I'd personally just buy a lap board like this and pick my keyboard and mouse.
Congratulations, you made a great choice, especially for both school and gaming, as this is arguably the best mix of portability and gaming available in a laptop today.
You don't need a cooling pad for this laptop because when the lid is open it lifts the bottom up for better airflow, and because the thermal design is just pretty good. You do however need to leave the lid up even if using a stand or cooling pad for airflow, as heat rises through the keyboard area and with the lid down it traps that heat and that affects thermal performance a bit, and in the long-term could lead to failures.
Also, as a word of warning for this and all laptops, never use it on a pillow or blanket. As it sinks down into soft materials like that they block the airflow and cause severe overheating. Personally I just have a basic portable laptop desk (this one) that mine rests on when working on the couch or in bed at home.
Personally I run in silent mode at all times no matter what game I am playing. It affects my FPS a tiny bit in demanding games, but the laptop is so fast it just doesn't matter.
I would definitely not mess around with voltages and overclocking, especially for the games you play. I used to do that when I was young because I had to always purchase budget parts for my desktop builds and needed to OC to get passable performance. Now I can afford top-of-the-line, so if I already have great performance why stress the expensive parts to get a tiny increase in performance that doesn't actually affect my gaming.
I've been looking for the last few days and I finally found this one:
