I know what you mean, especially since other sweeteners are so much cheaper.
I just found a 8.29oz bag of a monk fruit/erythritol blend on Amazon for $6.95
Seems worth a try without committing too much money.
2 shots of espresso and 1 fl oz of oatmilk is all it takes for me. If you “need” sweetness maybe get some zero calorie sweetener such as monk fruit sweetener and make a simple syrup out of that? That’s what I do when I want “sweet cream”.
Monk fruit link: Lakanto Classic Monk Fruit Sweetener - White Sugar Substitute, Zero Calorie, Keto Diet Friendly, Zero Net Carbs, Zero Glycemic, Baking, Extract, Sugar Replacement (Classic White - 8.29 Oz) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00CF2B04Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_AM79YMYP7WT1K4CZBCYE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The most common keto old fashioned I make uses a granulated monkfruit product, like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CF2B04Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_S6JA5PM1BFVRWT7D47SW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It dissolves well with vigorous shaking.
For bourbon: the very best old fashioned that I have made is using Russell's Reserve. Just a great bourbon that plays well with the bourbon. If I'm really wanting lower carbs I replace the orange slice with an orange peel, and the cherry with cherry bitters.
But, Russell's is kind of expensive, so as a good compromise between taste and price, I use Wild Turkey 101. Not as complex as Russell's, but well distilled with no harsh aftertaste. I can get a 1.75 L bottle for the same price as a 750 ml of Russels.
Milk? Assuming you’re lactose or it counts as sugar. But coconut milk probably also has sugar. Everything good does, except coffee lol. But if you really want a sweetener, try monk fruit sweetener. One of the few things Keto has made popular and available online and at many grocers, including Costco. Great for keto and anyone looking to have a natural sugar alternative. Hope it works for you.
You can also just get into black coffee
I order mine on Amazon! The Lakanto brand is great.

When prepared via the above instructions, each muffin clocks in at 230 calories, 21g of fat, 7g of protein, and just 2g net carbs. Compare this to a Starbucks Bluberry Muffin which has 360 calories, over 50g of carbs and over 30g of sugar!

I PROMISE you, I've had the same issues. I've experimented A LOT the past 2 weeks. But what I'm about to drop on you here will (hopefully) make life a little better! I HATE artificial sweeteners and stevia/truvia/stevia in the raw, etc. But then I found a monk fruit/erythritol sweetener and all is well in my world again! This chocolate mug cake recipe with this sweetener are just what the Dr. ordered! I can enjoy a cup of coffee and a little sweet treat here and there with that sweetener now! It's not bitter, there's no after taste. It tastes juuust like sugar. And if coconut flour isn't your thing, don't worry, that recipe doesn't have a coconutty flavor at all! I plan on making it for dessert tonight so I'll post a pic later

This is what I use. It’s amazing. So sugar alcohols aren’t an issue on keto? Do they still count?
