my post accordingly.
I use wired daily. I don't want to mess with charging earbuds or risk dropping them on something like a plane.
Earbuds also never stay in my ears. I use these clip on type Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones, Single, Standard Packaging White/Gray https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_9AY5YMZKW03FW90SACF9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Haven't found any wireless like this.
Koss KSC-75 have been my going-out-on-walks headphones for forever.
Koss KSC75, this is the US link, but just so you can see it and know it’s on Amazon. It might be just over budget but it’s worth the 5$ more.
Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones, Single, Standard Packaging White/Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_YZQ739XK0F7H8BVXE5T0
>There are "better" headphones out there but not for 20usd.
I think you're asking for something like the Koss KSC75, but true wireless? I don't believe that product exists, unfortunately. The Koss BT221i is closer, but it's much poorer quality.
Everything that's true wireless appears to be an IEM.
Yes, it’s definitely not as comfy but for the price maybe a little uncomfortableness is worth? I would say get the shp9500s if you need something that is light, cool, not very taxing to where. Cause in your price range I don’t think there is anything else that is as free feeling besides maybe the KSC75s.
Looking for an on-ear ear-hook styled headphones, preferably under $60, for use with my Quest 2. I don't like buds or IEM's, and a full headphone is too clunky to use with the strap on the HMD
I prefer a bass-boost harman target
Looking for something similar to this https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
These are extremely high quality for the price. They are incredibly comfortable and well worth the money. For a budget option I wouldn’t go any other way then here.

Can I use a mod mic on clip on headphones like these Koss clip on headphones?
Mic quality is more important to me than headphone quality. I like that these don't go over my head.
Estos son los mejores, te van a sorprender, ya no le busques, si único detalle es que sí no se adaptan a tus orejas lastiman y son abiertos es decir el de a lado va a escuchar
https://www.amazon.com.mx/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_82S5FbY8A70HD
If you want the best bang for the buck in terms of comfort and sound quality, I can't recommend the Koss KSC75 enough. These headphones have a legendary reputation among budget audiophiles and one listen will immediately make you a convert.
The one caveat is that these are open headphones so your sound will leak to those around you and outside sounds will leak in, which is what the default Quest 2 speakers offer. If you need to isolate the outside world, then these won't work, but sound quality will be better than any "clip-on" VR solution guaranteed.
They are available at Amazon MX but I don't think you want to pay $22 usd + import fees for a $20 pair of headphones
But if you want them so mad here's the link: https://www.amazon.com.mx/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_8kkSFbBWB7PGB
Amazon USA sends products to Mexico so I think it should also work the other way around
My recommendations for comfort, sound and price are always the Koss KSC-75, but they're not wireless.
But they are the best sounding thing you will heat for $15.00.
But you could make them wireless with any number of Bluetooth dongles available on Amazon
Right now they are $15 USD on amazon
Can I get an amazon link? That website of your won’t even let me look at the product without signing up. These were the closest I could find, but they don’t look the same.
These : Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones
They clip onto your ears, and the sound is good enough that you hear bass etc properly when playing things like Beat Saber etc.
Great for those that hate earbuds.
Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_yw6lJkuHEsVRi
They sound just as good as the CV1 earphones too. But just to be clear- none of the headsets I’ve tried hiss at all. This pair is just the ones I settled on because they sound great and clip on easily.
I’ve been using these, Koss KSC75 . I place the cable (where they V and connect) behind my neck when I put them on so I don’t have the cable dangling in front. They seem to play very well with the Rift S because they honestly sound better than my expensive Sony headphones I was using with the S before.
You could get those... or you could just buy a pair of Koss KSC75 for $15, which are the same as the what the Oculus Rift CV1 has. Sorta ugly and clip to your ears rather than the headset, but you'd be getting the same solid audio quality.
Without trying an S, these are the same / similar driver as the Rift uses so sound should be great, I have the Koss portapro basically the same driver in a headphone and the sound is like the Rift but a touch better.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
If you have $15 to spare, get a pair of Koss KSC75 Hedphones.
Small, portable, comfortable, and they sound mindbogglingly amazing for the price.
I bought a pair and use them everywhere. I wear them whenever I go into a store. They open back, but, because of the driver size, are not going to disturb the people around you.
I've tried a bunch of different headphones, but the ones I end up using the most often are Koss KSC75's. They only cost about $15 on Amazon, and the sound quality is amazing for the price--seriously, these things are a huge step up from the stock earbuds, and sound better than any headphones I've heard that cost less than $80. They are open air, though, which isn't great for immersion if you're playing in a room where there's a lot of background noise.
When I want to shut out external noise, I use Etymotic hf3's (about $120), which are in-ear monitors. Over-the-ear headphones feel weird to me when using the PSVR, mainly because of the additional bulk.

