I want to do something similar, I also have back pains (I'm stuck lying on the couch since last week because of a lumbago 😞) I just need to aquire the felt to put on different size cardboard to switch between 1000 pieces and 2000 pieces. I bought something like this to put them on. I hope it will help to reduce the pressure of leaning over puzzles for hours 😄
