We almost always host, I prefer it actually. I've always had the party house so I'm comfortable hosting. Treat it like you would having a vanilla couple over. Offer drinks, maybe some snacks. We definitely avoid a heavier meal. We use our bed but rather than getting under the covers we have a squirt blanket we throw down on top. That takes care of any fluids and at the end of the night we toss it in the wash. Easy peasy. We'll also have lube bottles on the night stands.

As far as the flow of the night it varies, usually some small talk, a couple of drinks (not too many). In the summer we might hop in the pools, a good reason to get naked. In spring or fall we might sit outside if the weather is nice, or play a game like cards against humanity. We play a version where the winner of each hand removes an article of clothing. In the winter there's always the hot tub. At some point someone (usually my gal) will suggest moving to the bedroom, people are usually grateful that someone took the lead.