and If you prefer something even cheaper and more portable (with the same awesome sound), get the KSC-75's. They're even repairable (easily accessible solder tabs for rewiring, and replacement muffs available).
recently got these to use instead of the gold's i'd been using
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
much better not worrying about breaking the golds, and yeah you get a lot better cooling and airflow with them
Replace the crappy Sena speakers with these Koss ones: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497354511&sr=8-1&keywords=koss+ksc75
I've used these on the SMH-10 and now the 20S and they sound way better and also go way louder than the stock Sena speakers. With earplugs in I can hear music fine at highway speed with these, you just need to make sure that the speakers are placed perfectly when your helmet is on- not too far forward or too far back.
Koss KSC75. $16 on Amazon. They hang on your ears so there's no band to get in the way of the headset, and they are more comfortable with no pressure on your head. And the sound will surprise you with how good it is.
Buy a pair of Koss KSC-75 and use the frame of the PortaPro's. I'm not joking.
Exact same portaility, same durability, and will sound a bit better (titanium coated drivers).
All for less than a tenth of your budget. If you do this, please post impressions.
(I'm not aware of any other on-ear portables that clearly trump the portaPros. Sennheiser has the PX-100i, but it's a sidegrade instead of an upgrade. It might suit your taste better, or not. Not as durable as the portaPro in my experience.)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use these to mimic how the rift headphones are. They are decent quality but may fit a bit too loose on your ears for some. I hook them to the side straps when not in use so I can quickly put the headset on and off with them.
Along that same vein, the KSC75 ought to be pretty good, since theres no headband to deal with.
To those of you unfamiliar with these, they are kinda legendary amongst the audiophile crowd for sounding damn good for 11 bucks.
I have never found a pair of in-ear earbuds that were comfortable. Someone recommended the Koss KSC75. Perfect. I thought running would be a problem, but they don't fall out when I'm running. I have given away all of my earbuds to the kids and their friends.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01
not ear phone but https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this worked fairly well, though since they are not ear phone you can hear stuff around you, but it makes demoing the vive to friends easier as you don't have to clean the earbuds etc and they can hear you when you give them directions.
I got these guys: http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I cut off the stock Sena 20s speakers and soldered these on. They sound way louder and have a little bit more bass. Easy upgrade.
> Anyone know some good ear phones for running?
Not earphones, but I'm using Koss KSC75 (it's also available in Sim Lim Square, but at a premium). Cheap and good.
I switched from my heavy expensive audiophile studio headphones to these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ (Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones)
They are almost as comfortable as the Rift's integrated headphones, they don't interfere or overlap with the HMD straps at all, and the sound quality is good enough. And you can't beat the price!
edit: they also don't block outside sound much, which I consider a benefit, but YMMV.
Koss KSC75 - I hate earbuds of any kind, they always hurt my ear after like 15 seconds. These stay on and sound excellent for the price. Not Bluetooth, but the cable is the perfect length for my height to go from my pocket to my head without any excess. I've bought at least 3 pairs, and not because they fell apart.
I use my Bose headset but just ordered these.
Because I want a lightweight, comfortable solution that won't sweat a lot and ones I could figure out a way to attach them to the Vive headset. These had great reviews for the low low price of 15 bucks!
No problem:
Koss KSC75 are an extremely good budget option. They outperform almost any gaming headset on the market and deliver fantastic sound on a budget. You can combine them with an inexpensive desktop or clip on mic and you are set.
A real pair of headphones. Headphones marketed as "gaming" "5.1" "7.1" etc are just kind of crap. Wireless headphones are usually just crap in general. The G930s are heavy, they cause (or are affected by) interference/dropped connections, they feel sloppy and cheap and when you wiggle them around the flop around like a limp penis... i can go on.
Get a real pair of headphones like Sennheiser HD558 or Audio Technica ATH-m50. I own a Senn 558s and they are seriously the most comfortable thing I put on my entire body everyday. I can wear them literally all day with absolutely zero discomfort. They sound light years better than "gaming" headphones. They come with a long cable(which is nice for you PC) so I just ordered a shorter cable on amazon. I'll probably shorten even further so it's not an issue at all when I plug it into the HDM cable.
As a back up, I just bought a pair of these Koss KSC75 because they come highly recommended for the price. I expect I'll be using these to take away from the bulk of having headphones on top of an HMD at the same time. They haven't arrived yet so I can't personally speak for their quality or comfort, I just know a lot of people in /r/headphones recommend them as a cheap alternative to buds. Some people say they rival headphones in the $100 price range in sound quality.
Look around /r/headphones. I owned a few Turtle Beach gaming headsets, a few Logitech gaming headsets, a Tritton gaming headset in the past 10+ years. It wasn't until I bought my Sennheisers about 1.5 years ago did I realize what awesome sound is and how comfortable headphones could be. I don't know if you were ever a console gamer, but to me, getting quality headphones was like taking that first step into PC gaming and realizing what you'd been missing out on.
I'll include a link to Amazon (US) just so that we can be sure that we're looking at the same thing.
The KSC75 use a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The cord is a bit short (~3 feet), just like the portapros. They will work on your phone.
I don't think there are any KSC75 models that come with an inline remote/mic. If you have found one, that's what would or wouldn't work on iPhone/Android/PC. The headphones themselves would work in anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Koss KSC75 is worth looking at too. Amazing sound quality for the price ($15) and nice for working out/running for a few reasons. First off they aren't noise cancelling so you can hear your surroundings and won't get yourself killed by a car or something. Second being that since they slide over the ear rather than being earbuds or in ear they don't hurt your ears when working out (if you're someone who experiences pressure or pain when working out with earbuds).
Koss KSC75 headphones have the exact same drivers as the highly regarded Porta Pros for $15 instead of $50.
I used them in my helmet, sound great, more bass. Sacrifice your old Sena speakers for the harness, snip, clip, and solder. Ready to go!
Purchase advice should go in the purchase advice thread.
In the meanwhile, I haven't had any problems with my glasses. Get something with memory foam pads and you're prettymuch good to go.
Alternately, pick up Koss SC75 (or something similar) or IEMs.
Partially a rule 1. It doesn't sound like she's too serious about gaming. If noise isn't an issue, look at the Koss KSC75's. They look like they would be cheap things you get at a convenience store or something but they are exceptional.
Back in high school, I bought a pair of basic muffs to turn into a pair of DIY "noise cancelling" headphones. I took my pair of Koss KSC75 clip-on headphones (which sound much better than their price point suggests), removed the ear clips, and stuffed the drivers inside the muffs. Worked great for marching band bus rides where all the cool kids were talking and laughing their heads off, and I just wanted my 'tunes.
The KSC75's are super cheap on Amazon right now, and I just found whatever pair of muffs I could at the hardware store. If you wanted to get fancy with it, you could drill out a small hole in the side of the muffs to run the wires through.
these are well regarded for quality:price ratio, and are pretty comfortable to wear to the gym. they don't cancel noise at all, which is a problem if your gym plays loud shitty music, which.
Not too much for your price point, but these should be a big improvement over your previous headphones, the Koss KSC75: http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1429231170&sr=1-2&keywords=koss
I use the cheaper, but somewhat similar (and arguably better-sounding) Koss KSC75. Some people find the earclips uncomfortable, but if it works for you, it's a ridiculous bargain.
I think this may fit the bill quite nicely. They go over the ear, but aren't connected, so they shouldn't get in the way of a paagh.
They aren't bluetooth, as you specified, but they have a 4 foot long cord...which I find to work just fine when I workout.
I agree with SuperDuckQ that the Koss PortaPro is a comfortable, wonderful and great sounding headphone. I use mine all the time.
I would also like to mention that the KSC75 is even more comfortable but does not have as much low end punch because they sit lighter on your ears. Yet they are very clear and get the job done. I would recommend them if you find the PortaPro uncomfortable or you need something smaller and more pack-able. I also use these quite often.
The absolute best bang for your buck you can get is the Koss KSC-75s. Same drivers as the PortaPros, if I remember correctly, just different sound due to enclosure.
Anyway, they're $15 and they sound good.
That's something most $100 headphones don't accomplish. They're competing in a market of headphones that cost orders of magnitude more.
The Koss KSC75 are considered by a good number of people as the best headphones under $50. Since they clip onto your ears I would guess they would be pretty good for working out.
I do not have a headset, but rather, I have a pair of Koss KSC75 headphones hooked directly to the audio output of my PS3 using old computer speakers for volume control/amplification.
It's not nearly as good as x11s or Astros (no mic obviously), but I can pick up a lot of sounds that I previously missed, I have some ability to position enemies through sound and it only cost me $20 for the headphones (which I use for other things) and $5 for a RCA audio to 3.5 stereo cable.
Many people find Portapros to be too bass-heavy. I prefer the cheaper and more neutral (and more comfortable IMO) KSC75s - they have incredible value.
I really hope some of you try this - it will blow your mind. It solves the audio problem completely and super effectively. All of the instructions are in the Imgur post.

