Speaking of where they are now, I went to a book signing for a Gabe Kaplan book once. He was a pretty nice guy. He seemed to be doing some kind of corporate motivational speaking type stuff (where a big company brings him in to speak to their employees) or something along those lines and seemed to be successful with it.
When he was signing my copy of his book, I told him the true story of how my cousin's teacher (at a public school) basically told the students not to watch the show because it set a bad example for classroom discipline or something. He seemed pretty miffed and offended that a public school teacher thought she had the authority to tell people what to do in their own private homes outside of school, and I agreed. I actually kinda felt bad that I'd brought up something that made him feel negative, because he seemed like a really positive, genuine, nice guy.
