Yep, I'll second the Kryptonite- best lock I've ever had, and have not had a bike stolen since I got it 4 years ago.
I got the Fahgettaboudit- worth ,imho, everysingle dollar I spent on it.
I got a steal.. brand new delivered from ebay for 65
I have a couple of these that I’ve used regularly for my bicycles:
But so far I’ve been able to take my scooter everywhere I go. I’m less concerned about it being stolen than being vandalized. People are really weird about electric scooters. I don’t feel comfortable leaving it out of sight.
They do look good! How are they with glare? Also, do you think the Kanebilt saddlebags would be able to fit one of these? Exterior dimensions are between 7”-8” long and ~4” wide.
Take it inside if you can. If not, get a quick release front wheel, take that off when you lock it up, that way it's more annoying to steal. Make sure you're using a decent D-Lock, which goes through the frame and rear wheel.
Something like this is a decent lock;

So are the more expensive locks on Amazon (such as this one) really worth it or are you paying a lot of money for brand-name recognition? Should I just roll in to a bike shop?
Ah, I think we have bit different locks. I have the (newer?) Mini U-lock: https://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-New-U-Fahgettaboudit-Heavy-Bicycle/dp/B06XCMWW9H/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=kryptonite+fahgettaboudit&qid=1599109981&sr=8-3 This didn't come with any mountpoint... Need to look into some DIY options then...
You'll be fine with a Kryptonite u-lock. Do not settle for anything less. I have a 2k bike and use the Kryptonite fahgettaboutit. I figure spending 130 bucks once is better than buying another bike. Sometimes I double u-lock it. Also check out the Sheldon method on how to lock your bike up. And I also recommend getting some wheel locks.
There are really good U locks. Kryptonite is one of them.

Kyrptonite New York Fahgettaboudit is considered one of the best you can get.
Not a $3,000 bike but I've got a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit for the frame, a Hiplock Lite chain for the wheel / secondary lock, and a motion alarm / tail light combo on back.
That all said, I'm paranoid and it's never locked up because 99.9% of the time, it's kept indoors between rides. Replacing the bike would be more an inconvenience than using alternative forms of transportation when I can't bring a bike indoors.
Or get a lock with built in insurance if they are able to defeat it Kryptonite New York Lock Fahgettaboutit Mini 18mm U-Lock Bicycle Lock , Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCMWW9H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_453967ZQZE0T3HB98YPE

Thick u lock, the smaller the better. More space in the u slack gives thieves room to either cut or insert tools for a leverage attack.
Bare minimum is kryptonite evolution (orange). I use an abus with 11mm shackle diameter combined with a cable lock. Best u locks will be fahgettaboudit or abus. I find abus key mechanisms to be smoother and less susceptible to weather corrosion than other brands.

Top end would be chain. Best to leave lock stationary at place of locking. Realistically too heavy to use as a riding lock, unless you’re on an ebike. Look for squared off edges with hardened steel. Squared off makes it harder for bolt cutters to grip. Brands to look for are again kryptonite, abus, pegwag/Vulcan, okg is the best value pick.

Once a portable angle grinder is in the mix, there is no protection. The only deterrent is time. Some will take longer to grind than others, thus attracting unwanted attention. For more information watch lock picking lawyer and sheldon brown for locking method.
This u-lock is small and thick. If faced down while locked, it’ll be a tough pick because the lock discs are set fairly deeply into the lock. As for breaking it, it’s 18mm of hardened steel and the core can’t be melted out with portable tools. So, probably cuttable with nothing less than an angle grinder. Secure the frame with it to make repositioning the bike very difficult.
It’s wise to use two different types of locks. Hardened steel chains are harder to cut than cables, and even harder to hold steady, making them frustrating to cut if your chain is long enough to have a little slack. The biggest downside to chains is their weight and portability. This chain is a good value between practicality and portability. Notice that the chain ends aren’t connected by a disc lock or padlock, because then they could just hold and cut through that. Instead, this chain loops directly into the core, so you either cut the chain twice, or cut once through the core. If you get the 5’ version, you could probably secure both your tires and the frame to something fixed.
If you did all this, any potential thief would have to cut both locks twice. Or pick them both, which for the u-lock would require a very long picking tool, or a screwdriver to remove the dust cover. Just remember not to let it leave your sight for too long. I hope this helps!

Kryptonite Fahgettaboutit Mini U-Lock
I would recommend this for it's thick shackles but if you're worried about it's security, watch this: Lock Picking Lawyer Picking Said Lock
Edit: Note that he picked the lock with a special tool that he and another locksmith designed; Not everyone has access to this tool!
Really surprised to see this sub not jumping to some legit bike lock models.
KRYPTONITE U-locks or nothing. Yeah they're pick-able but that doesn't matter because bike thieves use car jacks, battery-powered angel grinders, and hydraulic bolt cutters that can fit in your pocket. All locks are pick-able. The cylinders on a krptonite u-lock aren't the same as they used to be, and now require specialized picking tools and knowledge of the mechanism.
Krpytonite locks are not indestructible. It takes 8-10 minutes (+a lot of sparks and NOISE) to open one with an angle grinder. You can't cut them with bolt cutters. You CAN jack them open with a car jack, so I recommend that you get as small of a lock as possible, so thieves can't get a tool into the lock to pry it open.
Here's the model I recommend for your bike: https://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-New-U-Fahgettaboudit-Heavy-Bicycle/dp/B06XCMWW9H/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=kryptonite+new+york&qid=1615554657&sr=8-8

This is the only lock I use, and it took 1m10s to cut. That's under somewhat ideal conditions though, in reality there will almost always be easier bikes to steal with crappier locks.