I have been selling these on Etsy for months.
Let's you put these on a Quest.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I purchased a rift S a little over a year ago. After the Facebook fiasco I sent it back and upgraded to an Index, to this day I still question the decision. I loved my Rift. You're going to want to upgrade a few things:
Headphones, I purchased these [Koss KSC75](www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K) unbent the ear pieces and wrapped them around the headband of my headset. The difference is night and day and was the difference between an interesting experience and an immersive one.
Grips, I purchased these: https://www.amazon.com/AMVR-Controller-Oculus-Anti-Throw-Protective/dp/B07X117LPR/ They keep you from having to hold on to the controllers all the time and make the controllers fill your hand a bit better. There may be better ones on the market now.
A Pulley system. https://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Management-Retractable-Accessories/dp/B07VQZYN3M/ keeps you from getting tangled up in your cable.
Enjoy your headset and welcome to the community.
Y'all probably know you should own a pair or two of the VE Monks already, but if you haven't picked up the Monk Plus yet (the red is back on Massdrop) I will say that the Monk Plus shines in providing a more natural tonality than the original Monk. The tonality isn't perfect, but there's fewer moments where music sounds unnatural compared to higher-end headphones, but again – these are $5. They have a surprisingly spacious sound for earbuds and especially compared to IEMs. They sound like cheap drivers tuned well, and punch well above their weight class. Like, I have to go back to my higher-quality headphones just to be sure that they sound better, because these are out of their world for $5. Worth buying several just to keep them as emergency headphones. Never be without the ability to listen to music – and at solid quality! – ever again. Put a pair in your dashboard, in your cubicle at work, by your bed, in your nuclear fallout shelter, anywhere!
I don't know if they're the undisputed budget king – for $5 with $3 shipping, sure, but the KSC75 is $12.58 on Amazon right now, and there's the free Prime shipping too. The KSC75 sounds a bit deeper in the bass, clearer/less-distorted, and more spacious, but that is in part because of design, and the KSC75 is also less-safe to use portably – the Monk leaks sound but less than the open-back KSC75 does. The Monk Plus still sounds fantastic, an improvement on the original, and are worth picking up if only as a reminder that the difference between well-made cheap gear and well-made expensive gear is a lot more narrow than you'd think.
Also, be very careful with the foams when you put them on: they're thinner than the original Monk's foams and will tear if you're not careful.
Also, if you're curious about the Dragonfly Red, my thoughts are here. And King Crimson's Red is a classic that unfortunately can't be streamed legally, go buy it on iTunes or buy the CD like some kind of music-buying weirdo...like I am.
Here's the Amazon link to buy these link
As u/oldeastvan/ said, if you have access to a 3d printer then buy $18 Koss KSC75s and print adapter.
> Rumour has it these Koss drivers also on the Porta Pro headset, were what were used in the original CV1.

Consider looking at the Koss KSC 75. They're kind of the best of both worlds, and they're under $15!

EDIT: Looks like the price went up. They're $15.99 now.
I can't use IEMs. They really hurt my ears.
Try these headphones ($14). There's also a Bluetooth version ($50) and one with a headband ($30).
Is the headband OK on the portapros? If so, you can try snapping the KSC-75's into the portapro headbands. Less than $12 dollars on Amazon right now.
It really depends on what your ears like.
My personal favorites are:
These are some really solid options for new audiophiles. The KOSS KSC75 are the best value IMO. You can find them with a microphone on the cable on Drop.com for ~$17 whenever they're in stock.
[Edit] the KSC75s are in stock on Drop.com for $20. I'd buy these hands down.
If you're okay with continuing to wear wired headphones, Koss KSC75s are pretty good. The ear hooks ensure that they stay put when you're running, and at ~$20 or less they aren't too expensive either.
The MEE M6 earbuds are another inexpensive option if you want something that provides a bit more isolation from the ambient sounds of wherever your treadmill is located. They have adjustable memory wire ear hooks that help prevent them from falling out of your ears when you get sweaty, and they come with a few connectivity options (wired to 3.5mm jack, wired to USB-C, wireless).
If you're looking to go quiet then you'll want closed back headphones.
If you want awesome audio, you should get a USB DAC to run your fancy headphones through. Plugging it into the controller is fine but it's not ideal.
If you want something cheap but high quality and comfy, try the Koss KSC75. That's the Drop version that has an inline mic controller, if you don't want/need that then here's the original version on Amazon. These will leak some sound, but they're not really ones you should be playing super loud with.
Very comfy headphones that sound quite decent, and are pretty great for the price.
If you go for something more expensive than that, get a DAC like this, but they also have them refurbished for a good bit less. You just lose out on a longer warranty. Just don't get a headset, get headphones without a mic if you're going to spend big. The ones I posted before are a bit of an anomaly in that they sound quite good regardless of being a headset.
Honestly full headphones are a little uncomfortable combined with a VR headset. Too much of your head is covered so it just feels too warm, plus the extra weight is more noticeable. This is based on using Pulse 3D headset with PSVR1 in order to use discord for voice in some games.
If I don’t need discord, I prefer to use Koss KSC75 or Rebuff Reality VR ears. Both allow for some outside sound to get in, but stay in place much better than earbuds and are more comfortable than headphones.
Background:
The built in audio for the Pico 4 is still relatively terrible. Espcially compared to the likes of the Index, HP Reverb G2 or even the original Oculus Rift CV1.
Built in audio has always been an issue on headsets, it's something that really got going with it's introduction in the Oculus Rift S. But back then someone created a brilliant audio mod using Koss KSC75 Clip-On headphones (The same headphones used previously in the Rift CV1).
I followed this mod and bought myself a pair of KSC75's to use with my Rift S at the time. But since selling my Rift S, the headphones had since sat in a box. It wasn't until recently I found them again and explored the ability to use them as a regular pair of headphones, buying a compatible headband.
The setup:
Combining the 'Koss KSC75' with the 'compatible headband' and a '3.5mm to USB C adapter', you get this brilliant set of headphones! Whilst they still won't beat the legendary Valve Index setup, they are leaps better than the built in audio. Most importantly they are lightweight at only 48 grams (weight of the adapter, cable and heaphones combined)! Additionally you'll want to find some Foam Ear Pads / Cushions Covers, which I found on eBay. All told the mod cost me about £30.
Alternatives explored:
- You could use regullar headphones which would be my key alternative recomendation for audio on the Pico 4. But I always find them a little bulky, espically with the side bands of VR headsets. Plus I do prefer my audio solution to be kept plugged in with my headset, so its ready to go whenever, instead of unplugging my gaming PC headphones.
- Bluetooth headphones struggle from latency issues so I rule them out and I personally don't like using in ear buds for long periods of time either.
- Otherwise the Logitech Chorus is a new audio solution with tech similar to the Valve Index setup. I bought a pair to try and use on the Pico 4, which is relatively easy to fit. I used four white velco straps and it wasn't going anywhere. But the moment I put the headset on, it felt so much more bulky, at 182 grams for the Chorus, my mod is almost 4x lighter. Plus the Chorus seemed to suffer from a small bit of static which I think I've seen others also mentioned.
The Koss KSC75 have clips that go over your ears, so no headband, but the headphones themselves sit outside of your ears: https://smile.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
Does anyone know why there was no tax on an item I bought? They were these koss headphones I was buying from the Canadian site.

