I went with a double shackle U lock. One goes around the frame, and then the other goes around the bike rack.

I can fit the bigger shackle around the front of the rear tire (feeding it through the spokes first) and the seat tube, and then the smaller one on the bike rack.

I like that it secures both the frame and the front wheel which has the motor, and it fits in my back pocket. This, along with the kick lock, gives me pretty good peace of mind. That said, if I were leaving my bike all day in a high risk area I would probably opt for a chain lock instead.