This headphone . It looks weird but has amazing sound for its price. It doesn't have a lot of bass, but trust me when I say it is superb to any "gaming headsets" out there.
This mic . You can clip it on your clothes.
Plug the mic and headphone cable into this cable. The cable combines the headphones and mic into one 3.5mm jack that you plug into your PC or PS4.

Very unclear question.... Do you mean headphones?
If so, then I have the perfect solution for you.
It's the most comfortable headset any money can buy, no matter the price, and you will not find notably better audio quality until you spend £100s more.
Many audiophiles who have spent £1000s believe this is the end game for audio, that it sounds similar to £500 headphones and that you might as well just use these and call it a day.
I have these headphones and these easy cheap mods to it, and they're amazing:

Total: £37 (exc any extra delivery costs).
That's it!
Buy the other two parts, it's a very, very easy mod. Take off the original ear pads, and place on the yaxi pads. Pull off the audio drivers, and clip them onto the parts express band- you can follow the video on the website provided.
That's it. Easy. You now never have to think about audio quality again. These are insanely cheap and they are as a good or better than most headphones way beyond the price you're willing to pay. Enjoy!
all open backs will make noise when they contact another material, tbh. They'll both rub on your pillow in bed and it'll be annoying. I would seriously consider splitting that budget to cover two headphones. One for horizontal listening and a big boy open back for when you're in a chair.
These Koss clip on things are apparently fucking amazing and they're only £20, which should still be less than 30€. You could also get some cheap IEMs like the Moondrop Chu, which is currently very popular here.
Used/b-stock HD650 or ATH-R70X for everything else. The HD650 has bigger earcups, but they're both warm and very comfortable. You may also be able to import the Drop HD6XX, which is just a rebranded HD650, from the US for less than €300.
Do you need a mic? If not I really love the koss KSC75s. In your price range you won’t ever really get much better.
Maybe look into the Koss KSC75 or the Grado SR60x as both are very bright/sharp and are fairly forgiving of the music imo. There are some song I can listen to on these that sound like garbage on anything else.
So does that mean these are bad because the KSC75 are better?

So I know you're against getting an IEM, but how about an over-ear? I've seen the Koss KSC75's mentioned in this sub and it's £22.77.
> I wish headphones weren't so god damn uncomfortable while wearing glasses and while I can wear In-ears all day, there just aren't any as good as over ear headphones.
They are over-ear pad headphones, but they are individual and clip onto each ear, like this: https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/eloXiNCF/koss-ksc75/side-large.jpg
They are also renowned by audiophiles as being the best performance you can get at $20.
I'll just list all my accessories since people will probably ask
Headstrap: BoboVR M2 Halo Strap
Face cover: VR Cover Facial Interface
Battery Bank: VR Power 2 from Rebuff Reality
Headphones: 3d Printed Mounts for Koss KSC75. These are the headphones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_G3VKFYE4E6WWPYVJBESS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And I used this file to mount them:

Note: For transparency's sake, I made this file. It's free to use of course, but just thought people should know.
These headphones have incredible reviews, and they are pretty cheap... around $20. I've seen a lot of people say that they work great with VR headsets. There are also 3D printed adapters you can use, made for the elite headset.
Here's the Amazon link. Also, the first review explains how to do a little mod the makes them sound even better.

that's the oos price, it should be around $20, there's really no other decent options other than iems in that price range

Obligatory KSC75 comment. Even cheaper and, for some, more comfortable. Same elements, but the KSC75 has “less bass in your face,” more balanced sound, some say.
Koss KSC75s: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
Rumour has it these Koss drivers also on the Porta Pro headset, were what were used in the original CV1. They sound fantastic
STL files (not mine): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4627824 also includes version for cloth strap.
If you print these yourself, print hot and slow with no supports and no part cooling fan. I broke my first print snapping in the drivers, but after i slowed the tricky bit down it was good.
This guy says Koss KSC75, curently $14.71 on Amazon.

Hear also the Monoprice Modern Retro for $25, $19 after 25% off coupon code or $9.99 open box. Soundstage is enormous, bass is big and deep but not boomy and overall a fun V shape. Save up for Brainwavz XL PU leather pads, currently on sale for $23.60, because it transforms the Modern Retro into a higher tier headphone.
That same guy agrees.
Monoprice frequently has coupon codes for 15% to 25% off, which brings the Modern Retro down to under $20 and the open box is $9.99, however the Brainwavz XL PU Leather earpads which they need will cost slightly more than the full price headphone (but are nonetheless worth it).

For your budget, consider the Massdrop x Koss KSC75X for $16.99 with mic or non-Massdrop KSC75 without mic for $18.95 from Amazon. Like the Modern Retro, their performance significantly exceeds what is expected for the price.
Koss KSC-75. Nothing sounds finer or is more comfortable in the sub $20 range.
The KSC-75X is the KSC-75 with an inline mic and one button remote.
Clip-on go-to is the Koss KSC75: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K

Take your pick. The drivers in that Amazon link are the very same Oculus used in the CV1, so using them will get you CV1 audio quality.
I think you might get pointed towards /r/headphoneadvice, looks like purchase requests are supposed to go there, but if I can spent the time telling you that I can spend the time giving you some recommendations too!
If you're looking for something you can use while working out, you're probably going to want to avoid over-hear headphones. These are typically designed for relaxed listening or sitting still, so not an ideal choice for the gym or a jog. In case you're curious about over-ears however, or you want a dedicated pair that you won't use for working out, an exceptional choice right now is the Sennheiser HD 58X from Massdrop, currently available for $135. Just know that those are going to be fairly large headphones, and they're "open-back" meaning they make no effort to keep outside sound out, or inside sound in. They're designed to be used in quiet rooms. An office-mate may head what you're listening to if they're close enough. The sound quality from a good pair of open-backs however can't be beat!
For working out, I'd say something within either the *on-*ear or *in-*ear categories would suit you well. On-ear headphones are typically much lighter and smaller, which makes them far better suited for working out. The same goes for in-ears, their size and the nature of the fit make them almost impossible to knock out of your ears.
For on-ears, you might look at something like the Koss KSC75x, 14 bucks on Amazon or the Koss Porta Pros, 25 bucks on Massdrop. If you make a new account for the "20 dollars off orders of 30+" coupon and choose 5 dollar shipping, you can manipulate the price down to 10 bucks. It's honestly probably the best deal in audio right now! I just jumped on that deal myself actually! Both are solid for working out since they're so light, and both are known for their surprisingly good audio quality despite their price tag and retro look.
Now for in-ears, you might check out the Tin T2s, $35 on Massdrop right now. They're widely regarded as the best IEMs below 200 bucks if what you're looking for is quality neutral sound. If you prefer a little more bass, you can always perform the very simple "vent mod" which just involves taping up a small hole. They have excellent isolation, and use what's called an MMCX connection, so you can replace the cable if yours ever breaks or you want a different one. I've owned a pair of these, and I loved them.
So all in all, you're looking at well below 50 bucks for a pair of good headphones that you can work out with, but also use at home or work. If you want to really step into high-end audio, you could grab a $10 pair of Porta Pros for working out and the HD 58X for $135 for really high quality office/home listening/gaming/whatnot.
No, that's the wrong conclusion to take — basically every device you can think of that has a 3.5mm jack will have a fairly low end DAC. Whether it's an iPhone, a Macbook, a Pixel, a Dell, a Surface... There's only so much room in a device, and audio isn't the most important feature. The only phone I can think of that breaks the mold is the LG V60, and their Quad DAC is a big selling point of the phone.
However, there's a reason you're not seeing LG Quad DACs in every device, and that's because the results depend a lot on your equipment and audio that you're listening to. If you're using wired EarPods and listening on Spotify, a better DAC/amp isn't going to make much of a difference. Your headphones are efficient enough that they won't need extra amplification and Spotify (or any other music streaming service) compresses your music.
For someone using a pair of power hungry $500 Sennheiser HD650, those will require an external DAC/amp on any device (with the aforementioned LG being a notable exception that comes to mind). Those have massive drivers, are power hungry, and resolve enough detail that they can actually make use of a better DAC. But to really get the most out of them, you'd need to listen to uncompressed music files that actually contain that detail.
The point is, good audio is an expensive and time consuming pursuit that is rarely plug and play. It takes years to train your ears and know your sound signature preferences, and it requires investment if you absolutely want the best. A 3.5mm jack is still a great feature to have, and I'm sure that the 3.5mm jack in the Pixel 4a will outperform some of the cheaper USB-C dongles out there. Pixel 4a still has plenty of great features, like the best camera, stereo speakers, a good screen, and great software. So don't worry about it
If you do want to improve your audio experience a bit, I'd recommend these (also available in Navy on Drop). Easily trade blows with some $150+ headphones that I've had, and they'll be powered just fine by a Pixel 4a.
I have been 3d Printing and selling mounts on etsy for a while now. It lets you attach these to a Quest.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm still really enjoying my Rift S and have it modded the way I like (removed facial interface for higher FOV, room is lit with IR illuminators to play in pitch-black, Koss KSC75 headphones modded into the halo, AMVR Touch Grips, and now StudioForm's Pro Balance Enthusiast Kit). I can now play for hours completely cool and comfortable.
But even with all that I've been itching for an upgrade, G2 or Index. In both cases, the controllers are what bother me most. G2 controllers look like an upgrade from the default and Samsung WMR controllers but still take two batteries and are on the heavy side. Index controllers would be great if they lost that touchpad and gave us a more reliable standard-sized thumbstick.
Hopefully, the PCVR market stays healthy enough for and Index 2 and others.
> IEMs aren’t a viable option for me right now
How about on-ears like KSC-75?
>e frame they were in... even though it's an M400 and not an M600 ;)
Fear not my friend, you can get great audio for cheap with these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you don't want to have the earbuds/iems and don't want to use headphones because of the band, you could try clip on headphones. They may be what you're looking for.
The koss ksc75 are a great example of a cheap but highly recommended option. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones-Replacement/dp/B0006B486K?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace&th=1&psc=1
A more expensive option: https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-Lightweight-Headphones-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B000CMTV3I?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace
You can't really wear normal ones like this.
That is what I thought to myself after I noticed they changed the look of the box with the new batch of KSC75's (used to have yellow/white colors over its box, now its box is dark red/white) but there is no way it is fake..since I ordered the very same product from Amazon (it showed before I ordered that I already bought one of these in the past and so it came from the very same manufacturer, which is Koss), I believe they simply changed their architecture or messed up with their tweaking so now it is not as good as it used to be).

Oh BTW..I even have the previous original Koss KSC75 (broken) and I checked both internally/externally in comparison, no difference at all except when you put both of them on and hear their sound which is for sure different and it does not even have anything to do with burn in..I used these new ones (with red/white box) for like 2-3 months already and they still sound quite harsh and unpleasant for the ears).

1st time it was great, 2nd time their new ones sounded harsh and not fun for listening.
u/Gippy_ and u/MrStoneV in the US at least, they are frequently $14 on Amazon.
Oh, for the love of audio, get him some of these Koss KSC75s.
Not sure about actually attaching them to the Quest but the Koss KSC75 have fantastic sound.
The Koss Ksc75 arent earbuds but should deliver in the sound department.
You probably want to look into some kind of audio mod, by the way. The built in audio is.. not great. There are a number of simple, elegant options centered around attaching a pair of cheap but really good headphones:
The headphones: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K

https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K These are generally rated by audiophiles as the best bang for your buck headphones and I believe they are the same driver as the CV1
Ever tried the KSC75 or KSC75X? As far as I know, they have the same drivers as the PortaPros at a lower price, and without the metal headband.
I wear glasses and I love them. Some don't like how they feel out of the box, but you can easily bend the ear clips to the shape of your ear and they practically disappear, yet the great audio and wide open soundstage remain.
GOAT cheap headphones: Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_loyyCbS34T3F8
I am huge fab of the Koss KSC-75. They're cheap, on ear, and open back. I'm actually shocked at how good they sound for the price.
The Monk+ comes highly recommended by a lot of people.
The Monk+ are OK, but they KSC-75 are way better.
Currently using SteelSeries Arctis 3's but just bought this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/) and this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0769FNNXY/)
Koss KSC75, me gustan "clips".
I use small over-ears like the Koss KSC75 that you can put in a pocket.
Thanks, I'll look into the HD600 and stretch it out overnight on your computer you can try snapping the KSC-75's into the portapro headbands.
I've used my MDR-7550 IEMs with it, but these are a bit expensive and unusual in that their earhooks go over the ear and the bud doesn't insert that deep, and it allows you to hear around you better than normal IEMs. Actually I was surprised at how good the included buds were in comparison.
I also tried Koss Porta-Pros which were fine, I think (the band isn't very thick, just a metal strip). These are classics from the 80s, but have stayed around for a reason. Since they are open-backed you can hear the outside well. (The PX 100-iis seem to be a bit of a tight fit by comparison).
If you got the money to spend, the Audeze iSine looks really good. There's a cheaper LX model coming out, but one of them, as you can see, is advertized for VR use. I'm not sure how it differs, maybe just the cable.
rube posted those Panasonic clip-ons and it reminds me that there is the Koss KSC75 clip-on which is supposed to sound similar to the Porta Pros (same driver) but without the headband. So those might work better and cost less too.
If you have $10 to spare, check out the Koss KSC-75.
I own those and the PortaPros, and I think I like these better. They have less bass, but better treble.
Spend the $12 and get the KSC-75. Then you won't to spend $20 on a pair of Monks.
I also have the triple drivers, I definitely recommend them and they have a solid case to protect them as well. They're sturdy, the part that goes into your ear is a little thicker than other earbuds so fit for me is just okay compared to other earbuds. It comes with a variety of tips. They go on sale at Costco for $60 once or twice a year, it might be worth looking into around Black Friday. I got mine right before Christmas last year for that price.
One of the best affordable options would be KSC 75's. They sound great, don't have to go over your head, and are less than $13. They may leak a little sound due to how you wear them, but I don't think you can do better for the price. Really good bass on these if that's your thing, they're basically PortaPros. Foam on them falls apart over time, easy to replace though.
Koss KSC75 $15 , sound great, super comfortable and with a bit of tape you can attach them to the headset like Mantis. https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
Budget: Let's say ≤ $100
Source: My phone or laptop (Macbook Pro)
Requirements for Isolation: It would be a bonus, but yeah sn't that what headphones are for? To block out the noises and not disturb others.
Will you be using these Headphones in Public?: Maybe on the bus or airplane.
Preferred Type of Headphone: IEMs seem to never stick in my ear and I can't imagine they will be high quality. I would say IEM are very convenient and portable. Full-sized is probably the highest quality I assume, but they are too big for me. Ear-on is I think the middle ground. The clip-on ear https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K like these are probably the best. They aren't too big and aren't susceptible to breaking the head part.
Preferred tonal balance: I have no idea what this part means lol. I don't listen to rock, punk, or anything too loud. I listen to J-pop, OSTs, Classical sometimes, and that's it. Nothing crazy or screams
Past headphones:
Used to own an open ear clip on headphones I got from the airplane. I liked them because they are easy to use, but didn't like the ear pad because on hot days it makes me sweat. I currently own a JVC headphone that I bought from London Drugs.
I don't hate them, but don't like them either. I didn't like them because when I plugged my headphones into my computer there seems to be a really quiet static noise and after putting my headphones on for a long time, they hurt my ears. Also the earpad isn't real leather so the sweating issue is a problem. I also found it recently that I just don't like how "importable" it is (inconvenient to carry) and I can't stuff it in my pockets
Preferred Music: Looks like I answered this part already! Mostly soft J-pop, OSTs from Anime, Classical Music (no orchestras). No scream loud music like Rock, Rap, etc.
What would you like to improve on from your set-up: Hm better sound quality, softer, cooler pads, and portability.
Location- I am in Canada, but I got a $100 Amazon.com Gift Card so I can shop there. But if there is somewhere else I can purchase, let me know.
Budget - <30 bucks
Source - phone, computer ds maybe. I love general use
Isolation - i guess light isolation? I seem stupid saying light isolation but I want to be able to focus on the game or music while walking but talk to friends right next to me. (this is a stupid explanation)
Preferred type - after a life of using earbuds my inside ears dont look so good, trying to cut down on that, I would say maybe over ear
Tonal balance - Neutral as possible, I am not too particular about how something sounds, if it needs to be bass boosted to sound better then was it really good in the first place?
Past headphones - Koss Ksc75 (was great headphones but annoying to be sure) and the Koss portapros (actually really good but as of now one side lost sound)
Music - Anything that sounds great goes on my playlist, even rap, which I usually despise
Improvement - something that will last long hopefully, portapros lasted me for more then half a year (bought it in june)
I was also looking at this thing right here the mic I pretty much do not need, but otherwise everything looks nice otherwise
Note: I am a complete idiot so if you cringe while reading this shit, angrily suggest a reccomendation
KSC75 are on-ears that will leave your hair untouched.
I've been considering buying these and inventing some way to fix them onto the PSVR in a similar (though slightly rubbish) way.
Interesting... I have paid like $9 and $12 for them (bulk vs. regular) -- still a deal at $20, but I mean, just standard "non-deal" amazon price is $14: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
my koss ksc75 gave out on me today and I really liked their design as iems irritate my ears alot. was wondering if anyone has seen headphones of similar design
if not I'm in the market for some IEMs
budget:max 100$
source:iphone
isolation: doesn't matter
I'll using these for when I'm not in the house or running they're going to get alot of pocket time
past headphones: koss ksc75, audio technica msr7's
what I'd like to improve is the comfort and overall quality
IEMs with more ear anchory stuff is preffered as iems backout of my ears and irritate them and as a side note these looked interesting but I'd like to have options
Thaccording to many people are a hidden gem, it rivals the soundstage and sound quality of many 150$ headsets, dont look at the bad reviews, because since they're so cheap the're being bought by people who don't have enough power to use them to full potential (low end motherboards have sh*t audio solutions built-in). They've been tested by experts with high end amps and they were surprised by its sound quality, try them, you can return them anytime you want since it's amazon

I've been using this as my portable headphones for years and now for the Vive as well. I think they sound fantastic.
I've heart the Koss-KSC75 are pretty amazing and they're only like 13 USD.
edit: link for the lazy
I'm looking for some solid cheap headphones to use with my phone(Galaxy S6) under $15 that will be at least a slight upgrade over my included IEM's, I will probably pick between the KSC75's or JVC HA-S160 FLATS , I like the headband of the JVC but the headphones and they aren't nearly as widely recommended as the ksc75 so i'm not sure what to think . If there are any other sub $15 solid headphones that I should consider notify me otherwise tell me which one I should get.
TLDR: Should I get the KSC75 or the JVC HA-S160 FLATS to use with my phone?
Hello, meet the KOS KSC75. :)
> Koss KSC-75
Are you referring to these ugly ass things?
https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
I took a pair of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006B486K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and a pair of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NKSMPZW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And snapped the ear connectors off the Koss and shoved them inside the ear defenders. Now I have a pair of isolation headphones that work really well. I'll solder and make some plugs eventually, but this works great and is cheap.
I like the Koss KSC75 for ones that don't eat your hair.
I know this isn't a popular recommendation, but I have a pair of Koss KSC-75 that I bought back in September to replace a pair I lost. I run with them 60-70 miles per week and they just don't fall off.
I know I probably look a little "special" wearing them, but they just stick to my ears and sound great. I am known to have very small ears, and they don't rattle, never fall off, and I never have to readjust. They do not block out ambient street noise, which is a big plus. Plus they are dirt cheap.
The only other headphones I have been over-the-moon for are the earbuds that they ship with new BlackBerry phones. They also work great for my small ears and don't fall off. And the cord is flat and won't tangle. These appear to be what I have.
Grab a pair of Koss KSC-75's. http://smile.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K

[Need help finding the perfect headphones for VR? Here's my Vive Audio Guide!](/r/Vive/comments/4fzpip/need_help_finding_the_perfect_headphones_for_vr/) by JPTIII
First of all, DO NOT buy "gaming headphones" no matter what anyone tells you. They are overall cheaper and lower quality than something from an actual audio company for a similar price. Also, as far as bluetooth headphones are concerned, unless it is ATP-X compatible from both the source, and the headset, the latency will be too high for use in VR.
My recommendations:
Open, on-ear-
Koss KSC75 ($14.95) - These cheap little headphones have a really great reputation. From everything I have read about them, they sound significantly better than they cost. Hard to find this fidelity in this price range.
Koss PortaPro ($39.95) - The Koss Portapro are a lightweight, durable pair of headphones. They fit snugly, but not too tight, and even have fine adjustments for fit. Plus, they look cool as hell. I love their punchy bass.
Sennheiser PX 100 II ($52.90) - These are very similar to the Portapros. I would say the sound is better, and more natural, but that is very subjective. They fit great, and wont fall off from wild head movement.
Open, Over-ear-
Note: I have not used any of these, but based on my research, they have many qualities that would compliment VR, such as good soundstage, and good weight/fit. It should be noted however, that these headphones require more electricity to sound the way they were designed, so an amp may be required. However, it has been noted the Vive can drive HD 600s via its built in DAC/AMP no problem. Please chime in if you can comment on the need for a DAC/AMP with high impedance headphones
Mi Headphones - ($79.99) - Semi open, with an above average soundstage. I like the inclusion of multiple ear pads. These can be worn on-ear or over-ear. Many say they are fantastic for the price.
AKG Q 701 - ($175) - I like the detachable cable on these. It makes it easier to integrate a custom short cable.
IEMs-
Shure SE215 - ($98) - I own these and use them nearly daily. These headphones are used by professional musicians so they can hear themselves sing while they run around and dance on stage. SE215s are designed to be used while you are moving and sweating. Their fit is different than most earbuds (IEMs). They are worn in what is called a Negative Profile. The idea is a performer can rout the cable down the back of their shirt, and into a wireless audio receiver in their back pocket. With the Vive, the cable can simply be routed up from the back of your head, through the top strap. I plan on trying these first when I get my Vive.
Sony XBA-40 ($154) - I am extremely intrigued by the supposedly holographic soundstage these IEMs produce. Sony has placed 4 balanced armatures in these, and it is said that because of this, they produce a vast soundstage, with fantastic positional audio. Excited to test these when I have my Vive.
Note: I hear the IEMs included with the Vive are quite nice as well.
Additional Accessories and Equipment-
Subwoofer Added external bass in addition to a pair of open back headphones could be a presence multiplier, and produce really immersive audio. I have not been able to test this, but it makes sense to me. John Carmack has mentioned this as a solution before. Please let me know if this works well.
Schiit Fulla USB DAC/AMP - ($79.99) This may not be necessary, but I thought it would be good to include for now. For some of the headphones, they will require an amp of some kind because they are a bit difficult to drive from just the headphone jack. I was originally going to exclude them from the list for that reason, until I came upon this weird little gadget. It will need to be strapped somewhere on the headset (or in your pocket), and plugged into the USB port, but it will enable fantastic sound out of your more power hungry headphones.
That’s all I have for now. I will update this in the future if I come across anything else, or someone suggests something really good. I hope this helps some people out. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) you all in the Metaverse!

Koss sport clip design - very secure. Best cheap headphones I've heard.
Oh, I see. Well, I don't think I've seen high end buds, ever and by that I mean a bud that sounds as good as an IEM, not necessarily expensive.
You could try this maybe? Or maybe even the PortaPro
If you are set in keeping them then you have to find the spot where your cable splits, cut the outside til you see the wire and re solder. If you want to replace something then replace the whole thing. You should know that there's more soldering involved.
I was just looking around and there seems to be some other more options for earphones, which I don't know much about. So it's up to you to do the research. Good luck!
Check out Koss KSC75 Portable. There was a discussion whether or not this was the driver Rift is going to use.

I'll be getting some clip-on phones, like these
You mean like these? http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/
Wait, you want a microphone too? Then I don't know. Sorry.
Be aware that cheap Wallmart earbuds are worse than horrible from a performance perspective. You sure that you couldn't consider a nice Koss KSC75 instead?
There aren't that many. This is the only one I ever hear recommended.
These are some of the best headphones you can get under $100.
Also, vitamins are a good price on amazon.

Excellent sound quality for the price.
Grab some of these as backup headphones. They're cheap, really good sound-wise, and will last forever.
Well they are better than apple earpods anyway :)
Koss KSC75s are great for the price.

For anyone looking for something decent and inexpensive for this, I can't recommend these enough.

Straight from the mother fuckin' underground.
Head-Fi Forums holding it down.
Presenting your solution. Costing in around $15 dollars American. Koss KSC75
EDIT: Personal experience: Clips are a little loose, one time I forgot to tuck the wires in my hoodie and ripped the ear clip off. Found it on the ground moments later, bent it back in shape, popped it in and continued on going. If your ears can handle the clip weight, these are great, loud as well, but does not have a back cover, which means sound leaks.
Koss KSC75 clip headphones. Inexpensive, don't fall off, sound great. Done.
The Wiimotes are nothing. Just last week, I ordered a pair of these to get shipped from America, still to be cheaper than the same pair bought from Australia.
If you want something dirt cheap, Koss KSC75's have the same drivers as the Portapros.
The ear-clip takes a little getting used to though.
If you want something cheap get Koss KSC75's, they are the best sounding sub-$50 headphones you can get.
The 280-pros sound terrible in comparison to the HD-555 entry-level audiophile cans. 280 pros excel in passive noise cancellation, not quality (the audiophile ones are all open-designed).
The 650's are Sennheiser's former flagship set. The 280's can barely even be considered a headphone in comparison.
If you want to upgrade sometime, hilariously, these $14 Koss headphones sound better than most non-audiophile headphones at low-medium volumes.
The HD-555's sound way better than the 280 Pros, if you wanna go for the audiophile route; they can be had for about $90. If you're a bass whore and have a bit of a higher budget, I can't recommend Denon AHD-2000 enough (about $230 if you get them at the right place).
Make sure you give any audiophile headphone a week or two of heavy use for burning-in to sound the best. It makes a huge difference. And if you thought your experience the other day was amazing... oh my.. there is a whole new world to discover yet.
In general. M40X's being called shit is pretty common, but calling SHP9500 bad is more of a hot take. As someone who spent a good minute exploring the budget range (like <200), I think they're pretty mediocre.
Creative Aurvana Live! (CAL!) is more like a semi-close/semi-open than anything actually labeled as a semi-open/semi-closed. They have no isolation whatsoever. Their bass can seem kind of bloated to more refined and way more expensive bass head options like TR-X00's, but they're criminally overpriced for how much you pay.
Another option I'm seriously shocked this subplebbit doesn't circle jerk are the Koss KSC75/Porta Pro's. They sound absolutely insane for how much they cost. I even preferred the KSC75's to the HD650's. The KSC75's are pretty neutral but still have a tight bass and decent mid/upper ranges. Porta Pro's are bassier and looser, and sound a lot more laid back, but still have insane resolution. They both do. They both also have a significantly wider sound stage than any of the HD6x0 options.
My daily driver is a KSC75 on a Porta Pro headband withthis as a cushion.
It's super comfortable.

Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006B486K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1norBb7888NXD probably best headphones under $20
yep, every time i ride. it's perfectly safe. the people that say it's dangerous aren't doing it right. open-backed over-the-ear headphones at a reasonable volume allow you to hear your surroundings perfectly fine. like these: https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/
800$ for vive and you would like this integrated? : http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
Those are integrated in oculus probably.
I assume people who spend that much on vr also have good pc and good headset.
i recommend these. they're cheap, sound great, are secure and comfortable, and allow you to hear road noise better than buds.
Yes, I actually have good hearing and as I said good headphones.
So I can tell the difference between a low end .mp3 file compared to my FLAC/WMA rips.
edit, FYI, I can't carry my desktop every where with me. As I do in fact leave my home on a daily basis. When I'm out in a car trip or taking one of my several mile long bike rides I use a pair of Koss KSC75 Headphones which are far better that most ear buds. My normal use cans are a pair of Monoprice Noise Canceling headphones.
Eventually I'll get a pair of Grados headphones along side either a Fiio X3 or Pono player, but not until my wallet says its ok to. Which is why I use my phone to play music until then.
http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K
Those are my headphones of choice for running. I bet they sound better than your Bose. Koss gives you lifetime warranty on them too!
http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K http://www.amazon.com/Fiio-E3-BK-E3-Headphone-Amp/dp/B001MPWMDA http://www.head-fi.org/t/124243/kramer-mod-ksc75
The PortaPros are a solid option too, but I don't have enough words to describe how incredible sounding the Kramer Modded KSC75s are. Note that I did not say "incredible sounding for the price."
Get the KSC75s. Kramer mod them. Plug them into a Fiio E3 amp. Play your favorite album in FLAC. I've not heard anything under $75 that beats this combo.
Those speakers are next to worthless. If you want audio on the cheap, pick up some Koss KSC-75's.
If you can live without the microphone then get the Koss KSC75. Its what I use while running and the sound quality is fantastic. It is a clip earphone so should fit any ear well.
Link for any who are interested - note: not a referral link, I would never do anything so disgusting as trying to make money off of the death of anyone, not to mention someone as loved as him.
